40 degree temperature drop yesterday in less than an hour...85 to 42... :cold: Hope all in the midwest is o.k. - ah the dreaded "s" word - another reason I moved south...we use our old snow shovel as a dustpan in the garage...

That reminds me - finally did see Charlie & Choc... it is a riot, not even half as 'dark' as Tim Burton films tend to be. There are a few scenes while they are in the boat that are a bit dodgy, one involving how they make whipped cream, probably where the pg rating came from.

Or when they pass by the pink sheep sheering scene and he says "I don't want to talk about that." ;)

I love the oompa loompas all being ONE guy. And when they go through the office and Doris is actually the oompa loompa...too funny!

Kids are getting that one for Christmas.

Good morning all! I was wondering how chilly you northerners would be. The temps will be dropping here today. We are had the rain during the night and into this morning. Hopefully it will be stopping soon.

Saturday football forcast in the great (yeah, right) state of Michigan ....35 and flurries....BRRRR.

Speaking of.....Mike is about the LAST person to actually GET tickets from this one seller on ebay. I keep getting messages from other users asking if we ever received our tickets (we did, with much hassle) but in the last month he has gotten 41 negatives---all ppl who did NOT get tickets. And he is "no longer a registered user on ebay." YIKES!!! Diana....does that mean ebay sacked him or does that mean he quit voluntarily....or could be either?

Let's hope the tickets we got are valid. They LOOK real!

Good morning everyone!!
The weather in the NY is balmy right now around 60 degrees, but is promised to change come this afternoon. It is supposed to drop considerably. Heard on the news how one town's temps dropped something like 40 degrees in a couple of hours. Didn't catch what part of the country, I think in the mid-west. The sun was out in the morning and then snowed in the afternoon. How the heck do you dress the kids for school on that day? We are supposed to get some nasty weather later today around rush-hour. Great, my husband is working late and I'm home alone with the kids. They get scared when it's really stormy and to tell the truth, so do I, but I can't let them know it.

Can't stay here too long. Gotta go food shopping. Hmmm, maybe I'll get stuff to make cookies with the kids. That'll keep their minds off the weather.

Hope everyone has a great "HUMP" day. 17 more days until our little getaway to FL. Counting down the days. And, in 1 week we will be leaving for Syracuse, NY for Thanksgiving. How about that? I have to first pack for winter weather, then come home and pack for the summer weather. Waaahoooo!!!

TTFN,
Maria

I'm not sure many of us will be getting upgrades on this cruise. It seems to be filling up quickly. Do the numbers drop dramatically when final payment is due???

Ang

Yep...the closer it gets, there are more cancellations. That's why DCL started the "No Refund" policy for the suites. Too many people holding on to them until the last minute and then cancelling. Which made DCL have to start from the bottom and move people up. But the lower categories see quite a bit of movement at the end.

Good Morning!!

I won't bore you with the weather here....but it is starting to get chillier.

I booked our flights for this cruise last night. WHoo hooooo. Now it's official!!
Which means, of course, that you all are STUCK with me. :flower:

I hope your tickets are good! NARU means Ebay got a bunch of "non performing" seller reports on him, and cancelled his account. They do that to non-paying bidders too. It just takes a while. Most people don't give up on sellers for quite a while, hoping to get their stuff. That's why it's a good idea to pay with a credit card through Paypal, if something might be dicey. You can get your money back.

Guess we'd better start watching for Southwest to open their schedule. I guess we'll be coming home the day we get off the ship, seeing as how we'll be there five days early! It's getting real when you book your flights!

Southwest is still only booking till March 31. But that's what got me looking at flights. I was on Southwest, booking the cheer (Disneyland!) trip in March, and I thought I should start thinking about May. America West only had a few seats left, so I thought I should grab them while I could. I booked using points, and they really don't make it easy!! :sad2:

Dear eBay Guru...:worship: .....I won an auction from a guy, and made payment through PayPal. Then I bought an identical item from him, with the "Buy It Now"....(Christmas gifts)....but now, PayPal won't accept my payment. Actually, what it says is "Seller is unable to accept payment at this time". What's up with THAT?? :confused3

Whoa!!

Now you did it!! Don't make PayPal mad.......... :earseek: The earth will shake and your Treo won't work anymore!!!

Maria, I think we're chillier than you are (if your temps haven't started dropping).

OHMinnie, that's not my idea of a fun football game! My idea would have been this past weekend for the LSU/AL game ... bright, sunny & in the 70s! I used to have N.O. Saints season tixs way back when. People used to fuss about being in a dome. I don't think I would have enjoyed sitting through a game in the rain or cold, wet winter!

Yeah, we gave him every chance. Luckily (we think) he came through for us. We won them in August. Asked him to NOT fed-ex them till we were back from WDW. We got back, asked for shipment and got the run around. Finally the wife said his mother was critically ill and out of town. Mike emailed at least every week and finally the guy came back in town and finally he shipped them.

Wait....Mike and KT will show up to the game and their tickets will be somehow flagged and they'll miss the game b/c they are in police custody being questioned about this seller!! Oh, KT would be STEAMING mad!

What if you pay through Paypal but use your Paypal balance? I think *part* of these tickets were paid with balance, the rest with CC.

Milestone for the day ... got out and went to the mall today. I had a Bombay Company gift card that needed to be spent so we ventured out. We only made it to that one store though. DH hadn't paid the car registration so we went take care of that too. Thank goodness it was only a 5 min. wait. I was out for a total of 2 hours and was ready to get home. It would have help if I had taken my pain killer before going off. It was time when we walked out of the door & I completely forgot!

Tomorrow Emily's class is having a "show" and lunch. My office is also having their holiday lunch so if I'm up for it, I'll swing by there too. So I'll be out for a while tomorrow too.

Our admin person at my office requested baby Christmas pics of everyone for a special bulletin board. I had my mom pull out my photo album today and found some pics of me & my sis in front of the Christmas tree when I was 1. I told my mom that everyone would know that it's me because the pics are in color!!! Baby pics & christening pics are all b&w then by 1 everything is in color. Can you believe I'm the youngest at my office?

Angie,
You're like me then. I'm definitely a "fair weather fan." Meaning I don't mind watching the games in the stadium if the weather is good! :) Last week Mike had two sets of tickets (one season, one alumni) He took his dad and sister and there was seat swapping between halves. Apparently one was in the shade (the ppl froze when they sat there) and one was in the sun (the ppl were boiling hot when there!)

If it's a new seller, they may not have a business account. Was your first payment by credit card? Or, it could just be a Paypal glitch. They've been having a lot of those. Try writing the seller a note and asking what's up.

OM, that should be OK. I do know that if the entire thing is paid by CC, Paypal is very responsive. Mostly because they got in trouble for that, and had lots of credit card company chargebacks.

It was 73 and sunny at noon and now it is grey, rainy and 50! What a change, windy and threatening all afternoon.

Excuse me, but football season is not over with yet and you just used that M word. I think you need to confess this to your family and put some money in the pot.

It's great to come back and the first post I read is this one. Life is good!! And so was getting out of Boston before it got really cold.

I can't take the time to read all the important posts since Sunday so Sharon will get me caught up.

The big thing for us is to get ready for Saturday. We leave for our 10 days. Time to unpack from this trip and get the dive gear ready to go! :cool1:
