Just had a question.....am I NOT doing something that I SHOULD be doing? This is our first DCL cruise and I don't want to find out that I was supposed to be booking something and didn't. Follow me?

When do I find out what rotation I'm on? Do I find out when I make my final payment, or right at the dock?

Shore excursions...I'm not sure what we're doing yet. Maybe nothing. Where do I find out what's offered for each stop? The kids would love to swim with the dolphins, but from what I gather that's at Coz and they probably won't be up and running by May, right?

I just feel like this will be here before I know it, and I won't be prepared. I used to be very anal about stuff like this, but as I'm getting older and my life is busier...my head is elsewhere. lol

We've only been on one other cruise, so I'm not sure about the dining rotation. We knew ours because we'd gotten the RES package and had requested APL rotation when making our Palo ressies. This time I also requested APL, but we also requested linked dinner ressies with the other DISers. Sue, will we be able to know our rotation, or do we have to wait until we get our KTTW?
We are tentatively planning the dolphin encounter booked through DCL at Cozumel. That way if they aren't up and running it won't be so much of a hassle to get refunds. We are also planning on doing one of the Mayan ruins tours in Costa Maya. We're looking at the Dzibanche and Kohunlich tour at this time. DS will be studying Mayan culture, so thought it would be a once-in-a-lifetime deal. We don't want to do Tulum in Coz due to the long ferry ride. I don't know if we'll book the CM tour through DCL or on our own. As far as finding out about excursions, you can go to DCL web site and go to the 'My Disney Cruise' at the top of the page, go to retrieve reservation. From there you can go to My Cruise Plans and add to your 'wish list' of things to do. I printed off all of the choices for DH and DS to look over and choose what they wanted to do. Much easier than trying to sit them down in front of the laptop and scroll through.

Well, I would volunteer my 11yo ds, but he hasn't been very chatty with his other e-mail pen pals lately. He was so 'thrilled' to hear of another GIRL on the cruise.

LOL - my dd has the same amount of "boy" friends as she does "girl" friends, so that's why she doesn't care if it's boys or girls that she hangs out with.

OK guys, I think I need some help on the bags. They can have a screen print on the front flap and for an additional five dollars, you can have your name embroidered. What does everyone want embrodiered on them. She can't use the Disney name or ears or anything that is copyrighted. When we get it all figured out, probably everyone that wants one should send me a private message since sometimes not all of the messages get read (if you know what I mean)

The double-scoop logo on the bag would work for me. The name would also be nice to tell them apart if we're in a group.

Sorry, I couldn't have even told you who was in the running for the Super Bowl. For me, it's the commercials!


I fell asleep thinking about dinner rotations last night. I know at one point, I had (with the help of Passporter and the DIS) figured out a good rotation that puts you in Lumiere's for formal night and Parrot Cay for Pirate Night.....and I am thinking that's APL.... anyone???

Maria...usually we don't find out the dining rotation until we get to our stateroom and look at our dinner "tickets". We take the tickets to dinner the first night, and after that, they go in the big envelope with goodies for the scrapbook.
But, if we link the early diners, and link the late diners, we can "request" (not guaranteed) a particular area to be seated in, and a rotation.
Generally, only "groups" have been able to do this, but thanks to the DIS, word spread that it was possible to request a certain rotation, and then the name and number of the DCL contact slipped out, and now many people call and make a request. Which I'm sure drives the gal in DCL dining insane! (I KNOW it does, she has told me so)
So I'm not going to contact her until we get everyone's name, cabin number and reservation number. I only want to have to call her once.

Names on the cooler bags sound like a good idea too. Hadn't thought about us being together with them!

Good Morning all. We don't have much left to pay on our cruise, too. Not the suite, not this time. I'll be happy right now with our Cat. 6 with balcony. Until I see Stacey's suite, and then hubby will know THAT'S the way we travel next cruise. lol

Dining rotations

When we took the November cruise, we were able to select a dining rotation in advance - however, I do not think we can do that AND try to link as many as we are trying to....So, if you really need a specific rotation you may be better off not linking....

What do you think about the Double Scoop Cone with the date and cruise name at the bottom, but then put the family/person's name on the top? I like the scoop, so why not match the shirts?

The poor girl at DCL was near tears last Christmas.....not because of us....but just everything. I have NO IDEA why they only have ONE person handling dining at DCL....seems way too big a job for one. But...maybe it wasn't such a big job before her name spilled out onto the DIS!

The one thing I will truly LOVE about being back in one of DCL's suites?? I had thought that it would be the extra toilet....nope....it's the extra SINK! I sent the "boys" to the public potties out by the pool alot....but we still had to use just one sink to brush our teeth, get a drink, rinse a cup....

Scoop on one side, name on the other....
