Hi all!

Just checking in...Angie, glad to know you're doing well...echoing everyone - take it easy starting back to your routine...

Kids are off for the entire week - finally got around to watching Star Wars III - we got it right away off netflix - but, just hadn't had time to watch it...now, the kids and I are having a Star Wars marathon we've watched 4 & 5. Revenge of the Jedi will have to wait until tomorrow. Then they want to go back and watch 1 & 2. The original trilogy is still by far my favorite of them all...

As much as I'd like to see HP - I think we'll pass until it hits DVD - the movies don't seem as intense for the kids (especially Maggie) on the small screen. I was a bit concerned with SW III but, she was fine...

Kids want to see a movie tomorrow - any thoughts on either Dreamer or Chicken Little?

Well, Chicken Little is doing very well, kids seem to like it. Just don't go see Zathura if your kids don't like scary movies!

oday would be perfect for Thanksgiving - it is "cold" in S. Florida.....the cats are going crazy....

Today I must head to the West Coast for business and then stop at the store for thanksgiving goodies we forgot to get on Sunday, why does that always happen?

Scoopie, all pins, luggage tags and navigators were mailed out yesterday. Let's hope they all arrive safely.

Kevin, thanks lots for th info...Sam is excited about an upcoming dive trip.....

And Everyone - thanks for the tips on Sunburn...we are fighting the clock so that I can be as normal as possible for Thursday - we do not want Mother to see RED.....

That's me, Sue. I've got the redhead skin, actually we all do. I have always been super careful with DD, it's getting harder now that she is a teen and I don't always know where she is. I have to count on Kevin to monitor her when they go diving, a scary thought. I can't imagine snorkeling all day! For me, it's a little snorkeling, then a lot of shade.

I've never had a problem diving - hats, pants on top of water are ok and once under - no worries.....Guess I really outdid the snorkeling.....next time - more shade, more beer?

Cool story!!!!

Same thing happened to me about 3 weeks ago on the way home from piano. Well...not bobcats....but a BALD EAGLE! I saw a "big bird" and as it got closer I noticed it's white tail and head. The thing was huge and getting bigger as it swooped lower. I stopped the car as we watched....and it swooped down about 20 feet in front of the car and picked up a live squirrel that was in the grass. Picked the thing up as it fought and then carried it away.

TOO COOL!! They are such majestic birds especially when not trapped in a cage in the zoo!

My understanding is that most of the eagles that are in zoos are not capable of free flight - at least all I have seen have been injured and cannot survive on their own.....

We have a 'resident' bald eagle that likes to fish in the pond behind our house... he is HUGE!!!! I have seen him twice so far, and the neighbor said he's a regular in our watering hole... if only he'd go after some of the little yip-yip dogs in our neighborhood!!!

not an eagle but in Grand Canyon one year while we were camping (in four feet of snow and some 22 or 18 degrees...why???), a black raven (crow??) decided that he really, really wanted Hedgie for a snack. Could you see us running after a bird trying to get her back.......

Okay....HELP! Maybe the guys can help with this one.....we have a client who always gets us a gift for Christmas. We help him sell a LOT of his art work, making him rather wealthy. I have always given him something in return, which now I realize was probably bad form, since his gift was a "thank you"....but anyway, two years ago he didn't care for the gift I gave him, and last year I got him a Swarovski ornament only to have him tell me he's Jewish...(who knew?).....SOOOO....what should I get him this year??

Fruit from Florida!!!!!!!

Or a donation to the earthquake or hurricane victims, but that too might be misunderstood.

Good Luck...

(OK - not a guy, but I understand the difficulties of dealing with clients and while it might have been "bad form", would it be worse form now to stop?)

Went to the dr. today. They are not too pleased with my eating ... said I should normally be taking in 1600 calories a day and right now that should be doubled!!! I still don't have my appetite back since the surgery. I lost 10 lbs. and gained 1/2 inch in height. I couldn't stand to lose 10 lbs. I look like those anorexic (sp???) people that you see on TV!

They did switch my narcotics in hopes that it would help with my appetite. I'm going to try to only use Extra Strength Tylenol during the day. We'll see!

I had to be fitted for a new brace. In the past week, I could tell it probably wasn't fitting properly any more. The dr. agreed and sent me down to have it adjusted. It was so bad that they're making a new one. I've lost all of the swelling from the surgery so now I'm swimming in it.

I got the ok to drive again. I also got orders to start getting 30 min. of aerobic exercise 4 times a week.

Ang

You can do it Ang...once you start getting out and walking your appetite will come back, just in time for all the holiday goodies - just think, this year, you will not have to hold back....

You can be the Captain of the power walk on the ship - We won't be able to keep up by May!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Maria-

We will probably be going to MK & MGM that day... we've discovered that its our only day to go before the blackout dates on our seasonal AP's... I want to see the parks all decked out for Christmas!! Let us know what happens... if dinner doesn't work out, maybe we can meet up with you somewhere...

Maria - Karen - not wanting to butt in - but we will be willing to meet up for lunch with folks - or a late afternoon gathering. Cannot stay for dinner.....

We saw Chicken Little on the Magic and enjoyed it....Have not seen (or actually heard anything) about Dreamer.....

Good morning cruisers!
Happy Tuesday!

Good Morning All - How wonderful to see the bobcats, eagle and buck. That is why I am going back to Alaska, so much majesty to see. We have fox, hawks and wild turkeys (not Kevin and Jim) around. There have been black bear and coyote sightings in the area but not by me!

Ok, maybe it's the pain killers talking, but Angie, you're freaking me out. How did you know there was an 8 point buck in my yard? :rotfl2:

That was funny. My eyesight must be pretty darn good! :rotfl:

Good morning all! We've got a sick little one home with us today. Ashley came home from day care with a 103 temp. We've been pushing Motrin & Tylenol every 3 hours. Will have to call the ped's office in a few minutes. I'm sure they'll just say "wait & see."

Gotta go draw straws with Jay. Prison Break is on in 5 minutes.....and someone has to pick Jordan up in 5 minutes. :confused3

Someone needs Tivo! You could have set it to tape Prison Break, gone to pick up Jordan as a couple, then come back and watched the show without commercials!!!!!!

Mike is sick....really sick. His throat is awful. His uvula actually hangs down so far it rests on his tongue....NASTY! His strep test was negative. I told him maybe he had diptheria and we should get some sled dogs to bring him something. He didn't think that was funny. He just demanded home made chicken noodle soup, jello, and sherbert. :)

Sounds like these two need to spend the day quarantined together... don't want the germs spreading on the DIS board for Thanksgiving!!! Besides, that way, Ang wouldn't have to make that trip to the ped's office.

Hope everyone (you too, Ang) is feeling better soon!!
