Good morning Cruisers!
We sail in 36 weeks!

Woo Hoo - Another week closer to cruising!

I missed the countdown last week and somewhere along the line it got messed up. So I checked my math this morning! :)

Ya know, I thought that the week numbers were off with the day numbers. I just thought it was me. We were 3 weeks off according to my cruise paper chain. That makes me happy:cool1:  We are closer than I thought....

How exciting for you!! It must feel good to be so close to the finish of the project. Do you have a idea for the inaugural dinner??

Let's see...the granite countertop gets installed on Monday and the flooring starts probably on Tuesday(I'm hoping), so probably by next weekend we will have our inaugural dinner. Since my hubby busted his butt with this house, and by no means is it finished, I figure I'll make his favorite...pot roast with potatoes, carrots and gray. MMmmmmmm good. He's a meat and potatoes kinda guy, if you haven't guessed that yet. I am just waiting for the day, patience is running thin. I'm starting to outgrow the space I have in the garage. Give me strength...

:confused3 So is this an "shifting" issue?? I'm assuming the Jeep is manual transmission.

Is Matt's shifting class, phase II??

It's a shifting issue. I just had a new clutch put in it and would like it to last for a while. He has been practicing the starting and stopping so it might not be to long before he starts driving the Jeep.

We took it tonight and I drove.

Pictures of JB's will probably be posted in the morning, when I can get some computer time.

It's been a busy day for us. We started with family portraits early (8:50) this morning. I'm hopeful that they'll come out nice and we'll get Christmas cards out of it. I'm also fearful that I'll like them too much and spend too much. This was a fundraiser for elementary school (where does it end????). I thought that they'd only take a few poses of only the family. But, nooooo, they took multiple shots of the family, multiple shots of DH & I, then multiple shots of just the girls. Portrait viewing is on the 28th.

Not sure where the rest of the day went.

All this talk of shrimp .... we are fortunate enough to have a "supplier" (parents) of shrimp from LA. My dad goes straight to the docks & gets shrimp right off the boat. What he pays $2.50/lb. for there, we'd pay at least $8/lb. here. So, once a year, they supply us with shrimp to put in the freezer. I'm hoping the hurricane doesn't hurt the shrimping but am sure it will. My next thought is ... what will happen to the crawfish in the spring???

All this talk of rock shrimp and JB's is making me hungry... haven't been there since last fall- if this schedule keeps up, I won't get there again til NEXT fall!! (Besides, the gift certs. from my realtor for Stonewood are burning a hole in my pocket...)

Yet another disgustingly hot Saturday at the football field... we were away, playing in the 'least desirable' place around here. No shade, abnoxious fans and players, and way too many unsupervised teens from the projects hanging out at the field. (Thankfully, we only play there every other year).

Still unpacking, but the house looks somewhat presentable. The A/C in Elizabeth's room already had to be fixed... still trying to wrestle our old phone # back from the phone company (they screwed up... now they don't know if we can get it)... hopefully those are our only hangups with the move. (Though I have to wonder what it means when the groom's head gets snapped off of the ceramic wedding cake top???? Uh oh!!)

I'm home....way too tired and busy to post. Unpacking everything and Re-cleaning my house. Right at the same time as the Buckeye game. I think this bride is out to sabatoge the OSU season!

Speaking of OSU, how about that UT-OSU game, huh??? Thought of you while watching the highs and lows of that game...

too many lows in that game. i'm sure it's my fault they lost. i went to bed before the game was over (so did Nick) we took off our Buckeye necklaces. therefore it was our fault. ;)

at least it wasn't a conference game! ;)

Hadn't thought of either shrimp or crawfish, so much has been said about gas prices... - prices have stayed pretty steady on fresh shrimp right off the docks here...I think crawfish supply won't be too affected by the hurricane - or Texas supplies will fill in the gaps - so, much is farm raised and it's far enough out until the start of season, it'll be o.k.

We were at a friend's house watching the game, and we left after the 3rd quarter so, it was a surprise waking up to UT's win. I didn't expect it, the way they were playing...

So much fresh seafood, so little time before the cruise, JB's, Grills, Dixie crossroads...choices, choices, haven't been to any of the above - but, keeping notes, on DIS'ers recommended restaurants....

Added JB's and Dixie's websites to my notes - although think it might have to be JB's and/or Grills....

We've been to Dixie Crossroads. Had the rockshrimp. Always heard Andy talk about it so gave it a try. It was very good!! Good meal, all in all, although, to me, the meal didn't taste very homemade. More processed than I like. IMHO.

We get to go to the State Fair today! Oh joy! One of those things you avoid if at all possible. But Alicia's dance team is performing, so we have to go. First time they've danced there. They dance at 5, but we have to be at the studio at 2. After the performance, we will probably get something to eat and leave. And we'll stay far away from the midway.

Diana -- I haven't been up to state fair in many, many years. I used to show quarter horses when I was a kid and that was a huge show for us every year. I think the last time I showed a horse there was when is was 19. Oh my gosh, that was 25 years ago. That's so saddddd

Have really been busy the last couple of days. Yesterday I went to work for 1/2 day, then went and did shopping for Ashley BD party that was today. Rushed in and put everything away, then picked up Ashley and my girlfriends daughter to take to the high school to get ready for an away football game. Got up there and then went across town for the game. Didn't get home till 10, but waited up till 11:30 when Dale finally got home.

The cleaning lady was supposed to come yesterday, but didn't show up until 8 this morning. Was not happy, went out this morning to get the rest of the stuff I needed and then got back in time to get everything set up for the party. Had 11 11 year olds. We hooked up the karaoke in the living room and the dance dance revolution in the sunroom. They all had seemed to have a good time, but now I am exhausted. Now I know why I hadn't done a BD party at home in a few years.

Now tonight I just want to go to bed, but son is off at a birthday party and I can't go to bed until I hear from him. wahhhhh

Have a great weekend everyone

:flower: Good morning cruisers! :flower:

Happy Sunday! We are finally unpacked from vacation. Now we just have to get a few things put away, our print framed and we should be back to normal. Or as close to normal as we can get.

Next up planning wise is Disneyland!

Good Morning All - Had a great time with gaRry yesterday at Hershey. We were to meet at the park at 11am. Traffic was ssooooo bad we got there just before 2! Wandered around the Chocolate Factory, went on a trolley ride thru the town and a tour of the 'factory' (I kept looking for Willie). Then we had dinner with Jen and Sam (from the holiday cruise). To finish off the day went to see Jen's horse, Boo. She is beautiful. I forgot my camera so no pix, not that you would expect any from me.
