All this talk of rock shrimp is making me hungry - I think I deserve a break and a Smithwick's....no shrimp in the house, perhaps DH will bring back something yummy - as he has now left...of course, that is when the cat (the same one I took to the vet last week $$$$) came in haveing eaten "who knows what". Virgil - do you do cats? Must rest hand now a bloody mess of scratches which comes from shoving hose down cat's trhought to avoid poison from toads.....geeze....so much for my quiet day!

Who wanted to trade kids for cats? :rotfl:

I've never heard of Dixie Crossings. I'm assuming that it has good food? We always have gone to Florida's Seafood and Grill in Cocoa Beach for our rockshrimp.

Sorry - had the name wrong. It is Dixie Crossroads. Here is their homepage
http://www.dixiecrossroads.com/index.html We've never eaten there but I've heard good things about them.

Jim - got a question for you. Mark loves shrimp. Usually gets a couple pounds from Pfelzer every year. Until we heard you and Andy talk about it we've never heard of rockshrimp. Dixie Crossroads list the following: BOAT RUN SHRIMP*ROCK SHRIMP*LARGE SHRIMP

How are they different? Are they served already peeled?

Andy (verandahman) always goes to the one in Titusville and he posted last month that there is a brand new one in Orlando (over by Wet & Wild I think). In fact when he went over in August they weren't open yet but it had the coming soon banner up.

Maybe we should check it out for you, as a service to fellow Double Scoopers. :cool1:

We have tended to shy away from Dixie Crossroads because of the crowds, but to check it out for you will venture in and wait out the line. Actually, Sharon and Lisa can wait in the line. That is right near the Diver's Direct store Matt and I like. They can call us on the cell when we are being seated! :rotfl:

Well, maybe I'm thinking of something else then. The ones I remember were about 2" long or so. Is that right?

Okay, I will take the camera to clear up the issue on what a rockshrimp looks like.

Jim, did you get that link I sent about the Key dive sites?

Yes, but let me firm up a few details, like can we get a boat? Will Red be able to join us?

Stay tuned for tonights report. All will be answered, assuming the drawn butter does not affect the camera! :rotfl:

Put it on Ebay, someone will pay big bucks for it! :rotfl:

The big question for this afternoon is if we take the Jeep or car. If we take the Jeep I have to drive. If we take the car Matt can drive and I can enjoy the pitcher.

Wait, we will take Lisa's convertible, top down, Matt drives, I enjoy the pitcher.....life is good!

I can sell this idea because Matt needs the experience! :rotfl2:

A TOP for me shared with Matt and beer! Mom will be so happy. :rotfl:

Man, all this talk about rockshrimp is making me hungry! :mickeybar
Have you checked out the menu on the Dixie Crossroads web page? My mouth was watering. It doesn't help that a family is having dinner in the library's meeting room with a lot of great smelling food! What's for lunch, honey? I'll be home in 1/2 hour...

I don't know, but we can always go get some shrimp! :rolleyes1

:confused3 So is this an "shifting" issue?? I'm assuming the Jeep is manual transmission.

Is Matt's shifting class, phase II??

I'm home....way too tired and busy to post. Unpacking everything and Re-cleaning my house. Seems that while I was busy visiting Mickey and Minnie, some of THEIR relatives were busy visiting my house. So now another complete scrub from top to bottom. ANd a stupid bridal shower to go to at 4:00. Right at the same time as the Buckeye game. I think this bride is out to sabatoge the OSU season!

Btw, other than Ophelia and the grey skies she caused, the weather was absolutely BEAUTIFUL while I was in Orlando. I did see on the forcast that there will be rain early this next week....but I"m GONE already. I know you've all been dogging me, but I swear it's not my fault! :)

Ok, a little more cleaning before I have to leave for the shower. Blech.
