I might be missing soemthing but Dizrinceses and Kikipug - I did not notice any embarrassment from kids...

The kids were fine. Mary and more especially I were dead tired. We two went on to the dis meet for the member cruise, attended enough to say we did the DVC precruise thing, but then went back to the room where I literally laid down and was out for 2 hours. It was me, not you or yours. I have hearing problems to begin with and being that tired just makes it worse, unfortunately.

Oh, but I did get that r&r! That day we were simply trying to pack way too much in and it caught back up to us and then some. Should have gotten some rest before heading out for meets and we'd have probably been fine. Certainly didn't see us at our best, that is for certain.

Angie -- Hope you are feeling better as well. I get bronchitas and upper respiratory infections all the time. A couple of times it has turned into pnemonia, so please take care of yourself. It is no fun when Mom is sick, because she doesn't get to rest.

I was so proud of my big girl Emily last night. She came home from school and said that her school is collecting money for the Red Cross. She said that she wanted to take money out of her own piggie bank to give to people that have lost everything in the hurricane. So, we counted out her money. She had almost $10 and decided to take in $2.

I love the stories of the kids donating...With all the negativity and finger pointing, it is so rewarding to see the kids generously and quietly offering so much of themselves, without hesitation. They are also welcoming the kids into their schools and friendship circles without skipping a beat...Society could learn a thing or two from our children...

That is great to hear that the kids are so accepting of the new children in their school! I don't think there are any evacuees attending Emily's school. But, she's fully aware of what is going on because of how it has impacted family & friends. She has seen me boxing up clothes to send out to people. It's amazing what a 5 year old can pick up on. I don't think she really has a concept of how much she has nor how much she was donating. I was very proud of her for wanting to help.
