So are the Scubas in WDW both days? We need to tell Jim something.

We're thinking no Alaska in 2007. Back to the Caribbean. Back to back Eastern and Western cruises?

A TOP with Jim! And he's not even around!

One night, Gary Delana asked everyone in the Walt Theater, to give a clap to show where you were from.. Dave and I were the ONLY ones to clap from FL!!! About 80% of the group was from CA. Gary said to Dave and I.........what's wrong with you people????
Why did you come all the way out here to sail!!!!! :rotfl:

Which west coast cruise were you on? We were on the first west coast cruise and we did feel out numbered by the CA people. Our excuse was that we had just arrived on the westbound repo cruise. Gary Delana is one of our favorite performers, we gave him a pair of pink pajamas with penguins on the bottom. He got a good laugh from those. Alex :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

First Timers, I love the theme you have going here. I guess as long as DCL keeps thinking up new itineraries, you'll be there! Looking forward to cruising with you!

Karen - sorry to hear about Matt. We will keep his family in our prayers.

We got to meet Amanda and Irene today. Patty - sorry we missed you! We had to leave to get over to the Member event.

Had a great time at the DIS meet until the rain started. The DVC party was great fun. We did one show at the Comedy Warehouse. Left early as we are beat.

We started the day with Dee from the 10 day cruise. Trying to talk her into joining us on this one!

On the 21 days with the westbound repo/west coast cruise, we gained only one pound. We walked 2-4 miles a day around deck 3 and avoided deserts (most days). Shari (spros) walked with us on the repo cruise and convinced us to walk the Disney 1/2 marathon in Jan 2006. Alex :jumping1:

You know, even I didn't gain weight on the 10 day cruise. I didn't walk that much, but I kind of got tired of eating rich food every day. By the end, it was just a few bites of everything. Except for Palo, of course!

Wish I had that problem... never happens to me... maybe I need to 'experiment' by taking a 10-day... just to see if I'd get sick of all the rich food...

I haven't started dinner yet....I ate today, and am not hungry...so it's hard to think of what to fix.

We aren't really big eaters on the cruises, not all the fancy, heavy meals. It's the desserts that kill me!

We were on the second cruise down the Mexican Riviera......looks like we'll be on the 11 night with you, First Timers!

Anyway.....Puerto Vallarta. Like I said, we went to John Huston's place, and it's located basically at the far end of PV....beautiful ocean views, the flowers and plants there are so pretty. The food was outstanding. If I could live there, I think I would love PV. After we got back from the excursion, we grabbed a cab to go shopping. I liked that the street where the main shops were located was on the ocean. That's basically all we saw of PV, so it's hard to form a good impression from just that.

Mazatlan....we decided to just grab a van and ask the driver to show us around. It was actually a really great tour! He took us to all of the high points, to see the Cliff Divers, to the old and newer sections of the city. We saw some really beautiful homes (one owned by a family from Phoenix) and then into the city to walk around the marketplace and go through the old church. He also took us past the cannery, and down to where the shrimp & fishing boats are, as he used to work down there. They were selling huge buckets of shrimp and lobster right on the street! I'd have to say that we are probably about the only cruisers who got to go into the dockyard....and to us, it was all very interesting. He told us more about Mazatlan, past and present, than we could have learned in a weeks' visit. It's definitely not a pretty place, but we really enjoyed our time there.

Cabo....yes. Beautiful, clean, upscale. I could almost live there. If it weren't still Mexico. We'd hired (on our own) a private yacht to take us snorkeling...and I found that I could live that kind of life.
We went into the city to shop after we returned, and for the most part, it was the same as any of the others. The shops and restaurants were a little more "upscale" and cleaner. But we were still stopped every two steps by people asking for donations "for the children".....but we felt safe, and it was an easy walk to the shops.

I actually think we enjoyed it more than we thought we would. Since we're from Arizona, and see a lot of the Mexican culture right here, we weren't too sure that we cared to see more of it.....but being on the Magic was fantastic, especially after flying only an hour....

Okay...that was long. Did someone ask to hear all that???

We been messing around today. Took Alicia to dance and then we went to see the new remake of Bad News Bears. A boy in her school is supposedly in the movie and see want to spot him. Finally made the connection at the movies end.

We are off to eat Indian food. Love that chicken Vindaloo!!

Mexican was yummy!

PV and Maz. were NOT our favorite spots. On our own, we had booked excursions, that required a good bit of travel time from the ship, to the excursion. I was shocked at some of what I saw. Cabo was wonderful, and We'd vacation there again.

Well.......I better go...........I have a BUSY day of laundry to do tomorrow, Satce. ;)

Diana - Why no Alaska?

To be honest, Sue, I was the only one enthused about it. Alicia likes warm water to dive in, and Kevin just really likes diving in the Caribbean. So I guess if it ain't broke, don't fix it!

Fran,

We are returning back home next year out of Tampa instead of Orlando. That was the only flight I could get using Frequent Flyer Miles. We have an early morning flight on Saturday morning, June 10. Do you know what is a good place to stay near the airport. I think we will go over early on Friday, so we can check out Tampa. Never been there before and I would like to check it out.

Thanks for any help.

Hope everyone gets to enjoy the long weekend. Ashley's birthday was on Thursday, but because it was a school night we didn't celebrate. We are waiting until tomorrow night when her brother gets back from his youth mission trip to go out. We are delaying her birthday party for two weeks. Bad to try and have a party on a holiday weekend.

Well....we had a big surprise tonight! We had ocean front property! At least it certainly looked like it.
It started pouring rain at about 6:00....we had a good 3" in less than an hour. The flooding was just below our guest house. It hasn't been that high or close to the house since the huge flood in 1993. It went back down quickly, but what a mess!
We walked down after the water had receeded somewhat, with flashlights....and it is astounding. I'll take pictures tomorrow....it's so hard to even picture.
There were sheriffs at the crossings, I don't know if someone got stupid and tried to cross, or if they were just there to keep people from being stupid.
It tore one of the neighbor's fence down, which means by morning, their horses will be in our yard...unless they have them in the barn already.
What a surprise.
Megan and Pete have been staying in our guest house....they weren't here and didn't get home. They are in a hotel tonight and will be cleaning out the apartment tomorrow so that they can turn on the A/C there for tomorrow night. It will be at least Monday before we can cross the creek....and that's only if we can get a backhoe out here to clean the trees out of it. Labor Day weekend, too.....won't be easy to find someone.
Good thing we have food and milk!
