It's really looking good for next weekend. I told the kids that we are doing lunch with 'a bunch of friends', and then trying to get Elizabeth & Taylor together at EPCOT afterward. Let me know if you're plans change, Amanda... we're flexible.

Right now, we have a closing date of 9/12, with hopes of at least moving all the boxes into the new garage on 9/11 if the sellers will cooperate.

Good Luck - and no storms that week to prevent closings either!!!

Angie- prayers for your parents are on the way... looks like they've got quite a mess headed in their direction.

I need them too - have laundry from the week and the trip - due to trip and other "more improtant things", no yard work is being done...Need a yard fairy.....

Hi all!

My parents decided to stay put. I talked to them at 7 Eastern and they were all fine but had lost power at 4 Eastern. They are on the west side so they feel they will be spared somewhat. All other family & friends have left the area. I'm worried about friends' & families' homes in Slidell, LA and Diamondhead, MS. We'll just have to wait and see. I'm watching video feed from a New Orleans station. It sounds like they're breathing a little sigh of relief. Please continue to keep everyone in the path in your prayers.

Thanks for the update. I was glad to hear the storm was downgraded to a 145 mph -- good news for New Oleans is bad news for elsewhere.

I'm not so sure that New Orleans got spared. I've read reports that there is 3' of water on the street at the Superdome and that windows have been blown out at the high rise hotels in the Central Business District.

My parents are still safe. I've tried to get in touch with friends on their cells but am not getting through.
