That neanderthal Johnny Damon wouldn't let them cut his hair!

Because this is the 2nd time he has grown it out for "Locks of Love"... he's NOT a neanderthal... he's raised a lot of $$ for a good cause... but he DOES look terrible.

A TOP with Stace & JohnnyD!!!

Okay, then....I take back the "neanderthal" comment. That's a good cause.

Kitchen remodel Show & Tell! Posted some pics of mine.

The first picture, I'm standing at the edge of the kitchen, looking toward the spot where I do my "DIS-ing" ...the rest are of the kitchen & breakfast bar.

Oops...I messed up on one, and had to add it to the front.

You should have seen how awful it was before we remodeled. And we lived in it for 14 years before we changed it all.
The floor tile was my design. The tile guys showed me the samples of the patterns they do, and I told them I wanted it a different way. They didn't want to do it, but after some discussion, they did it. Then they wanted to take pictures of it. I wouldn't let them. I had a feeling my pattern would have shown up in a whole bunch of other houses.
We had the same discussion about the copper back splash tiles...they tried to tell me my pattern wouldn't fit under the cabinets. I'd already measured, I knew it would fit!
It was a lot of fun to do, but I never want to remodel again!

I absolutely LOVE your tile - such pretty colors. While I love my hardwood floors in the living areas, it's starting to show its wear in the kitchen - too much knife dropping going on. Our house in NV had tile in the kitchen and I loved it.

My mom has wood floors in her dining room and breakfast area, they are a lot of work to maintain!!
The tiles that I have can be bought at Home Depot....definitely not expensive. I had looked at stone flooring....way too much money.

I liked the mixture of the colors, too. They actually sell these as two different color schemes....and when I said I wanted them all mixed, I got some funny looks from the tile guys...but they did it.
Megan doesn't like it....she says it looks like a clown threw up all over. I love kids....they can be brutally honest!

Maria & Stacey - both of your kitchens are beautiful!

We carve - give me a good - large - knife any day....Besides the added blood makes it look realistic.....want to send the kids down my way :teeth:

When we get back from FW - I'll see if I can post some pics of past years creations...
A jigsaw works really good!!!

Stacey---LOVE your kitchen, too. Is that a Viking double oven? B-u-tiful. Who likes to cook at your house? Only someone that likes to cook would have a kitchen like that. Or a chef??? Like Oprah...:rotfl:

Gotta go..that darn school bus should be pulling up soon. Have a great day people.

Thanks for all the compliments on my kitchen. I love it...that's all that matters.

TTFN,
Maria

That sign says "Be Careful How You Address The Queen"
And the towel hanging from the oven says "The Queen Does Not Cook".

Before anyone thinks that I think really highly of myself...there is a loooong story about the "Queen" title.....given enough Banfi, I may tell that story one day.
But maybe for now, I'll just go with "Closet Queen"....:rotfl:

Viking is out of my price range....that's a JennAir.
I had these grand visions of actually cooking in that kitchen.....:sad2: turns out, the counter space is handy for holding all the store-ordered party trays when we entertain!!

All this kitchen talk, here is a before and after picture of a recent kitchen we did.

Enlarged the galley style kitchen approximately 3' into the living room.

NO CHRISTMAS TREES!!! No wonder your dog is grumpy! No house should be without a Christmas tree.

(OK... I'll be politically correct here and rephrase that as 'no house that celebrates Christmas should be without a Christmas tree... no wait... I take that back... I'm NEVER PC.)

It's a long story that goes back to my childhood when my mother ran over the Easter bunny the night before Easter. She killed the Easter bunny.

I ran over a Christmas Tree on I-75 on Christmas Eve and killed Christmas.

We are working through all the holidays. Thanksgiving will be next.

Oh that's right, Sharon and I will be on a cruise this Thanksgiving so we don't have to mess with all the cooking, family, etc. Instead I will be diving in Cozumel.

Hey, when are you going to do that to OUR kitchen? We have an OK kitchen (it had been remodeled when we bought the house), but it's so small that if we're both in there and we turn around, we run into each other.

Just think of it as "intimate".

Here's hoping you don't run into a turkey or pig next.

No turkey or ham would be tough! :earseek:
