I can't believe that I'm not getting blamed for it too..... but I didn't have it when I visited OM.....

See, he doesn't want to carry both. But then again, you might need your information a little quicker than he does. He has all the books he needs in his office, but you're decisions need to be made a little quicker most times! If he stalls, the worst that happens is someone gets peeved they've been waiting too long!

Good Morning All - My ex has been gone for 20 years, he is now out of state, and my Dad died in '99. I still get junk mail for both of them! OM, let me know if the stamp works, please.

It worked for my brother. I'm hoping it works for me. I got mine online at staples.com but they transferred me over to marktheworld.com ...free shipping now too. Mine will be (if I remember correctly) 1 3/8 inch x 2 7/8 inch, self inking and it was 15.99 (no shipping, no tax)

I stop by the trash can on the way into the house when I pick up the mail. Bugs me less than all the Out of Area calls we get. And we're on the Do Not Call list!

But all of the credit card offers (I'll bet we get at least 2 a day) get shredded. I used to send back their pre-paid envelopes...empty. Let them pay for postage and not get anything! Now they have the "customer locator code" on the envelope with a warning that if I tamper with it, they'll prosecute me!

Can I avoid junk mail in prison???

(Thankfully, after 3 weeks of fighting with BellSouth and our former phone/cable company, we got our regular number back... which, happily, gets very few telemarketing calls.)

We don't get many either. If we do, I listen to their intial spiel and then tell them I'm not interested. If they go on about it I push a little button we have that goes:

BING, BING...(bell chimes that is) This number does not accept this type of call. This is your official notification to remove this number from your calling list. Thank you.

Then it repeats and then disconnects the line.

I keep pushing it when my family calls, but they keep calling!

So is it true that we need to get our cel phones on that list now? Alicia came home one day and told me that telemarketers are going to get access to cel phone numbers. Surely not!

In light of the news of the so-called human cloning going on, we have to ask
ourselves the hypothetical question:

If you pushed your naked clone off the top of a tall building, would it be:

A ) murder
B ) suicide
C ) merely making an obscene clone fall?

We had a 'temporary' number for the first 3 weeks at our new house, while our old # was being 'sorted out' and given back to us... long story... yet within 1 day of our 'new' phone number being activated, we were getting telemarketing calls, not just 'blind' calls, but calls asking for us by name.... certainly doesn't take long for them to jump on new info!!!

Sounds like BellSouth is selling the names and numbers for that "extra" income to me!!

I was thinking (not a good sign) that I might stop at my local Verizon place (my cell service is Verizon) and see what they have to say. I maybe should just get a different phone, and do like Mike does...combine. Too much for my pea brain.

Let's see if I can make this simpler....I want to be online (here) while sitting at the doctor's office...and places like that.....BUT....I want something (if there is such a device) that I can also get a connection with when we're cruising.

Read in the paper, August time frame, Verizon was standing firm on not releasing cell phone numbers. That is not selling the numbers. So far so good.

I put our cell phones, home, and office on the Do Not Call list.
So now, we get calls with a person's name on the caller I.D. They must use fake names in order to get through. Usually those callers get a piece of my mind. No wonder I have so little left!

I thought about that....the phone number and address....but I'm thinking someone would have to know about the site and go to it...it's not a very "public" forum.
