just jump in. Tell us mundane things about what's going on in your life. We all care!! Tell us what you end up having for breakfast tomorrow. I mentioned we were having chicken last night and there were a bunch of posts about what kind, and how did it turn out...etc etc....

Jump in, two feet... :)

Well, I will have a lot of time for mundane posts on the weekends, since hunting season starts tommorow morning.... dh will be gone just about every weekend b/t now and Jan 10. I won't be quite as active on weekdays however.... due to a cursed thing called work, lol.

Gotta say, everytime I *meet* a hunter, I flash back to this scene (edited b/c this is a family board):

You were gonna shoot a deer?? A poor, defenseless, doe-eyed little deer?? Imagine you're a deer. You go down to the brook, put your little deer lips down to the cool, clear water... and BAM! a ***** bullett hits you right in the head, your brains are splattered all over the ground. Now I ask ya... would you give a **** what kind of pants the ******** who shot ya was wearin'?

It's OK, Linda. A lot of us have husbands with weird hobbies that take them away on weekends. Hunting is just another one. Mine likes to swim with the fishies.

Hobbies....college football season...I pretty much know what we're doing every weekend. Either here, there or somewhere else. GO Buckeyes!

Cool, a TOP shared with me, myself and my stick poking husband. Oh, and the OSU BUCKS!!!!!

Off to bed.
No where I MUST be tomorrow.
No kids to wake me up early.
No dog to demand attention.

Ahhhhh.....

Hello....my name is Stacey, and I am a DIS-aholic.

This afternoon was another one of running. Jared had a haircut, Jordan went to her friend's, Jay had his softball games....and I tried to get on the boards once in between, but the site was too busy. NOW I know why!! Talk about BLABBERMOUTHS! You guys out-did yourselves! :hyper2: :chat:

WELCOME Linda and family!! You're going to love it here!
Where in Iowa do you live? I was born and raised just across the river, in Omaha. My family still lives there.

I live in Cave Creek, Arizona.....just north of Phoenix and Scottsdale. My DH's name is Jay, and our DD, who is 15 is Jordan (middle name EMILY!) and our son is Jared, he's 12. We also have a daughter who is married, Megan...she's 23.

HEY GUYS....should we warn Linda about gaRry...or let her find out for herself??

Angie...the picture of the girls is darling! Easy to do, when you have such cute little models!!
You're having spinal fusion? Do you have broken vertebrae? I'm curious about it...I have Spondylolisthesis...L4, L5-S1....and have even been to the Barrow Neurological Institute, but they have all told me that the surgery (for me, anyway) is too risky.
I used to pray that someone would/could do the surgery.....now that I am getting older, I'm scared to death of it. Mine has been this way since I was 14. I have good days, and bad days....and a really high pain threshold. There are so many things that I've done that the doctors told me I'd never be able to do....and I have enjoyed proving them wrong. It may make my life more difficult in the end, but I think it's been worth it. Mostly. They told me to never have kids....that I wouldn't be able to carry full term, or deliver. Well, I didn't deliver...had C-Sections...but I had them. Now I'm beginning to doubt the wisdom of that choice! LOL Just kidding!

Ang...hang in there....I will REALLY be thinking of you and praying!!

Well, the good thing is that hunting season is only 4 months out of the year. I get even with him during the other months... I am a scrapbooker and I attend all day crops (and an occasional weekend retreat) at least a couple times a month during the rest of the year.

We live in a small town about 30 miles from Des Moines, called Winterset. Remember the movie Bridges of Madison County?? That's Winterset.

And if there is ANYTHING that I need warned about, please PLEEASE warn away..... teach me everything I need to know!! :teacher:

Angie, good luck in your surgery... this is one of the surgeries the docs that I work for do. They do brain and spinal surgery. Hope everything goes well for you and you have a great and speedy recovery.

Stacey, sorry for the pain you have to live with. Kudos to you for accomplishing everything that you have. You must be one tough lady!

This is our towns "block party" weekend so both kids are marching in the parade. Sharon and Lisa are off to a gymnastics meet after that, just to watch her friends compete. Matt has homework and I have to make some Twinkee Tiramisu for tonight.

What an exciting weekend. I won't even "get to swim with the fishes".

Good morning Cruisers!
We sail in 34 weeks!

Woo Hoo - Another week closer to cruising!

Good Morning All - Welcome Linda and family. I picked up my new glasses yesterday and then went to the library. What a difference the prescription change has made!

Good morning Sue - I'm heading off to the eye doctor myself this morning. It's been too long.
