Elizabeth INSISTED on wearing the same dress as the bride when she was a flower girl... it was absolutely beautiful... if you ever know anyone who needs an understated, ivory satin gown in a 6X, I've got just the thing.

Hmmm ... Emily will be almost 6 next year at the time of the cruise. Would a 6x fit? She's a little skinny-minny (just like her mom)!

edited b/c I have NO idea why I put "3 loads of laundry" !!!!!!!!!! I think I was thinking about my THREE hour nap. I've done like 7 loads of laundry.
Duh!

I think you win on the laundry this weekend. I'm off now to put away the 5 loads I did this weekend.

Guess I'll head over to the Cruise thread and see what all the fuss is about. There's a big formal wear thread over there every few months.

Does anyone else remember the lady whose husband absolutely refused to pack anything but shorts? She was planning on going to dinner every night without him.

How could I ever forget that woman and her no-pants husband. She was also on the norwalk cancelled cruise and dumped her assorted neuroses all over the cruise board that entire month after. And was banned. And is still around as newholidayx2. Thankfully she stays far away from anyplace I read.

After spending 4 hours on the phone with Microsoft I was willing to try the Geek Squad! Willing to try anything.

Now I am having problems with the Nortons.

Any exactly why do we have computers?

KT is sad b/c not only does she miss the OSU game, but she has to wear a black dress. I told her that it's the bride's choice and we do what she says even if she's not in her right mind!!

I thought she would be wearing the black dress to the OSU game, especially when they are playing UM or MSU!


BTW, Mike and Joan want to know when you are coming down. They want to meet Mike.

Looks like from what's being posted about formal night that we might not attend. We'll see. We're both in tech fields so RARELY dress up. I wear jeans & shorts to work. DH wears khakis at best. He doesn't own a suit - only a sport coat & dress slacks. From what I've read, that would be appropriate for semi-formal, but not formal. I don't own a formal gown either and am not sure I want to spend over $100 (I know, most like $200) for a gown that would be worn once. That may be a good night for Palo's for us.

For our 1st cruise - Dh couldn't fit into his suit - so he wore dress pants and a sports coat - It was a jacket and a tie - (our table mate wore a hawaiian shirt with his jacket - but, that's another story)...we've been on two other RCCL and one DCL - he's never worn a tux...I've worn everything from a cocktail dress (max I've paid is $90 ) to a little black dress...Even DCL isn't as stuffy formal as the thread is making it seem. The most formal was our 10 day Panama Canal Cruise with RCCL - and even then no tux. IMO, Sports Coat, dress slacks and a tie would be just fine... (Please don't make me get out my flame retardent suit, here...)

Our agreement is - if he wears the tie - I'll wear the 4 inch heels (and pray the seas are calm...)

Believe me, I have considered it MANY times. The main problem I have is the many different programs that I would have to buy again or do without using the Mac system.
I understand that you can get the PC interface program that will run the PC programs, but it's slow and cumbersome. That's not what I want either.

Depends on what programs - but Virtual PC works quite well..... The best thing though is to wait until the Mac moves to the Intel chip (so called MacTel)... Then you'll be able to run Mac OSX all of the time and switch to Windows only when you need to.

That's what it's called (couldn't think of Virtual PC)

Heard the Mac gang was changing over to Intel chips. I'm in no big hurry and the way Jobs works, it might be awhile anyway!!
