Wow... that sure sounds familiar!!!!!! (I make very weak coffee...)

Yea... a TOP shared with Diana, poor cooking skills and bad coffee!!!pirate:

I've got to set this straight, Kevin makes great coffee, but the good cook in the family is me. By coincidence, I also read recipes.

Short answer, a fan with water saturated pads sitting in front of it. Works pretty well in dry climates. Kevin will probably be along to give you the long answer.

Hey Guys, I think I am ready to start doing the email pen pal thing with my kids.....Is anyone ready to start letting the kids chat but with out mentioning this particular cruise? My kids still do not know that we are going...

Elizabeth just asked me how to get an e-mail pen pal yesterday... and she doesn't know we're going either!!!

It's also called an evaporative cooler. It looks like an air conditioning unit, and ours is on the roof. It has four cooler pads (one on each side) and water runs through the pads in a constant stream, as the outside air is drawn through the pads, it's cooled, and then vented into the house. They actually work really well and are economical, in low humidity areas.

Dry climates... no wonder I didn't know what it was... we've had over 19 inches of rain in Central FL this month... and will probably get more before midnight...

Amanda, I don't think many of us have been on the Wonder. When we first looked at cruising we both said "oh yeah, longer has GOT to be better".

WOW! That last page flew by! TOP with Amanda!

I've never had a cup of coffee in my life. When DH and I got married, he showed me how to make coffee. I guess I forgot how much coffee to put into the filter, and was making it very watered down until I got a couple of gentle reminders of how to do it right.

Stace does it have a thermostat that you can control? I would assume not, but what do you do if you get really hot? Do you have central A/C to fall back on?

Sandi, you still don't drink coffee? I thought that was a required course in college!

Darn, I was hoping one of you hd done this one. We can only get away with so many days of having someone else look after our kids, so these romantic cruise with just the 2 of us, have to be short and sweet......But I am ever so grateful to have them! This will nly be our 2nd time doing this...God willing next Sept it will be our 3rd time and it will be the 1st 7 day without the kids....I havent even thought about who will keep the kids then!

We did that on our first cruise. The kids were 8 and 11. We loved it. The best part...they had PEPSI! The worst part...the Kool-Aid. But the beach was nice and there were a lot of things to do....and a lot of hammocks to do nothing in. We really wanted a "beach" experience, and I think this is about the only way you'll get that in Nassau. We did snorkel over there, too. It wasn't half bad. The food was hotdogs, hamburgers, and chicken...and it, too, was okay. Not gourmet, but we did have a good time.
The 2nd Wonder trip, we did a catamaran snorkel....total waste of time and money. We don't really care to see Atlantis, so if we went on the Wonder again, I'd do Blue Lagoon again.

I am like Sandi, in that I don't drink coffee. I have tried it, but it is just not my thing. I would much rather have a cold soda.......Although I have been known to pop into Barnes and Noble every so often for a Caramel Frap! I love those things! Caramel is my undoing!

The coolers operate on a thermostat, just like the air conditioning. It actually makes the house much cooler than the A/C....until we hit our "monsoon" season and the humidity goes up. We do have central A/C also, but not everyone does.

Caleb is ready to e-mail, but he knows about the cruise. It wouldn't be bad, though, because I do his typing for him, so I could 'help' him be discreet.

Oh am I glad to hear that Stacey! We did Catamaren sail and snorkel last year and we enjoyed ourselves. We wanted to try something different this year, and this looked to be the best option. So there is snorkeling there? Do we have to bring our own sets or will they provide them? I didn't think so, but from your post it sounds like food was included in the price? Do you have pics from your time there??
