Virgil,

With all the Apple talk, we are now talking about the possibility of getting an Apple laptop. Diana saw the ibooks, and of course, I like the Power books!! Gotta admit, for me its the faster processor and larger screen that just works.

However, being a long time PC user I don't know much about the Apple line. The bundled software sounds foreign to me. What kind do you have? and what kind would you buy if you were buying??

I liked the 14" ibook because it weighed under 5 pounds! This would be our travel laptop, and my workout while DISing laptop!

I have a 15" PB - last years 1.5ghz - the new are 1.67.... I absolutely love it - just the right size..... 80gig hard drive, 128mb video card...

Frances has a 12" PB - it's ok - a little too small for me - but she loves it. Kristin has the same at school.....

The 17" is too big IMHO - it would be a good desktop replacement - but too big for day to day on the road use - they are nice though......

I'll explain more about the software later....if you want....

The iBooks are nice..... just a little bit different in configuration.... Depends on what you are going to use it for.

Go to Store.apple.com and click on Hotdeals. They have refurbed PBs and iBooks all of the time - Frances is a refurb - and it has the same 1 year warranty as a new one - then you can buy a 2 year extended warranty. The only reason I bought a new one is I had to spend my expense account last year......

:flower1: Good morning cruisers! :flower1:

Happy Thursday!

Feeling better so back to work I go!
I don't know what is wrong with me an typo's. I've made some real stupid ones lately. I also must be really stupid because I can't figure out what Irene is talking about on the sign. Is it a typo or am I missing some other fun at my expense.:confused3

So, I asked him if he would mind if my boyfriend still came over...:rotfl2: What a joker I am. WHY would I want another guy? One is MORE than enough.

HA HA! I can't even stay to read all of the posts, but I had to comment on this one....

The fact of the matter is....If I had the time for an affair, I throw in another load of laundry!!!

Stacey - did you lose one of your tags as well. I didn't think you could edit a colored tag fairy tag without losing them all?

What's a Stave Church?

All in fun, I swear! In my next life, I want to be an editor.

But see... that's my problem... editing used to BE part of my job, and now I can't help but notice every spelling error and typo... I wish I could just ignore them like a 'normal' (yeah, like you guys are normal) person!

But its not the same... it needs to be a result of a wonderful vacation, or its just not the same! So, I must take more vacations to tropical locales til I find one! I'm on a turtle quest!

Someone please find me a quite brass puppy!
Have you checked with the Humane Society??? :confused3 I don't have a brass one, but can I interest you in an overgrown greyhound that drools when she sleeps? I wish we could say, "House for sale, complete with dog."

Mary- great sign! If we need any other large scale printing done for our cruise, let me know... the new printer that I just got in our GD shop prints 5ft wide by up to 200 ft. long. (We could run a "Double Scoop" banner along the whole side of the ship... they'd know we had 'taken over' (see 'other' thread for reference to 'taking over the ship'.) )

Well, lets see... I'm sitting here DIS'ing when quarterly budgets are due to corporate by tomorrow, and I have a presentation to write for my meeting in WPB next Monday... guess I should get started on ONE of those things!!

Ooh... a big fat TOP to start the day! pirate:

That's what I was thinking. As you read, Diana wants it for traveling so it should be smaller. But I can't type on the really small ones, so the 15" sounds like a nice compromise to me.

More on the software would be helpful. Thanks!

Computer tutoring and a history lesson, this is WAY beyond fluff folks!! :rotfl2:

Not that we don't have plenty of time but since people are talking about it in the thread on the main board. Have we given thought to linking dinner reservations.

On our last cruise we had two people handling it. One for early dining and one for late dining. People could request if they wanted to sit at a large table with lots of other DIS'ers or if they wanted a table for 4 with their own family but near the others. Worked out really well.

Anyone want to volunteer to start this up? You need to have the full names and room numbers of all those you are linking with. Reservation numbers help as well.

Sorry, Virgil. I guess I'm too conformist to go the Apple route. I'm typing my first post on my new Dell notebook. Even though it's replacing another laptop, it truly is a desktop replacement. I rarely take my laptop anywhere, although it did go to WDW and on our first cruise. this one is actually a 17", so is a lot heavier than my last one. I've got the wireless mouse with it, too. Very nice. :)
