REMINDER - take class in person - but first - locate class at great resort - second - get boss or confirmation of tax deduction - to pay for room at great resort to take class. Third - sign up for sessions on Thursday and Friday morning so you have to stay over the weekend...Finally, if applicable con (request) MIL or friends to watch assorted kids and/or pets because you are so stressed taking the class.

PS - do good in class so you get re-imbursed......

Let's remember..........I'm a public school teacher. Not many taxpayers would want to foot THAT bill...............But I LOVE your thinking!!!!!!!!!!
Usually, when teachers have to take a class.......we're on our own. :guilty:

I completed a WHOLE section yesterday, so I guess I better follow my plan from yesterday, and NOT look at this board all day. :sad2:

That's what I was thinking... nice idea, though!

I remember the most hysterical course that I took online was a course that I took in grad school... the subject matter was 'how to conduct a class online'. We had real class time, and specified online 'lecture 7 chat' time, but we were like a bunch of DIS'ers (including the professor, who was the worst in the bunch.) We were lucky to ever get through a night's real 'lesson' without the fluff totally taking over. So much for 'classroom control'. (Then once we got offline, we'd meet for drinks...)

That is why I'm hesitating in completing a degree online. I've done online classes before, but they were 'work related'. Plus it doesn't seem like I'd be getting my money's worth, since the online classes cost just as much as the traditional classes. I'm hesitating with both media because I feel too old to go back to school, but the longer I wait the older I'll get. Anyone ever take classes from University of Phoenix? They're the one that I hear about most often.
I :worship: school teachers. Especially after helping at VBS with over 140 kids in attendance. You deserve every penny you get, plus some.

Not that we don't have plenty of time but since people are talking about it in the thread on the main board. Have we given thought to linking dinner reservations.

On our last cruise we had two people handling it. One for early dining and one for late dining. People could request if they wanted to sit at a large table with lots of other DIS'ers or if they wanted a table for 4 with their own family but near the others. Worked out really well.

Anyone want to volunteer to start this up? You need to have the full names and room numbers of all those you are linking with. Reservation numbers help as well.

With a bit of guidance - I'd be happy to work on it, if no one else steps forward. Let me get through the musical first...

And it is only pennies. It is the only job I know of where you have to buy your own supplies also!! God bless all :teacher:

Now there's a profound 'milestone' post for your post #200... we have a 'rule' around here that 'milestone' posts must be 'profound'. (And boy, is there a wide range of profound-ness around here!!!!) Way to go!

Happy Thursday!

Feeling better so back to work I go!
I don't know what is wrong with me an typo's. I've made some real stupid ones lately. I also must be really stupid because I can't figure out what Irene is talking about on the sign. Is it a typo or am I missing some other fun at my expense.:confused3

Glad you are feeling bettere - but I think you gave me your bug!

Irene is lost - honest - nothaving fun, but I cannot see what is on your page that was not on your page previosly. Or is it like changing the Avator - it goes back and changes al your prior posts when you had a different one?

Are you talking aout the little paint guy - if so, I confess I did not miss him.

Like I said - Irene is lost :confused3 :confused3

Diana - a Stave Church is a Medieval Wooden Churches in Norway. They have one in Epcot.

My post originally - sorry I did not answer - thanks Mary -

There is quite a history to Stave churches and if you have not taken the time to slowly walk through the one at Epcot, please do. The feel, sight and smell is perfect.

We have been lucky to have visited Norway and seen about 3 of those still standing. We also have seen Greenstead Church in Essex England, the oldest wooden curch 800 ad... I have a Liliput Lane of Greenstead and did not buy the Stave church because it was chipped....next time I paint the chip.

Thanks for asking and thanks for answering.

Irene, I go to Estate sales every week. If I see a Lilliput Lane Stave Church, I'll pick it up. Same with the brass puppy, though I still need to know what breed?

Mary, I'll handle second seating arrangements. Stacey will help me, she's the pro.

Laptop Update

Dell - Inspiron 2200

with upgrades and wireless -

website was running specials for small businesses.

DD has a Dell laptop, we haven't been that happy with it. I think it's more a problem with the OS than anything else. It has XP Home.

Irene, Mary had a picture of the DIS Meet banner on her post. It sounds like you couldn't see it for some reason.

Virgil, I looked at the refurbs, they don't have Airport Express on them. Sounds like a program that we want!

Irene - on that post was a picture of the Dis sign (with Bear in the background). Did it not show up for you?

Dell gets my vote for a laptop, too. I've got an Inspiron 5150, and I love it, love it, love it! (just bought it last year, but of course, that model is already discontinuted). I don't have any problems with it, however, I run XP Professional, as I need the heavy-duty platform to run some of our specialized space planning software (yawn).

Whatever you get, spend the extra $ for the extended life battery... mine will go 6 hours of 'normal' computing, or about 3 hours as a DVD player.

Finally - and it is so cute, I would have remembered BEAR.

When it was first posted I was on DH 'puter and he had diabled photos - due to old dial-up system. I had to back track through posts to find it.

Thanks for putting up with the crazy
