We know about that one. Diana's b-day is May 4, Anniversary is May 7, and then mothers day is close behind. So I just lump them together, usually something nice (just ask her). This year, when asked what she wants. She says: "Victoria and Albert's"! Looks like I'm buying......

Yeah, I don't know what I was thinking when I picked May 7 for our wedding. But we've made two trips to WDW during that week, and that was fun!

And we will be there during your June 2-5 trip, Kikipug. I think it's time to tell the kids!

The rate at POR is the current AP rate for that period, if you've included tax. I got the same rate for a moderate the weekend of the 5th. Not the best AP discount they've ever offered, but the best we will get I think. Lots of people booking rooms for the 50th celebration.

So Scubas, have you thought about buying a condo in Orlando, near WDW? Seems like you will be spending lots of weekends there!

My Dad & I planned a surprise birthday party for my mom one year. Mom went to the grocery store and ran into a friend of ours who just happened to be there, picking up Mom's cake. Of course, my Mom is so nosy, she just had to ask what the cake was for, since she knew it wasn't any of Robin's family's birthdays! I was sooooo disappointed that the surprise was ruined. But it was still a great party!

And after my Dad bought my Mom's present, he always thought he "needed" a new tennis racquet! What is it with you guys???

I never remind Jay about my birthday. It's this stupid game I have played for years. And he almost always loses. This year, I think Jordan reminded him. (I hate it when someone helps him cheat) But I got some really nice flowers!
What is it with us women????? Not happy if they are reminded, not happy if they forget.......geesh.:confused3

Frances' birthday is easy - as it's Christmas eve..... I actually forgot to call Kristin on Sunday - as it was her 20th...... Oh well - I was in DC at meetings.... so I emailed her....LOL

Lauren's and mine are 6 months apart - so at least the day is the same....

Just tell Elizabeth you meet me somewhere and found out I have a daughter going to middle school with her next year. I will introduce her to Lisa's friends KT, Nick, etc. However, I can't vouch for Lisa being able to keep much of a secret.

Is that a rhetorical question???

See below

Hey honey, Is now a good time to mention that I need some new dive gear?

:sad2: We've had several "Mean Mom" incidents....but I think yours is the first "MEAN DAD" !

Do you remember the talk we all eventually have with our kids about the difference between "wants" and "needs" ??? Think about that.......

I set such a good example for my children with that "wants" and "needs" thing....:guilty:

:rotfl: That reminds me of the year, John decided for his birthday, he wanted a new digital camera. But, to go along with the digital camera when it arrived, he "needed" a computer with more memory to handle more Photoshop capabilities plus a new photoquality printer that could print 11x14...

I think we would just have to tell our kids that you are a "DIS board friend", and not say anything about cruising. By now, they will understand.

Explaining it to Kevin's adult kids might be even more fun. "So, we're meeting up with some friends we've never met".

Yeah, will all the internet safety concerns - our PTA addressing this topic at next meeting - I bet at the top of the "do not do's list- frequent discussion forums, divulging personal information, arrange meetings with people you've met through the internet... :rolleyes1

Did you guys see the thread on the main cruise board about an RCCL ship crashing in the pier in Costa Maya? Can you say oppps!

OK, DH and I couldn't hold it in any longer. We told DS about the cruise and all of the other '94's that were going to be going. He's so thrilled to know that there will be other kids his age and is already wanting to e-mail, now. At least he's not the kind to ask 'how many days until our cruise' too much. We're not planning to be anywhere near WDW or any other DISer's before the cruise, so won't be able to do any mini-meets, unless someone ends up in Central Illinois. I'm kind of glad the 'cat is out of the bag', but it's a little sad that we won't be surprising him (except that we might do a few pre-cruise days at WDW and definitely won't tell him that).

Sandi

And I got a T.O.P!pirate:

I saw that thread, Mary! Would you want to get back on the ship after seeing that??? Holy cow!

Talking about meeting internet strangers reminds me of when I had to tell my Mom that we were going to meet Paul, some strange DIS man from the internet, in Las Vegas. :earseek: She handled it very well. It was just a good thing it was Paul, and not gaRry! ;)
I didn't tell her that I had already met Virgil in Las Vegas...........I'm happy to report that I have now met more DIS women in Las Vegas than I have men!!

Sorry, but I'd never name an animal with that many claws "Stitch." Seeing as the destruction that is possible.

My vote, Magic and Wonder. Sue is nice, she won't mind sharing! :)
