Mary, that's very cool! Will you "spoil" your tip for us? Of course, we'll still buy the book!

Is the Tulum tour the one where you get the chance to snorkel through the cenotes? That kind of appealed to me.

Diana - Tulum is the ruins tour with a beach break. I think the snorkeling might be at Xcaret Eco park, but I'm not sure.

My tip was actually quite a simple one and one I've said here on the boards before. We take sports bottles with us and before leaving on an excursion fill them up with ice on deck 9 and then top off with water. Gives us cool drinks all day. Worked out really well on the 10 day when we went on the Stingray Excursion. After being in the water for over an hour we were able to have a nice cool drink before getting back to the boat dock. We also were able to use the water to rinse off our face masks.

Woo Hoo - got a top shared with Diana!

Stacey- we're doing Tulum too! We finally get to be on an excursion together!

  Whoo Hoo!! I figured we were bound to do it eventually!
I gave the kids a choice of either a boat trip or the ruins, and it was unanimous....RUINS! And Jay was thrilled with that, he loves history.
YEA! :Pinkbounc

They look fascinating, by the way...much bigger than I expected. We were at the Tikal Ruins in Guatemala, gosh....I guess it was 16 years ago....and it was huge....didn't think I'd ever see anything as impressive as that. But Tulum looks great. I'm really excited about it.

We just got home from Baltimore. Had a great time. Enjoyed spending time with DobieLover, sister, and mom. I will be posting a pre-cruise meet picture.

More details tomorrow after I catch up reading all 143 posts I missed!

That part of Mexico is fascinating!! I would absolutely LOVE to dive the Cenotes one day. I would probably have to be a trip down there not on a cruise since it takes more time than is allowed.

That's kind of what we were thinking...in order to see all the sites in the water, we'd need a much longer trip. We may have to save that one for one of our trips with our diving pals.

As much as I love snorkeling more than (almost) anything....I'm really glad Jay & the kids voted to see the ruins. And it's a bonus that there is some "beach" time in there!

Now THAT sounds interesting!!!

That's right, the cenotes are at Xcaret. And they do have an excursion there, but it's a really long day.

Hon, I think she was talking about the diving pals they had before you and Jim. Stacey, you need to start defining "diving pals".

I think we'll try and do the ruins, too..... Definitely would enjoy seeing these....

Happy Monday!

Sounds like we're going to have a good DIS group for the Tulum excursion. We can take it over like we did the Pirates excursion in St. Lucia! :)

Mike and KT have already done the ruins. Wonder if it's time for Nick and I to do them. We'll see if Nick studies those in history next year. That'd be a good tie in!!! :)

My, my, but everyone was busy on the boards over the weekend. I had too much going on, plus beautiful weather, so was working outside. I'm thinking that we'll do the Chacchoban ruins on Costa Maya and will probably do the ATV's in Cozumel. DS is always talking about wanting his own ATV, so we'll give him a 'fix' and some incentive for saving his money for his own one day.

GO ILLINI!:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Of course I'll be busy watching the game tonight. Thankfully I have the day off to lurk on the boards between loads of laundry.

Yup, that's who I'm rooting for too!! I hope Illinois takes it ALL the way!!! My motives might be a little skewed though.....I'm rooting for Illinois for two reasons....

#1 I'll root for Big 10 over anything else.

#2 I want Illinois to win so that they can say they won EVERY SINGLE ONE of their games this year....except ONE.....and that was when they played the OSU BUCKEYES!!!!!!

Great news OM! Yeah, we'll give you that ONE game for a win tonight...

Can you guys suggest an excursion in either Cozumel or Costa Maya for us? We have two boys who will be 10 and 6. I'm not too sure the 6 year old will like the ruins. My oldest would. Thanks.

TTFN,
Maria
