Maybe "Power Shoppers" wasn't the right term. When Stacey and I went shopping in Antigua, we really didn't spend that much money. We just bought a pretty good quantity in a short period of time! I think we did take a look in just about every jewelry store, but didn't buy any of that, either!

Pam, we all went through that last year. The Christmas cruise sailed on Dec. 18, but most of our kids had school until Dec. 22. I guess YOU get the "Bad Parent" award this year! LOL!

This is so weird. Every year for the last several years, the schools have been getting out on the Friday before (like around the 16th, 17th, you know what I mean). I work for the local community college and that Friday is our last day of work before the break. I just can't figure out why the school district thought they had to change. As a working parent and like most of the ones that I know that work, we want our kids our more before Christmas instead of after. My kids will be driving us nuts by January 9 when they go back to school. Oh well,

Pam

Amanda -- I have a couple of questions for you regarding the dolphin swim. I sent the dolphin discovery an email and they responded to me that they could accomodate us for a package. That would entail entrance to the park, the royal swim, the sea lion show and swim with sea lions. This price if $165 vs. $125 for the swim only. If we did the swim only we would still have to pay entrance which would take it to $137. Since you have been there before, do you think the package is worth it?? Also, how much more did you spend on the videos and pictures. If either me or hubby stays out and doesn't participate, would we be able to video tape from land and take pictures, or is it to far out. Do they let you take a water camera?? Sorry I am asking so many questions, but my husband thinks I am crazy for considering this because of the cost, but I have to make a decision pretty quickly. I have emailed them back to see if they can add three more to our group, because I think the other family that will be on the cruise with us might want to attend. They are gone this week for spring break, but when she called me today, she was interested.

How much did you pay for taxi to get there?? Are they taxi vans that could accommodate 7 people and if so, what is a reasonable rate? Sorry that I have rambled so much, but anyone else feel free to jump in if you have any answers to all my "silly" questions.

Thanks,

Pam

Okay, now this is my third post in a row. I am up late and can't sleep. We went out tonight for dinner and then to play Putt-Putt with the kids and of course they had to drive the go-karts and play the games and you know how that goes.

Something really scary happened here today and it has just made me feel sick. A family that was staying at a Howard Johnson here in EP was carjacked today. A man, wife and I believe infant child. They later found the car in Las Cruces, but no sign of the family. This is so scary. The Howard Johnson is just to the back of our property at work. I needed to go in today to take care of somethings and I took the kids with me. We were the only ones in the building for about 3 hours. Of course I locked everything behind me when we came in and security knows when I go in because of the magnetic strip on my card that accesses me to the building. I always feel pretty safe going in and out of my office, but this has freaked me out a bit. Only a back street separates our property line from the back of the Howard Johnson's. Needless to say, I was going to go back tomorrow to finish up some stuff before Monday, but I don't want to go back when no one is around with my kids with me.

Please everyone pray for that family and hope that they are found safe.

Thanks for letting me ramble some more,

Pam

It's Good Friday and the kids have no school today. This is a good thing since Matthew has been fight a bug all week. We finally got his fever down into the low 100. But of course Lisa has gym because we don't let anything get in the away of gymastics.

This is Florida and the beginning of Easter Break so that means the company keeps on coming. DW's family comes today for a short overnighter, but they leave one kid. He is here for the week with us. Matt enjoys that!

Might as well take a TOP since I'm here, again, in the early morning.

Enjoy your Good Friday!

And don't forget what it is about. I know that's not PC, but it still needs to be said.

:flower1:Good morning cruisers!:flower1:

Blessed Good Friday!

Should be a quiet day at work. My client is off as is about 1/3 of the office. Hopefully it will let me catch up on things.

Hope everyone has a great day and those of you with time off enjoy!

We love peeps!

Stale or fresh peeps? -

dh loves leaving them opened on the counter until they get good and stale...I think the bunny purposely delivers them to dh because the peeps are entirely his and he won't discover a chocolate bunny "magically" missing ears...

DD REALLY loves Peeps!! :mickeybar She can make one last for 30min, nibble, nibble, nibble.

I think that is her favorite time of year, because we "let" her eat candy.......

The gym stops for no one or nothing in our house either!
Hope Matt is feeling better... Christopher had that bug twice in the past month... oh what fun...

Thanks for not being PC!!!! It DOES need to be said! Happy Easter!

In terms of peeps... I HATE THEM!!! But a friend of mine who owns a VERY successful gourmet chocolatier shop makes Belgian Chocolate-dipped Peeps... (a good way to wreck great chocolate, if you ask me!!!)

My dh loves them stale and I like them fresh, as do the kids. We split the box and enjoy the sugar high!!!

Mary, thanks for letting me know how to change the fonts, etc. with the WYSIWYG. I can play with the rest of you now.

Scuba diver - you're sooo right about remembering what today represents. I'm getting a little tired of this PC stuff. Can't even say "Merry Christmas" anymore. It's "Happy Holidays". My DH gets so mad. You know, there are ALL kinds of religions in this country, that's what makes America what it is.

With that..everyone have a nice day.

TTFN,
maria

You are right about the PC BS! :confused3 I'm not one to be worried about that stuff and always say: Merry Christmas, Happy Easter, etc. If someone gets "offended" then it's their problem! :rolleyes1

HAPPY GOOD FRIDAY!

This is my last day off with the kids before going back to work on Monday. We have had a good week. I love Easter weekend and it is such a significant holiday. I only hope the schools get to a point where they don't want to recognize it so they can be politically correct. It seems a little strange because we are in the process of changing churches and we won't be at the church that has been the only church my kids ever knew before January. We like the new church and there are several families there that we know, so that makes it a whole lot easier.

I hope everyone has a wonderfully blessed EASTER weekend!

Pam

P.S. - there is still no word on that missing family, at least not in the morning paper and I haven't turned on the television yet this morning.

Oh, on the peeps issue, my daughter likes them refrigerated. Says they are better when they are cold.:flower:
