We all know that Jay definitely thought I was crazy.......until he met everyone. Now he thinks it's pretty cool! If I mention a cruise, he asks "Who's coming?"

The last 10 years of my career I spent alot of time in front of a 'puter. When I retired I rarely checked email. Now I am back in front of the 'puter' having FUN:banana:

Good morning everyone!

Does anyone else's husband think they're crazy for being on these boards soooo much? My husband laughs at me when he comes into the computer room and sees me on "the boards". He shakes his head and tells me I'm addicted for sure. hahahaha Maybe I am..I don't mind. Just curious to see if anyone else is in the same boat as me. No pun intended. :rotfl2:

TTFN,
Maria

No, my husband doesn't think I am crazy for being on these boards, he is on them more often than I am. It only gets "dangerous" when we get close to the cruise and everyone is posting like mad. I usually catch up on the boards at lunch each day, but on the 10 day, the page count grew so rapidly that I had to read before work, at lunch, and sometimes before bed. Lisa almonst missed her bus one morning because I was reading the thread.
HOWEVER, having cruised a number of times including 2 previous Christmas Cruises - there was NO COMPARISON between the experiences. Having "met" so many friends before the cruise, it was like a family reunion without the issues of family. We went with my sister and her kids last summer for a weekend cruise and I "felt" like I was responsbile for their happiness / cruise experience. On the ten day, we had all the fun of seeing friends around the ship, at dinner, etc and none of the responsibility.
As Jim says "It was the cruise that keeps on giving." Many of our 10 day friends are going on this double scoop cruise, so along with our new "yet to be met" friends, it will be great. Also, Lisa made two very special friends that she continues to e-mail. It will be fun to see the change between 10 year old girls and 12 year old (almost teens).

I think a few of us Moms of young girls can give you a hint of the difference between 10 yr olds and 12 yr olds! Ask Vicki, LeiLani, Diana or me!! :earseek: The Scuba Family had early dinner, so they missed the "parade" of girls going back & forth to the ladies' room throughout the meal....... and make sure that they always have their room key. ;)

I'm another part of a DIS couple. Mark hasn't been posting as much lately (he's addicted to a new online game) but does read and will post more and more as the cruise gets closer.

I agree with Sharon - the 10 day was like family but without the family headaches. I loved traveling with friends and that's why I always tell everyone to find their cruise meets thread and post away!

And it won't be long before you reach that magical 10,000!!!!

I've only been on since November, and look how many I've got... but then again, I don't shut up. :teeth:

Well I have been here since early 2000.

2762 of my posts have been on the 12/18 thread

354 (now 355) on this thread

184 on the DVC Member Cruise thread (that group isn't quite as chatty).

I've met a lot of wonderful people on the DIS!

Monica, sounds like yours is ready to be indocrinated. Tell him it's time to pick out a DIS boards ID and then get his Borg plug ready...

:cool1: Cool, #407! Thanks, that made today easy...now only 406 days and tips/hints to go...

I've grounded dh from all fun electronics until he gets his grades up - he's right on the "bubble" of getting a B+ :rotfl2: Only a certain percentage of students can during each 6 "semester" can receive A's - He's normally the curve breaker...He has a six week break this summer then, I'll see if I can get him on to say "hi"

I can guarantee that I won't be able to get my DH to 'chime in' til after the Daytona 500 & Bike Week '06. .. THEN he'll start thinking about the cruise (and at that point, he'll desparately NEED ONE!!)- he thinks I'm crazy for thinking about it so far ahead.

I'm still not sure what that was all about! I doubt it was about going to the ladies' room, unless it was to check makeup. I think it was more about displaying the evening's outfits, checking out cute waiters at other stations, getting their pics made together, spotting boys out in the lobby area. There wasn't a lot of eating going on at dinner, though the boys all did their share.

This is the cruise I really wanted to go on!!!!!!!!!!! But I waited too late and just couldn't swing the price. :sad2: So I'm going on the regular Western in January 2006 instead. I REALLY wish I was going with you all ... but at least I don't have to wait quite as long :teeth:

Ahhhh - i remember a certain semi-formal night when I was in Shutters and a group of certain DIS girls went running through asking where the photographers were because they wanted to have their picture taken. It was right in the middle of second seating dinner and I was wondering why they weren't eating. :)

I bet if we asked the girls, they'd know the name of the ships' photographer!
It's lucky for them that they are all so photogenic........

I asked Alicia about that. She said there as a different photographer each time. I guess they went out to check out the guys then....... :earseek:
