The cookies you never gave me a chance to bake, you mean? Either you were cooking or we were running.

For those who don't personally know Mr. Scuba....the man does not know how to just chill and veg! It drives him crazy. I could see the panic on his face if I mentioned just hanging out!! :) ;)

Karen - I actually have to disagree with this just a bit. We got to see Jim relax and chill. When Mark and I went into the Rainforest after our couples massage Jim was in one of the tile loungers relaxing and reading a book. He was a real gentlemen and even moved to another one so Mark and i could sit side by side. Of course this was after he did his morning walk while all Mark and I did was roll out of bed and onto the massage table :)

Maybe he should install one of those tile loungers out by his pool and then he could chill at home!

I do agree with you there, Mary! I did see him chill in a heated tile lounger. Ok, so it IS possible!

Well, done deal. We cancelled our April/May cruise last night. It was 61 days out, and the NEW cancellation policy is 75 days out. Because we booked before 9/04, we were grandfathered into the 60 day cancellation policy and didn't lose any money. The CM told Mike it was good he called last night b/c if he had waited until today he would have lost the deposit. Mike's eyes are just too touch and go and we don't want to be out in the middle of the ocean and him have a problem. At least until this is stabilized. Insurance wasn't an option b/c this would have fallen under "pre-existing condition."

I haven't broken it to the kids yet. :earseek:

:grouphug: Karen - just remember that everything happens for a reason. Think of how much fun you'll have on the Member Cruise with Mike all better by then!

I'm sure the kids will be disappointed but understand that Daddy's health is more important.

How's Grandma Lightbulb doing?

No other job can you have such a failure rate and not get fired!!!!

It's even chilly here this morning... 47 on my way into work.

Weathermen are wrong AGAIN! It's snowing again & really coming down. I'm sure nothing for you northerners but a LOT for us southerners. :)

Angie

Sounds like we aren't the only ones with unusual weather. Can't complain, though, looks like we are going to have our second straight day of sunshine! :sunny:

Now, Jim, you don't need to go and dredge up those old myths! Rubber bands, indeed.

Karen, sorry to hear about your cancelled cruise. How many do you still have planned? Just a little more waiting, that's all. And none of us were going to be there, right? Mike, hope you are doing better soon.

Our crisis of the week, besides the cat, DD has her first major dance comp this weekend. She has a solo, two trios, and a couple of group numbers. And a big fat ingrown toenail, she could barely walk yesterday.

I told ya....I'm coming back as a man, for sure, and a weatherman to boot!!! You never have to right and they're not going to fire you for that. "Oh well, the front moved off the coast and didn't drop as much snow as previously forecasted". :confused3 What a job. It's mine next time around.

We're OK up here in NY. I live right near West Point and we have about 8" of snow. Hardly the 10-18 they forecasted for. Good snowball snow, though. And, I have to go into work today unexpectly. I work at night and the daytime girl is out sick. How convenient!!! I really wanted to take the kids out sledding. Maybe tomorrow after school.

Hope everyone else is doing good. How often does it snow in Atlanta? I remember a couple of years ago it snowed, either in GA or somewhere near there and they didn't have any snow removal equipment. Everyone was freaking out.

Well kids, I gotta get my snow removal butt into gear and go and snowblow the driveway. I'm sooo excited. Chat with y'all later. Have a great day.

TTFN,
Maria :cheer2:

My first TOP and I didn't even realize it!!!!! How can you tell when the next post is going to be at the top? WWOOOOO HOOOOOO!!!!

TTFN,
Maria :cool1: :cheer2: :Pinkbounc  :goodvibes :rotfl:

Heaven help you, if you get between me and a lounge in the Rainforest Spa!!!! It really is a Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde transformation :teeth:[/QUOTE]

Jim would agree with that assessment of himself. Most of the time is "driven", but don't get between him and his lounging in the rain forest. There, he knows how to chill just fine. That's what he needs - a rain forest lounger in our bedroom - so he can just chill. :cool1:

Great Idea. I had not thought of that.

Honey, we have another project to do! :flower:

Sorry to hear, but understand. The kids will understand since you are probably going to WDW instead. Not a bad back up plan.

Maria,

We get a few inches of snow every couple of years. This year we had an ice storm come through but that hit us on a Sat. You're right about everyone freaking out! I remember when it snowed a few years ago & no one could get to work, schools were closed, etc. I made it to my office with no problems. Sometimes I don't know what the deal is. People around here can't seem to drive in rain either! And we gets lots of that!!!

Maria - there are 15 replies to a page. Sometimes someone will count and see that it is time for a top and grab it. That's when we call them a pirate: . We got very silly about it on the 10 day thread and it has spilled over here. But hey if you can't laugh then what good is life.

BTW - unexpected tops like yours are the best!

Which is what makes the 'edit' feature great... you can go back in and 'celebrate' your TOPpirate: on the same post, looking like you knew it all along (but we know better).

It's best to do it later (after you know you got it) than to "assume" and not get it...... :earseek:

been there, done that!!

:goodvibes Hope everyone up north is safe & staying warm!!! :goodvibes

We actually had a light dusting last night here in Atlanta metro area. (Any for you Amanda?) It's very light but it's actually the "real" stuff - soft & fluffy, not icey like it usually is. The weatherman was wrong again!

None here, but it sure was windy and cold today! BRRR :cold: I know it is nothing compared to what y'all are getting up north, but I have grown acclimated to the warm weather here and I am no longer used to this cold!

We ended up with about 10" up here. It's still snowing a little. Not sticking though.

Well, just ran in real quick....I gotta go now - Amazing Race 7 is going to start soon. Good night everyone.

Maria :cheer2:

:confused3 Wow... where is everyone tonight? Only 4 posts since I was last here... and that was about 8 hours ago... I thought that while I was out speaking to a Rotary Club (yawn) you guys would all be here blabbing away and having a grand old time... glad to see I didn't miss much, but c'mon guys... you're slippin!

Mary, Gma looks good. She's up and about. Scolded me for trying to do the dishes yesterday but relented today when I always seemed to beat her to it. :) She doesn't use the dishwasher and has a very small sink, so it's a non-stop job. Made a roast today (will turn the left overs into beef stroganoff tomorrow) and made a big ol' stock pot full of chicken noodle soup. Tomorrow I'll also throw beef stew in the crock pot so she has lots of soup and stew to freeze. She tires easily and complains of a metallic taste in her mouth, but we've looked up some things on the Cook'n CD I brought down and we're combating that with their various suggestions.

Diana, cruises still planned....well, we have the 4 day Member cruise in September and a 7 day in January of '06. Then the double scoop cruise. I told KT today. She has informed me that it's actually a crime to only cruise once a year (and a 4 day at that!) Alicia has an ingrown toenail.....that makes me start hearing Twilight Zone music in my head.....MATT may have an ingrown toenail!!! The Scubas had me look at his foot and it looks just like when Mike gets them. Hmmmm.....

Mr. Scuba, SIR, Right now it's up in the air what we'll do in place of the cruise. We've already got airline tickets so we really can't SHORTEN our time in FL. Maybe a couple days at Vero. A day at Sea World. A day in Daytona Beach ;) We'll find SOMETHING fun to do. :)

Well, it's after 9:00 and things are going to get ugly! ;) ;) btw, Jim, any word on Mike's mom? (Mike of Mike and Joan, not Mike "cupcake.")

Oh....this is funny. Last night I called Mike on the cell phone. Told him to call back on the land line. I answered it "hi cupcake." Well after everyone talked to him and we hung up, the phone rang again. We figured Mike had forgotten something so his mom answered the phone "Hi, Cupcake!!!" It was a friend of theirs! Talk about laughing at that one!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
