My ever-so-blonde (but cute) daughter forgot her room key. She was afraid to wake us up, because it was so late (swears she tried to ring the doorbell, but we didn't hear it) so Gregg and Matt were gentlemen and slept out in the hall with her. And I do mean that sincerely, they were very nice. Even IF none of them thought to call us on the phone that was right above their heads in the hall!!
And, yes, someone came along during the night and took pity on them by giving them blankets and pillows. But we didn't leave the bedding in the hallway for the stewards to have to pick up!
I thought is funny, since all they had to to was get another key from the front desk. :earseek: Our "blonde" lost hers once too!

guess it was more fun the way they did it though........

OK, this is not fair! I've spent the last 30 minutes looking at about four different webcam shots of the Magic going through the locks!! Awesome!!

Thanks Mary for posting the link!!

Mary,

Now we know ... you didn't feel under the weather. You just wanted to stay home & watch the Magic go through the canal. ;) I'm just kidding. Hope you feel better.

Great pic that you posted. I saw it enter the lock but then it was time for me to leave work & pick up DDs from day care.

Got hit by a stomach bug that ended up hitting Mark as well - he came home around noon. I slept most of the morning but was feeling better as the day went on. It was fun to see the Magic go through the canal and it did help me feel better! :)

I love the two ladies on the deck above Mickey wearing the golden Mickey ears, too. I do love Disney, but I'm not sure I'd go there.

Kevin and I are doing Tap Jam shifts tonight. Tap Jam is an annual show at the University, this is the first time Alicia has been in it. I had to get her there for rehearsal at 3 pm, take the girls to eat, and watch the show starting at 6 pm. Kevin arrived for the second show, he's going to make sure the girls get safely to their cars (the ones that drive), and take some home. My shift was longer, but his is later. What a Dad, heh?

We did the Panama Canal on a ferry as an excursion from our cruise in Dec. '03. We only went through Milaflores, and it was quite cool. But it was hot weather, even in December. I bet it was scorching today! But really, the way to see it is from your own balcony on the Magic. So jealous.

Good morning Cruisers!
We sail in 53 weeks!

Or to put that in two smaller numbers. We sail in 1 year and 1 week! Yeah!!!!!!!

I'm going to miss our big one year celebration next weekend since we're going out of town for the weekend. So, I'll celebrate today (and probably again on Fri. afternoon). YEAH!!! :cool1: :sunny: ::MickeyMo  :cheer2:

Hope everyone has a great Sat. & Sun.

Morning all!

It was fun seeing the pictures of the Magic as it traveled through the locks. I couldn't get it to load on my computer :badpc: So, I really appreciated your pictures, Mary and all of those on the "live" thread. The camera operator deserves Mickey ears for his fantastic closeups.

We did a partial transit cruise on RC which left out of Galveston - We traveled through the Gatun locks and then did a train excursion along the canal to Panama City. We stopped at the MilaFlores lock watching a few ships go through.

Today is hectic - 2 volleyball games, a dance recital and then a retirement party tonight...

Have a great day!!!

53 weeks :bounce:

Well, our last weekend in town for a couple of weeks. Getting things sorted out, charging batteries, packing dive gear (after it dries out) and clothes too

We will take the laptop and check in every so often. We gotta keep in touch for the DIS meet!!

Good Morning!!

I noticed how those gals' golden Mickey ears caught the sun, too! Funny.

Off and running today. Jared has a game, then a pizza party....and I'll spend what's left of the afternoon as Tour Guide. Mom & Dad arrived safely....

Diana & Kevin....stay safe....stay in touch! See you (sort of) soon!
Mary....hope you & Mark are feeling better this morning!! :flower3:

Watching the ship go through the canal, I couldn't help but think how incredibly cool that big 'ol balcony we had at Christmas would have been.........we may just have had to break DCL's rule about the number of people out there afterall!!

Has anyone seen VerandahMan's link in his signature? They have a whole 'store' to choose from for their cruise in August '06.
http://www.cafepress.com/castaways2006
I was totally hooked on the PC web shots and mini-videos that were posted. I'm trying to talk DH into getting a second mortgage so we can be on the return trip in August :confused3 .

Sandi

sandi,

That website for the T-shirts is great!!

Mary can we do that? I wonder how much it costs, etc.? Maybe I'll PM the Verandah Man and pick his brain a little.

TTFN,
Maria

I don't see why we couldn't. Drop Andy a note and ask him about quality etc. I had suggested that site to the people doing our shirts for the Member Cruise but they already had a source.

The downside is that the logo is only on the front and our names wouldn't be embroidered on. Not a deal breaker in my book.

So what does everyone think? Should we go this route?

Maria if you find out from Andy what they need we can work on the logo. I think it was Karen (kiki) who said she could have someone do it nicer than my rough try.

What kind of items would you like to see offered? For me I'd like to see the variety of t-shirts, golf shirt, infant shirt, and tote bag. What about everyone else?

BTW - if you want to see what Andy's group is doing here is the link http://www.cafepress.com/castaways2006

Sorry - my first statement above is wrong. You can have placement on the back if we wanted to . So what does everyone think?

The t-shirts from Cafe Press are the same quality t-shirts as Hanes. The only problem I can see, is that A. The ladies' tops run really small and B. Anyone in the world can order one. There is no way to "lock" people out.
Just something to think about.

Stacey - sending you an e-mail (not related to cafe press).

I saw that moocow checked in from the repo cruise on the live thread! I cant believe she didnt pop in over here and say hey ! Ladypoo when you go on the AUG repo cruise you'd better stop in here and say hello or else!! LOL THose that are going tot WDW next weekend I sent a PM with my cell number because I really want to get together....dont feel like you have to "hang" with me, but I just would love to meet people face to face that I have been talking to for 8 months now! Gosh, it does not seem like that long ago....those of you who are sad because you did not get my cell numberin a PM.......well gee now I am just gonna have to PM everyone my cell number! lOL
Sandy did you get my PM about Columbus?

From what I've been reading it has been very hard to get computer time. I would think most people when they get on are checking in with family and friends and then going to the Live thread.

I liked the idea, but the more I think about it, it really does not matter how much stuff we can order. I just want a shirt with the logo. I also think it is really cool to have our names on it because that is what we know each other by. On 10 day, the names really made a difference.
