Yes, I've read through that thread and even have it bookmarked. I just thought maybe some of my soon-to-be fellow cruisers had an opinion on FW. Not that anyone on the OTHER thread would be biased about FW

.
Well, I am new to this thread and to cruising but an old timer at WDW FW.....We first camped in 1977 (or earlier?). It was my first campiong experience and I love it --- and have back-packed, hiked and camped all over the US because of such a great time (but nothing is like Disney).
What type of camping will you be doing? They have one loop that they still reserve for tents and very small campers - the only way to go - think cruise - the opposite. The facilities are top notch and clean. I find there are way to many of the large RVs (sorry folks) but it is now a way of life. But then I do not travel with DDs and DSs and might change my mind quickly if I did.
There is a lot to do - nightly campfires, nightly movies, renting boats, canoes, you can rent bikes or you can bring your own. There is a buffet - sing-along and Mickey's Back Yard BBQ. But check out the Hoop - De - Doo - it may be the longest running show at the world....ok what else - I could go on forever. Folk are friendly - checkout the regulars - like campground hosts they have mailboxes etc.
It is a hoot to be at FW during Halloween with the decorations and also at Christmas times....bring lights, tinsel - Santa.....
One of the best is that you can take the boats to the Kingdom - Wilderness Lodge and to the Contemprary. We take long walks to WL - of course we got lost and were pulled over by the D water cops, what a scream. We had guests and they never stop telling that story.
There is also a carriage ride - which can be very romatic with a glass of teh bubbly. Our rider took off through the group campground where the little kids were - they adored the horse...but I promised I would never tell on him...Hope this does not count....
OK signing off before I write a book......
