You would sure save a lot of money if you just gave him an O2 bottle and a reg.

Spoken like a dedicated diver. Pam - prayers and pixie dust heading out to your Dad. Kevin - prayers and pixie dust heading out to your brother.

Thanks again everybody. Kevin -- that is terrible about your brother. Hope he recovers soon. Is he there in ABQ with you.

Thanks, yes he is. That in itself makes it a lot easier. Can't imagine what you guys are going through. All of that and not being in his home.

Hi All,

Did anybody miss me? Well, I was in the sunshine state but I don't have good news. My dad past away on Thursday, 5/05/05 at 5:05pm. Yeah, I have a new number now....05. Anyway, it all happened sooo fast. I have two brothers that lived with him, my two other brothers in NY left Wednesday PM and I had a Thursday AM flight(that makes 5 in case you were having trouble). I was at my father's house 45 minutes before he past. I truly believe that he was waiting for me. My whole family was there. That's what he wanted. I don't think it really hit me yet. My mom past away, it'll be 6 years in August. THAT hit me hard. I'm now an orphan.

What did I miss here? Too many pages to go back and read. Anybody request anymore shirts? It's getting closer and closer. I did go on a cruise while in Florida...the gambling cruise, not once but twice while I was there. You have to understand, my father loved going on that cruise so we thought it would be fitting to go one more time for him. The water was supposed to be 2-4 foot swells...try more like 6-8 foot swells. Now this boat looks like it was put together with chewing gum mind you. I had to hold onto the roulette table at one time. So, I figure if I could handle that rocking on a little boat, the Magic should be no problem. I didn't get sea sick. YYAAAAHHOOOO!!

Well, the sandman is calling me and I want to get into beddy bye now. Chow for now..

TTFN,
Maria

Maria - to you on the loss of your dad. I'm so glad you got to be there at the end with him. I totally understand the feeling of being an orphan as an adult. I never knew my Dad, but when I found out that he had died before my Mom it really hit me that I would never know him.

You and your Dad will be in my prayers tonight. Lots of praying on the thread today, but that's part of getting to know everyone and support them.

Maria, I'm so sorry. Lots of hugs and Pixie Dust coming your way!
You're not an orphan...and neither are you, Mary.......you guys have US! :grouphug: :grouphug: :flower3: :flower3:

Kevin.....sending prayers and good wishes for your brother.

Pam....you too.....:wizard:

:flower1:Good morning cruisers!:flower1:

Happy Tuesday!

Another day off work for me! Hope everyone has a great day!

Kevin:hug: , Pam:hug: , Maria  - prayers and peaceful wishes go out to all of you... life isn't always easy, but if it were, it would be boring.

Maria - I'm glad you and your family chose to 'celebrate' your Dad's life- you aren't an 'orphan'... he's just left you in OUR care!!! :smooth: (Uh-oh... better watch out!!!)

Sharon- it was great to finally meet you last night!! So what did Lisa say about the dance class? Elizabeth can't wait for me to call and get her schedule changed.

I am really stressing over my dentist appointment this afternoon... part two of last week's killer session... but this will be the LAST ONE!!!! I'm not sure what's worse... 14 shots of novacaine in the roof of my mouth, or the $4500 bill that results... at least it will all be over!!

Hope everyone has a great day!:sunny:

Having all 4 front top teeth crowned... I broke them when I was 7, and they have been repaired one too many times... my dentist has finally resorted to crowning all 4 of them- had to do them all at once, or the color wouldn't match up properly. This appointment is just to remove the temporaries and put the permanent ones on- so it should be quick... the last appointment was 3 hours!!

A TOP - shared with Angie & my dentist! (its bad enough I have already funded his kids' college education!!)

Woo boy, you are RIGHT about that!!

Maria, sorry to hear about your Dad. It's great that you were able to get there to say goodbye. Love the honorary cruise story, yes, you're ready to rock!

Kevin's brother seemed a little better yesterday. It's been tough for Kevin lately, both parents are having problems as well. His sister works for the remodeling company too (family owned), and is able to do a lot during working hours, but they still need care on weekends. There are two other brothers in town.

Karen, I'm sorry about the dental work. Amazing how much a crown costs these days. My Dad's SO takes her daughter to Mexico for dental work, I may need to resort to that eventually. I'm sure the money isn't as bad as the multitude of shots though!

So Ebay was down last night. I had two auction ending, one had bids. It's been a long time since it crashed that hard, but they're not admitting to the full time it was down. Typical.

Karen - It was nice to meet you as well. (A Pre-Cruise Meet at the Middle School). Lisa has decided against the Dance Class. But, now I am looking into the Music Class. After the Dance Teachers' explanation versus what I had been told previously, I spoke to Lisa's Music Teacher this morning. She told me to e-mail the Middle School Music Teacher with Lisa's situation and my concerns to see if there were any options for a student who could not attend after school practices or evening performances. He e-mailed me back and said that he was sure we could work something out. That his intermediate band members (where Lisa would fall) hadn't meet after school at all this year. I am going to be speaking to Lisa tonight to see if she wants me to change her schedule or not. It's too bad that didn't have this meeting at the Middle School prior to having the kids select classes.

Well, Matt is with you today. He will be at the Dentist this afternoon to get his "Maryland"(SP??) Bridge for two teeth replaced. After spending $$$$ with the local orthodontist, we were told Matt's teeth had not moved as much as he had hoped and unless we spent more $$$$ for this bridge, the teeth would move back, so . . . . .

Just got back... I told the dentist to numb me up as much as he could without resorting to the last 6 shots in the roof of my mouth... it worked great- though now that its starting to wear off, I'm starting to wonder. Lots of Aleve to the rescue!!!

Sharon- you'll have to let me know who Matt's orthodontist is... Elizabeth will be going in the next 2 months to get started... I need to know who NOT to go to!!!

Thanks everyone for your condolenses(?). It's kinda hard and every once in a while it just catches you off guard. Have to keep on truckin'.

CONSTRUCTION UPDATE: The floor joists are going in as I write. I'm too excited and it's great cause it's taking my mind off everything else. The sound of air guns is everywhere. Started to pack china and stemware today. The kitchen is next. That's going to be crazy. Throwing out a lot of old cups and stuff. I could probably have another tag sale if I really wanted to. Wish me luck. So many things to do, so, if you don't hear from me you'll know where I am. I have a lot of ordering and packing to do, but I will try to stay current on the boards.

Thanks again everyone for your kind words and prayers.

TTFN,
Maria

How exciting!! :Pinkbounc
So what kind of music do they listen to? I have to remind our guys that they can't turn the radio up load enough to hear over the compressors, saws and nail guns. (back ground music, please!!)

Maria,

I am so sorry to hear about your dad. I am so glad you got to be there with him before he passed. That happened to us last summer with my grandmother. She waited until me and my kids got there and then she let go. It was so much better for her, because she was in so much pain.

BTW, we will need 4 shirts (1XXL, 1XL, 1M, 1Child Large) at least I think those would be our sizes. Let me know closer if we are doing polos or t's.

Pam

Oh Wow, I just realized we will be in WDW in less than 4 weeks. Our kids still don't know and I am starting to get excited.
