And I'm leaving for WDW tomorrow! Yay! Trying to get packed, I do my best work last minute. If anyone will be around Epcot this next week, would love to see you. PM for my cel phone number, OK?

Have a great trip....Hope to see ya on Sunday......

We have charted a private sail boat for our Thanksgiving cruise in St. Thomas. This is a open bar (dangerous with our neighbor Mike on it), lunch, and snorkle all day trip.

"Everything" is provided. From you experience, since you have charted these before, is there anything special we should bring, ask for, expect, etc.

ME!!!!!!!

Happy 5th Birthday, Ashley!!

I'm sorry this is late....

Have a great, and safe, trip, Diana!!

Off to therapy....back later.

My baby boy (all 5'7" of him) turns 13 today. Traditionally, I wouldn't let him count it until 12:06pm... ;)

With tech/dress rehearsals for our theatre group all this week, he gets a spread-out birthday. Family cake and present yesterday. Today, I'm picking up two of his friends for supper at a local pizza and games place.

He's a bit bummed, he has 9 week exams to write and study for on his birthday.

Good news from the regional band auditions, he made the 3rd regional band, which is an honorable mention band. :cheer2:

Obviously, if anyone is allergic to anything, you need to contact them ahead of time...and you can also let them know what your drink preferences are, and most will try their best to have that available. Like my Pepsi for example. But most of the time, they will have a local "soda" in the cooler, because it's less expensive.
All you'll need is your snorkel gear, if you plan to snorkel, and towels. Be prepared to remove your shoes before you board....most are picky about that.
And the WILL stand and wait for a tip when you return.
We've chartered privately in St Thomas, twice. What company did you use? Usually, the food is really fantastic. The best was with the sailboat we chartered while we were on the Princess cruise.

We are sailing with Captain Max(ine) on the Lou. We don't need to bring snorkel gear as her husband owns a scuba shop and provides all the gear.

I've learned about the tip thing since all the dive boats have the same issue. My rule is to never tip the captain. I did that when chartering the boat for the day. I tip the crew and only if they do a good job. On some dive boats they do nothing for us so they don't get a tip.

She has arranged for a van to pick us up so if everything goes as planned we should be okay. The big issue with Joan was the bathroom. Since the boat is a 46 ft she feels much better.

The one thing I did warn the captain about is Matt. She needs to double up on the food!

ME!!!!!!!

I ran by your house last Friday morning and thought about stopping in for a cup of coffee. But since it was 4:30 am I thought you might not be happy about that.

Actually, I'm more afraid of Ray!

How is football season going?

How is football season going?

4:30... yeah, a little early. But Ray IS the early one in the house. Afraid of him... hah! He's not like JP ya know!!! (Not ALL coaches are like that!!)

Football season is going well. Ray is coaching Christopher's team this year (first time they've 'played' together)... they have one week left, and are 7-1... they have clinched a tie for a playoff berth, which will be decided by a "KC tie-breaker" next Monday night deciding who plays in the first round of the playoffs on Tuesday night (in Claremont...gotta love a road trip on a school night). I won't speculate beyond that, as I don't want to count my chickens.

Its been a good season so far!

I HOPE TO SEE SOME OF MY CRUISE FRIENDS THIS WEEKEND.

GARRY - I WANTED TO COME UP TO SEE YOU BUT NOOOOO - THEY WOULDN'T TAKE ME.....THEY SAID THEY HAD TO JUMP OFF A PERFECTLY GOOD BOAT....AND LEAVE HEDGIE AN ORPHAN.

HERE ARE MY RECOMMENDATIONS FROM FOOD AND WINE....

I WOULD POST A PICTURE BUT THEY HAVEN'T DOWNLOADED IT YET.

#1 - CHAMPAGNE = WHITE STAR (DRY) & NECTOR IMPERIAL (SWEET).

#14 HOPS AND BARLEY MARKET = 12TH ANNIVERSARY FESTIVAL BEER.

#18 - MOROCCO = TUSKER BEER.

#22 - ICED TEAFUSION = GREEN TEAN & MINT (what can I say, it was HOT).

Saw the surgeon for follow up today and he tried to kill me. It was early, so I hadn't eaten and therefore hadn't taken a pain pill. He decided that he needed to remove all the dead skin and the scabs on my wound, god only knows why, because after he did, I don't remember a thing he said. He used tweezers and small sharp scissors and I was about to pass out. I swear, I don't think anything has ever hurt as much as that did.
But he seemed pleased with himself, and I think he said something about "now the scar will be nicer" or some damn thing. Did I CARE if it was nice???????
Other than that, I have no recollection of any of our conversation. I think he told me I could do anything I could "tolerate" as far as walking and all.......Megan was with me, and she said she was too "horrified" watching him to remember anything either.
I have an appt to see him again after I get back from Mom and Dad's.

THEN.....I had an emergency appt with our eye doc. I guess my foot wasn't enough, I had to go and get an infection in my right eye. Not pink eye...some other kind of infection. Lucky me. The eye is swollen shut, and I have to do drops and ointment for ten days. He said to "keep an eye on it" (no pun intended) because this kind of infection can easily go to the sinuses, and to see a doc in Omaha if I think that's happening.
I told Jay I think there should be a law that one person can only have one thing wrong at a time. No fair!!
So I feel really, really crappy. But...this too, shall pass I guess.

Sorry about the whining.......I'm just sick of all of it.

I have a feeling that by the time we get on the NCL cruise in December, the crew and anyone around will think I'm a loon. I'll be so excited, I'll be doing a dance!!
:cool1:

Stacey,

Hope you're feeling better today! Yesterday sounds painful! :grouphug:

Thanks to everyone for the b-day wishes for Ashley.

gaRRy

That would be great!!! Let us know!

WELL I post and everyone cruises AWAY ???????????????????????????

hoping to hear something very soon on the retirement BUT nothing is for sure

labs place me at the same spot on the list

I'm NOT MOVING UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MELD SCORE of 13 S T I L L !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

gaRRy

gaRry....don't the results of the lab scores also mean that you're staying stable, though? If so, that's a good thing. Trying to look at the bright side, and trying to keep my share of my liver too. :rotfl:

Not much going on around here. No therapy today, just an annual appointment for Ash at the vet this afternoon. Tossed in some of my own laundry so that I can pack to go to Mom and Dad's on Sunday. Sick of sitting around waiting for someone to help me. That's a good sign....some of the "feisty" is coming back!
I have to say that I am really, really looking forward to going to Omaha. Colder, I know....but quieter. The addition of Jordan's big dog Bo is driving me nuts. We might have to seriously think of finding him a home where someone is willing to go out and really run with him....or a huge yard to run in. He's just got too much energy for us. And most of the time, Jordan isn't willing to give him the attention he deserves. My own fault, I should have put my foot down (the good one??) and said "NO" in no uncertain terms. It's just that they're so cute when they're little.....kids and dogs!! ;)

Hey gaRry...would early retirement include full benefits still??
If so, then I'd say "Go for it!".

And yes, YOUR babies WERE giving your wife a hard time. Especially the "old man".

Hi folks....back in town...at least for the moment.

Stacey - oouch - that does not sound like good news...so please hurry and get better....Christmas is coming.

GaRRy, not sure about your news....Is it good, ie your labs are still coming back good....or bad, ie you are not moved up on this list? I'm with Stacey, it means I get to keep my liver a wee bit longer.

On the F&W - Disney is really serious about ingedients now adays. I had questions on a dish and the cashier had me speak with the chef who was at the small food booth...He knew exactly what was in the dish.

At Party for the Senses I requested a dish without the meat. It looked nice until the visiting chef took it away. "You can't have that" snatch....apparently the veggies were cooked with the pork products. And I had indicated that I did not eat pork...and guess what, I didn't get to.

At the resturants I made the "mistake" of asking about the chowder and if it had oysters (I am allergic - pity). Apparently, now when a guest says allergy that requires a trip from the chef. I was "disallowed" several dishes, not just the choweder.....the squid was fried in the same fyer as oysters so I could not have them either....now, that I never would have thought of.

Hum, hungry now.....is it time to hit the Food and Wine booths again? Gosh was this 2 years ago already?
