Maybe I should send you one of these? I've got one sitting right here on the floor in my office... you could keep your Diet Pepsi in it, too!

AWESOME!! I could sit, scoot, and drink Pepsi.....what more could a person ask for!! Not to mention handling those pesky hot flashes!

And...what will they think of next???

Stacey, I like your new "do." The question is...do you have to "do" anything with it to get it to look like that? My hairdresser keeps letting my hair grow out...
and it looks like &@^#)$. I complain about it and she says, "well, you have to DO something with it every day. 10 minutes with a blowdryer and a curling iron....."

But I don't WANT hair that needs a blowdryer and curling iron!! (sigh)

Well, my walker/scooter came today. It is the least comfortable thing I have ever tried to use. I'm so totally bummed right now. And to think, I thought it might be kind of fun. :sad2: How stupid could I have possibly been?
I'll never be able to get around on that thing. I guess I just won't get out of bed for 3 weeks.

Noooo, what a bummer! And the model looked so happy! Can you send the darn thing back, or maybe have Jay adapt it so it's more comfortable?

Took me a minute, but I located the new do pic. I need to go to your hairdresser, she makes everyone look younger.

Stacey, I love the new 'do! It looks good on you.

Sorry that the scooter will not work for you.

Sandi,

Congrats on the grandbaby. I wish both of your daughters the best. It's going to be a time of mixed feelings.

Thanks to all of the replies about dance. I found a place that has a combo ballet/jazz class for Emily's age group. The bad thing is that it is from 4:15-5:15. I talked to my manager and he is willing to let me take off at 3:30 once a week. I may just work from home on those days so I'll be closer to day care.

I haven't fixed it myself yet, so I don't know how much I'll have to do to it. One thing...my hair is very, very straight and baby fine. Thin as can be. At the very least, I will probably put some mousse or gel in it and finger dry it.
What I usually do is to use a blow dryer that is a round brush all in one...that cuts down the need for the blow dryer and the brush. I'm not coordinated enough to have to use two hands like that. The stylist did put maybe 3 curls with a curling iron in the top, and 3 in the back, and then just kind of ruffled it up.
All I had to do when I got up this morning was to ruffle it up again and it looked good. I would have had to re-do my whole head when it was longer. But I didn't wash it because I had another appointment this morning and I over slept. I'll let you know how hard it is to deal with tomorrow, after I have to wash it and dry it myself.

Yeah, that model looked happy because she didn't have to actually SCOOT on the thing!
We bought some heavy duty velcro and stuck a "squishy pillow" on top of their (hard as a rock) foam pads. Plus, Jay lowered the leg platform one more notch...I think that will help.

My stylist does a really fantastic job, when you let her finally do what she's been telling you do to for a long time! In other words, she put up with me "growing it out" for several years....I think she's thrilled to finally get to play with my hair.

Now let me see...................

What should I say???????????????????

I wonder what it should be?????????????????/

and so goes Post 6,000.

Irene, congrats! I have no idea how many I have, will have to look after I post this.

Kevin added the photo shoot with Alicia to his photo web page. The link is on his signature. There are some really glamorous shots of some girl I don't know, but a few of them look like my daughter. They had fun, anyway.

Angie, glad you found the right class! I do remember the working days, trying to get the kid to her activities was a challenge. It gets better when they start driving! Ha.

Congratulations on your 6000th post, Irene!

And thank you for your lovely, profound thoughts.......

Absolutely stunning pictures of Alicia!!

Also looked at a lot of the others. Are the two little girls the grandbabies?

Happy Friday everyone!!!

Great pictures of Alicia!

Those remind me of photos that a friend did of me and another girl friend quite a few years ago. He was in to photography and wanted to try studio portraits. We had a lot of fun taking pics in his garage ... not quite a studio, but still a lot of fun.

I hoping that me leaving early 1 day/week eases my manager in to the idea of me cutting back hours. Bruce and I have already discussed that I would try to cut back to 30-35/week once Ashley is in K and Emily in 3rd grade (next school year). I'm going to bring it up at my review in November. Everyone say a prayer for me that my company will allow it.

As for the dance class, Emily really enjoyed it. I think they had a bigger class yesterday because the kids from the Monday class got to make that class up. The teacher said that she loves this class because the girls are very focused and not easily distracted.

At the end of the class the instructor handed out flyers for auditions for The Nutcracker. I would love for Emily to do it but then when I added up all of the costs, there is no way! It's a $15 audition fee, $15 costume rental fee .. not bad so far ... but then, parents are required to purchase 5 tickets at $15 each, then there is another fee of $175 for the practices. No thanks ... at least not this year. I guess if she continues with the dance as the years go on, then we'll just have to suck it up and hand over the $.

Question for all of you in photography ... or anyone else that wants to pipe in ... what do we wear for family portraits this year? The photographer has a white background. Two years ago we all wore white shirts with blue jeans. Last year we wore blue shirts with khakis. Any suggestions for this year? I've got 1 week to pull something together.
