I was very productive this morning while the DIS was down... No distractions, I had to work...

John has been resisting redoing the 1/2 bath walls and the kitchen walls during this remodel. Working in the bathroom, he just tore into the wallpaper hmm, wonder if the kitchen wallpaper can suffer the same fate? But, guess who gets to strip wallpaper this afternoon...

I'm resisting re-hanging wallpaper - my excuse, I can't visualize what kind of paper I might want, therefore paint, until I make up my mind...That's my story, I'm sticking to it...

No, the DIS has been down. Mary emailed me and asked me to call Pete and see what was up. I called him and he fixed it for me.

Yes, I'm kidding! Mary DID email me and ask me to call Pete. And just after that the boards came back up so I told her I called and it's fixed. But it really was just all a big coincidence. Don't want you thinking I have ANY sort of relationship with a man who doesn't appreciate my husband!

Well, my walker/scooter came today. It is the least comfortable thing I have ever tried to use. I'm so totally bummed right now. And to think, I thought it might be kind of fun. How stupid could I have possibly been?
I'll never be able to get around on that thing. I guess I just won't get out of bed for 3 weeks.

Megan's going to go drag out Jay's Dad's wheelchair from the garage and clean it up. At least we have tile floors so hopefully if nothing else, I can wheel myself into the living room.

I have a baseball stats question, if anyone can help me. I'm tracking tonight's Cubs game on mlb.com by watching the text of the play by plays. There are three columns for each pitch...Speed, Breaking Ball, and pFX. Speed: No problem; Breaking Ball, Rise or fall over the plate, correct? It's listed in both inches and degrees But, what is pFX? That is also listed in inches.

Q: What is the PFX value?
A: The "Pitch-f/x" value is currently defined as the measurement of the distance between the location of the actual pitch thrown over the plate, and the calculated location of a ball thrown by the pitcher in the same way, with no spin; this is the value we provided in Enhanced Gameday last season as "Break". The new Break value, which we feel is more appropriate for the common understanding of the term, is defined as the measurement of the greatest distance between the trajectory of the pitch at any point between the release point and the front of home plate, and the straight line path from the release point and the front of home plate. By this definition, a Barry Zito curveball will have a much greater Break value than a Brad Penny fastball.

(By the way, the "camera control" in the 3D batter area allows you to view each pitch from any of six different viewpoints, so you can see the trajectory and location of each pitch from multiple angles.)
