gaRRy

So can you get by with half a new liver? Or maybe we can come up with two half-livers between all of us to make you a whole one? I'd better cut down on those margaritas if you're gonna make me cough up half my liver.

Hey gaRRy,

Took it this morning at our bagle/coffee date.

That's an awesome picture, Kevin!

Makes me want to live in Cave Creek.....

Coyotes Stalk Grocery Shoppers

Virgil
pirate:

Well, if they'd stop building crap in the coyote's backyards, that wouldn't happen.

It kills me that people move out here and are so surprised to see "eek....wild animals!".....go back to Phoenix if you can't deal with it.

Can you tell that this is a touchy subject??

Most of us who've lived here for 20+ years are so used to the animals we don't give them a second thought. But you get the "city people" coming in who expect "city living" and then they start to kill these animals who are in their own habitat......

The other night, someone had hit and wounded a bobcat on Cave Creek Road. Two cars had stopped and gotten out of their cars to divert traffic while the injured cat made it's way across the road. A woman was standing over the bobcat saying "Ohhh...poor baby. It's okay, baby..."
What's wrong with this picture?
1) The bobcat (poor baby) could turn on this woman and tear her to shreds
2) Watching it crawl across the road is CRUEL.
3) Untrained people stopping traffic on an unlit street at night is just plain stupid. Humans could get hit and killed.

Solution? Call Animal Control to remove the cat and/or put it out of its misery. Or....shoot it yourself. Or....run over it again.

I'm not a fan of bobcats or coyotes as they have been known to eat small dogs like they did our neighbors.......but I wouldn't just let one suffer, and I wouldn't complain about one in the grocery store parking lot. They were here first.
And if you wave your arms ...even at a group of 3 of them....they WILL run off.

Oops....who put that soapbox under my feet??? Sorry. I know you were just pointing out an interesting article, Virgil.
And....the first male reporter at the top of that site...the guy with the dark hair....he lives up here.

Actually, it's a much more complicated proceedure than that. They need to make an incision in your abdomen, up near your ribs. Then they retract your skin.....

Oh, you weren't SERIOUS about the coughing thing, were you? :lmao:

Ok, my kids won't even go near a DOG they don't know. Even if it's ON a leash and someone is holding the leash. They KNOW better than to get that close to strange animals. (sigh) That woman was a moron!

There was one woman who lived out this way that fed the coyotes.
She felt sorry for them because they looked so "scraggly" in the summer.

If she'd bothered to pick up a book or go online, she'd have found out that coyotes shed their fur in the heat and they DO look scraggly. It doesn't mean that they can't find enough to eat.

But the trouble with her feeding them on her patio is that then they'll come on to everyone's patio, expecting food.

Another moron. Thank heavens, she moved. Probably had to move because the coyotes wouldn't leave her alone.....:rotfl:

Well, shucks....I was just getting ready to cough one up for him.....:lmao: :lmao:
Sorry, gaRry....guess you're SOL.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Thanks for the laugh... its been a HORRIBLE week, and I REALLY needed it right now!!

We had lots of coyotes when we lived in NH... we lived in the woods, and they were there first... we used to love to listen to them at night!

And to quote the article...

"In the Biltmore area a few years ago, a woman was buying rotisserie chickens from the store and leaving them out for the coyotes."

Well, DUH! If I were a coyote and found someone who was willing to give me rotisserie chicken instead of lukewarm squirrel filet, OF COURSE I'd keep coming back!!!!!! Hmm... wonder if there are any out there now, I don't know what I'm making for dinner...

The surgery is set. Sept 10th at noon. And it will be outpatient. :scared1: I hope they send me home with some mighty good drugs.

We just disagree about which kids have on the "dirty"shirts.

Actually, a nice Muddy Buddy picture would also be appropriate.

See, now you should get your own blog and play along! When I was looking for "dirty" pictures, I thought of this one of you and Lisa. It'd have been perfect!

So, when Matt and Dale get their senior pictures, please post them here. And any other seniors I may have forgotten. The ones that are graduating high school, that is.

If anyone on this thread got an email from me to join Quechup (social networking site) DELETE IT IMMEDIATELY.
It's a scam and I fell for it. (sigh) I'm smarter than this. I should have known better.
Sorry.

Yes, Diana, we will post pictures. dale hates having pictures done, so that will be interesting. We have to wait until we get the info from the school, so who knows when that will be. All I know is that it is this fall sometime.
