Tap is her favorite and she is determined to work hard to earn her spot in intermediate, even if they are able to open a class for her level and age...

Tap was ALWAYS my favorite!!!! I'd love to be able to do it now!

to paraphrase some of John's logic he used while justifying his new camera: You need a better camera which has a better response time to capture the kids in their action sports - low level lighting ect... ;)

I'm sure John or Kevin could help you with the excuses er, justifications...:rotfl2:

Exactly, better low light/high ISO shots!! Like John's second shot!! :rotfl2:

The manufactures are always coming out with better quality products (we can only hope) that will make our job/life better and easier! But, it still comes down to the person behind the camera and the eye attached! It is still a tool that we use.

We just like nice tools!!! :rotfl2:

We have a couple of Jay's Dad's old cameras and I dug them out this morning. They're both 35mm and OLD. The Minolta XG9 still had film in it...we're going to take it to be developed, might be interesting to see what his last photos were of.
The other is a Kodak and it's REALLY old...all it says on it is Kodak35...but it has some pretty fancy stuff on the lens.

We just like nice tools!!! :rotfl2:

But you should not play with them in public.

Good Morning All!!!

:cool1: :cheer2: :cool1: :cheer2:

Today's the first day of school!!!

No celebrating for me - I'm working to clean tile and sawdust from the kitchen. John finished removing all the tile yesterday - that dust gets everywhere! Good excuse to eat out all weekend..;)

Morning All -- had a wonderful weekend at Amelia Island Plantation attending a conference....still had time for kayaking - visiting historical state parks, receptions, walks on the beach, sailing and meeting up with the Scubas on the way home.

Sorry that there was no Distime, but 'puter was not hooked up.

Hope all are well, especially if any of you are affected by the terrible floods.....

Kevin -- ~24 work hours over 3 days with a chipping gun to remove all the tile and thin-set!

Newest picture of Bo, the "puppy" at 4 months....much bigger than Ash now!

Kiki -- great pictures of the Kids, Today was our first day and we didn't have time for a picture. Ashley is still in uniforms and she hates it (of course she won't wear the actual uniform clothes, we have to go all over town to find something that is semi cool looking). She can't wait till next year when she will be in high school and she can wear what she wants. She can't wait to go to the mall next weekend. She got gift cards to American Eagle, Hollister, Aeropostale, Ltd. 2 and lots of cash for her birthday. In addition to the Small COach purse I bought her (1/2 off) and the Dooney purse my mom got her (also 1/2 off), I think she made out from her party.

Stacey -- that is the most adorable photo of Jordan I have seen. She does look younger. I wish my haircuts would do that for me (hahahaha):rotfl2:

I know a certain (boy) someone who certainly noticed HER. :rolleyes1

How funny, because after we had lunch that day at the burrito place, she commented that "Jared is pretty cute"

2 of her teachers saw her this morning when I took her in and they said they couldn't believe how much she had changed over the summer. Told me that Charley should wear his uniform all the time to keep the boys away. She got all embarassed, but I know she must have loved the attention.

Kiki -- Ashley is just like your daughter. If there is a camera in sight, she is posing.

Diana -- Keep us posted on how Alicia is doing with her toe. I know it must be killing her to not be able to dance.

Oh boy, today is the first day of swim practice and tomorrow is an early morning practice as well (yuck)

Well, that is a picture of Kevin that I haven't seen before. And I wonder why I can rarely take a picture of Alicia without mugging. She inherited it.

It seems that our daughter will be leaving us for Spring break this year, off to Europe. Her French teacher is sponsoring a tour to France and Italy, nine days. Very jealous but not sure I could keep up with the high schoolers.

So Kevin and I have an opportunity to go somewhere while she is gone to celebrate our 20th. Problem is, we can't decide where, and it must be fairly cheap. There are some cruises in the $2000 range, Celebrity Millenium and Holland America Westerdam out of Ft. Lauderdale. Haven't checked RCCL. Or maybe we'll go and tour DC. If we cruise, I will obviously be on my own for a few days. That's normal.

Any suggestions?

Virgil, did the girls have to wear skirts to the Vatican? These are things I suddenly need to know.

Here's a picture from this weekend. Not the best quality but it was the end of a wonderful day. We had a great weekend with them and wish you all could have joined us. As you can see Karen kept the spirit alive by wearing her blabbermouth t-shirt!

I am glad you guys had a great get together. Jim will get a chance to see Mark and Mary in Sept or Oct (I can't keep track of exactly what he is doing on each of his trips to Chicago other than RUN RUN RUN)

Did the Ohio Mouse family escape all the bad weather and flooding? The paper this morning specifically mentioned Ohio.

Pam, WOW! Beautiful picture of Ashley! We were just talking about you guys this weekend. Wishing we could cruise with you again. KT misses Ashley! And we miss you guys!

Stacey, Another WOW! Love the new look for Jordan! Wishing my hair looked that good. My hairdresser is trying to let it grow out. Unfortunately, my hair does not like that. It wings out all over the back and is too heavy and gets pulled flat on top. Sigh. Of course, she keeps telling me if I'd DO something like blow dry it or curl it, it would behave. Yeah, like I want to fuss with that!

KikiKaren--great first day of school shot of the kids. The modeling thing....yeah, don't want to see KT posing for shots! Not at this age! I'll join you in a drink if she starts doing that!

Diana--we did escape the flooding here in our part of Ohio. Most of it was north of us by about 100 miles or so. Whew. The worst thing we came home to was 2 dead mice on our back patio from the outdoor cat and a message from the neighbor watching the house to check out our shed and house to make sure everything was there. Seems there was a rash of break ins while we were gone (mostly sheds). Police said they left lots of "valuable" stuff and must have been looking for motorcycles or ATV's. We have neither. Apparently they didn't want our sleds or weedwacker or old bikes with flat tires. So I'm glad all we have is crap out there! :)

Had a GREAT GREAT time in Chicago. Decided I could never live there. Too big and too many people. With too many people comes too much traffic. Mark and Mary were absolute GEMS for dragging us around and showing us the sites. The zoo was fantastic. Loved the Field Museum--although way too big to get through in a day. And Mark went above and beyond the call of duty by parking illegally and staying in the car so Mary and I could do a little shopping on the Magnificent Mile! :) We were sad to say goodbye last night. We could have stayed several more days!!!

What a great picture of you guys! How much fun was THAT!! I'm of course, jealous.....

I was sort of hoping it was the Ohiomouse family that somehow ended up on the Indiana/Ohio border, purchasing winning lottery tickets! :confused3

Thanks for the reminder. I just PM Mark and Mary my trip details.

Honey, the Sept trip is a work trip, Monday - Wednesday.
