Trying to get a bunch of junk done before Jared and I head to Omaha. It always seems that odd things come up when I'm getting ready to go somewhere. Or maybe I'm just odd.

Looking forward to the trip...we're going to see a bunch of the new movies that I never get around to seeing here.

Good Morning All!

I'm off to teach an aquatic training for which I just received the course outline this morning (technically, midnight in my e-mail) to a bunch of 16 year olds who really would rather not be in the training. I was the mean safety auditor and removed a few of their guards from active duty on Tuesday because of poor performance. (and, to make matters worse, I had to deal with an irate helicopter parent who didn't understand why I removed her precious daughter from the stand, she wouldn't listen to the facility aquatic director... so I'm sure I will be received with a less than enthusiastic response.

oh yeah, did I mention it's raining - and we have to get in the pool....

Wednesday, I was also called the devil by another director - I'm not so sure he was kidding...

Cyber Happy hour at 5:00 when I'm finished - anyone care to join me????!!!!

Anybody interested in unpacking boxes? We're now in Wheeling - but it was a day from hel yesterday. The movers were supposed to arrive at 9am - they got here at 230pm due to their truck breaking down (no not from hauling my junk,....) We finished unloading at 1am. We now have boxes everywhere - so if anybody is bored - cmon down!!

I'm really glad one to the neighbors is "letting" me borrow their wireless net so that I can post a quick note and say hi....

Back to unboxing!!

Hi all!

I've been lurking. Seems like everyone has been busy. Same with us. We've been busy trying to update our house. "We" (Bruce) changed 4 light fixtures, we changed all of the drawer/cabinet pulls in our kitchen and he changed 9 door knobs. I'm trying to get rid of all of the polished gold in my house. I've got a long way to go. We will do more later when there is more $.

Stacey, have fun in Omaha.

Monica, from a parent that wants to make sure my kids are safe at the pool, thank you for doing your job! I'd rather not have any lifeguards on duty that are not doing theirs.

I'm not a HP reader but I guess most of you are looking forward to tonight.

My best friend is flying down tonight from Charlotte... I've got to pick her up in Orlando at 7:45, but I have a street festival event that I'm supposed to be at from 6-9... so I guess I'll make an appearance at 6, then 'disappear into the crowd'...

Elizabeth and Christopher are being baptised tomorrow at sunrise in the ocean... oh how I wish the sun would rise LATER!!!! It should be nice though... our church only does the sunrise/ocean baptism once a year, and tomorrow happens to be the day. Which means no late night for us tonight.

Sunday, we're heading up to Jacksonville to see Tim McGraw & Faith Hill... my best friend is a fanatic (read: has almost been arrested trying to get backstage, on the bus, etc... all while 6 months pregnant...), and Ray has 'connections' for Jax tix...

I am actually taking a vacation day Monday... (2nd one all year)... not sure what we're doing yet... they don't fly back out til 5:30, so we've got most of the day to find some kind of trouble to get in.

Virgil... good luck with the unpacking... its a crummy job, but you'll be so glad when its done!!!

Monica... don't lower your standards for slackers... their job is too important for that!!!! I ended up pulling my kids out of the Y summer program last year for similar reasons...

Tonight I have been scheduled to attend a HP Party for months...Angie, I am a fan....had to call best friend and cancel because I have to get up early so that I can DIVE and learn navigation, because no, we cannot let Sam do it!!

But, Kikikaren, as much as I too would like sunrise to be later, we will be up tomorrow morning so that we will be sharing the same ocean as Elizabeth and Christopher.....and will be thinking of them...

No luck with volunteers Virgil, I finally got the 2005 hurricane box unpacked, so I am not a really good one to ask..

Monica - do ya want to give me a refresher course in lifesaving????

Ang....just doing the drawer pulls makes an amazing change, doesn't it? I did them for my mom and dad a couple of years ago and it made a huge difference in their kitchen. Have fun with that. I'd like to do our bedroom and bathroom, too...but you're right, it can get pretty expensive. But there are so many nice new ones to pick from now!

Sorry, you're on your own for the unpacking. I moved 5 times in less than two years before we bought this house, and I swore I'd never move again. Well, unless it's to the Caribbean.

It's almost 5:00 - Happy hour will be with with a cafe mocha.

Training wasn't all that painful for me - I can't speak for the staff. And the rain stopped by the time we got into the pool.

I have to make an appearance at our show tonight, since I was AWOL last night. I really can't stand Oklahoma...And it's really long-3hrs, hopefully, since there will be a mass exodus of cast heading to the bookstore for HP - they won't stay around chatting. John guesses he's locking up the church since our book is ordered from Amazon.

Here's a few pictures from the set - we borrowed a full size wagon and surrey from a local h.s, as well the windmill and Jud's shack. John constructed the house in his spare time and another cast member put the finishing touches on it. Not bad for a church gymnasium...

Nothing like the ocean at sunrise. Even Lisa will get up and go to breakfast and watch the sunrise during the school year. That is my favorite breakfast to have with her.
