Ok - John just left work early to head to the rodeo...Work is going - no spouses this year :sad2: Reba is performing. He's also going Monday night, again no spouses.

Since he won't log in until tomorrow I can tease him a bit - he's so obsessed with our upcoming cruise, actively posting on Cruise Critic, His bedtime reading this week has been the Carnival annual report. He's even downloaded RCCL's report to compare :lmao: He would have also printed DCL if it wasn't rolled into all of Disney Corporate's annual report. :lmao:

I don't want to hear about my Disney planning obsession ever again!!!

:rolleyes1

All DSLR are TTL viewfinders. DSLR means (Digital SINGLE lens Reflex) you are looking through the same lens in the viewfinder and will be used to acutally take the picture. It is exactly like your current camera is. In fact no DSLR, except one, has "live preview" on the screen on the back.

The equivilent lenses would be an 18mm and 50mm for digital. Nikon does have a decent 18-55mm zoom that would cover both ends.

Do you have a Wolf Camera near you? You should be able to go there and ask to see a D80 with a 18-55 or the 18-200 lens on it.

PS. Check your PM

John

Thanks - all the information is greatly appreciated. AAAk - what to do, what to do......

I think we have a Wolf at one of the nearby malls,,,,will check this out..

Thanks for the PM info as well.....

No trips planned for now, though you never know when we will pop in there. Always watching for a DING! It is our second HOME, you know.

The moving date is in flux. I was thinking maybe summer '08, Kevin thinks that is too soon. And Alicia has still not gotten real serious about school, which is a big part of the reason for the move. I hear that UF is quite picky about which students get in there.

Hey, UF let me in (twice!) so they can't be "that" pickey....

Morning All --- Please send a little PD to Fla.

Mother's tests cambe back postive for squamish cell cancer - the procedure is minor but it could take all day and be unpleasant and she is so scared. Her consultation with the surgeon is this morning, so I must get dressed and on the road......procedure is set for the 7th....

We're OK here in metro Atlanta. Amanda? We heard Columbus got hit pretty hard. Are y'all OK? (I hope you're not too busy planning that St. Patrick's Day Eastern to check in with us! ;))

Irene -- our prayers are with you and your mom. Keep us posted

I see a milestone in our near future...

P&PD to all who need it this morning, weather, health related and otherwise... more bad weather... we found out yesterday that our new weather radio DOES work.

I'm just praying for a dry Saturday... our big motorcycle event that I am involved in is tomorrow... we're expecting at least 30,000... if it rains, a whole lot of $ and hard work will be down the storm drains. Oh well... keeping my fingers crossed and doing the sun dance. :sunny:

We made to Charleston last night with no problems.

Lisa competes at 1 PM so we are having slow morning. Hanging around in a hotel is just not the same as haning on DCL. :confused3

Good Luck Lisa!!!

Let us know!!!!!!!!!

Everybody okay?? Stay safe!

Hope Amanda checks in soon. The pictures of the HS in Alabama are just horrendous. Kiki, did you have tornado warnings too? That was some storm.

Irene, of course, prayers and PD for your Mom. My FIL has been doing that for years, and I know that it's painful.

Virgil, congrats on the new camera. I have a D50 that I still don't really know how to use. Kevin has been taking Ebay pictures for me, so I haven't really had to learn, but it's on my list.

Hey guys. Thank God we are safe! We did have a tornado touch down here in Columbus last night...It hit about 5 miles from my house..right now they are saying that we did not have any deaths from it.! Thank goodness! It was at the north part of town and hit an Eckerds really bad and a couple of other business' along that way as well as a couple of neighborhoods. What I am so very thankful for is that it did not come closer to my home. I am ashamed to admit but I paid the sirens no attention at all.
We hear them so often here, that I believe I have become desensitised to them. We did not lose power, and i was watching the news. I did know that the watch had been changed to a warning but thought nothing of it. We get warnings a lot too. I can tell you, after talking to my DH and hearing how much damamge was done to the homes, that I will take that tornado watch seriously from this point on!!! He says he just cant believe the damage...Thank you for thinking of us..
Angie, have you talked to your friend that moved here? I dont recall where she ended moving, but if it was out in midland or ellerslie like she had told me they were considering, I know they got the bad weather as well.

Greetings all!

Happy to hear everyone checking in safe from the storms.

Irene - prayers going out to your Mother.

This is our last day in Hawaii! We're already checked out and now are just hanging around the resort for a few hours before we head to the airport. Wireless internet so we are at the Marketplace enjoying the fresh air and sunshine.

This has been a fantastic trip. When we get home Mark will upload some more pictures and we'll do a full report.
