Someone posted on the main board that the 4-night cruises will have 2 stops at Castaway Cay and no sea day.

Does that mean that there would be no Palo brunch? I was hoping to be able to try that this time. Oh well.

Ang

I think what they were posting about was the one special 5 day cruise to get back in rotation. That had CC twice, Nassau and a sea day.

So since we (Mark and I) aren't doing Mexico or the repo it looks like we have 4 options:

A) 4 day regular cruise with maybe Vero after. Can be done any time and would most likely get the most of the group together.

B) Do the 7 day Eastern earlier than original plan. Late April. It is a 7 day, it is Disney. Who else could do it?

C) Do Alaska in the summer. Again it is a 7 day. It would not be Disney. Not sure who else would come.

D) Do another ship RCCL on an Eastern 7 day in the summer. It is a 7 day. It isn't Disney. Thoughts?

I'm really torn. The 4 day with Vero might be cool but I'm not really into doing a regular 4 day that goes to Nassau. The 7 day Eastern on Disney has always been my first choice as I want to do an Eastern again, but how many can go in April? I've always wanted to do Alaska - is 2008 the year? Or is it time to try another line? I've sailed on RCCL years ago and enjoyed it. We would have a number of options including sailing out of San Juan and hitting the Southern ports like St. Lucia without a 10 day cruise.

Woo Hoo - a UTOP with lots of confused little guys

PDFG and all who need it!

Mary - of your options, the only one that will not work for us is Option B. We can not cruise in April because of School

4 day cruise w/Vero would be okay, would be cheaper and we could use points, etc.

7 day eastern on RCCL is my favorite choice. The new ships look absolutely gorgeous.

7 day to Alaska -- Not sure on this one. I really want to do an Eastern

Just found out that the last day of school is on June 6. Don't know about graduation schedules yet. That will be the kicker. Don't know if they will let them graduate early or not. Usually, the seniors graduate after school gets out here. We never did that when I was in school though

It's brand new - we've always had one of one type or another, this is the first one to be fully integrated where you just click the link and you're there, logged with Dis name and everything.

Its about time!!!! Think of how useful it would have been when we were in the thick of the '06 blabbermouth planning... like LAST year at this time!!!!

Ya, let me just whip that $58,000 pp out of my back pocket here...

WHAT? That's so rude!! You'd go without Mary????

Yes, that's a per person price in the lowest category. Nick was VERY interested to see how much for the best room.....

$250,000 PER PERSON. Kids want me to drop $1million now so we can all go (nevermind Mike missing work for 108 days!!!)

Did someone say St. Lucia??? :rotfl:

I think we should all go on one of these cruises!! Sam says they're GREAT!!

So far that cruise line has been my favorite!!

VERY NICE!!

Mike would have to stay home and work 24hour shifts though.......:confused3

Well, now, I never thought of that. That drops my price significantly. Now it'll only set me back $750,000!

I'm thinking "EDUCATIONAL experiences for the kids" as my prime motive. :teacher::lmao::rotfl2:

Here's the response that I got from my email to DCL. It does seem that there will be some 2 stops at CC cruises.

Dear Angie,

We regret your disappointment.

Each year we survey our Guests to learn what destinations are of
interest to them and we developed these special itineraries in response
to the overwhelmingly positive feedback about our 2005 west coast
sailings. We understand that the summer is a popular time for families
to vacation and we truly regret the disappointment you have expressed
with our 2008 itinerary.

While we may not be offering the cruise itinerary that you were
originally interested in for 2008, we hope you may consider a 3-night or
4-night cruise vacation to Nassau and our private island, Disney's
Castaway Cay. Also, as an added feature to our 4-night sailings, we will
be visiting Castaway Cay twice while the Disney Magic is out at the West
Coast. Another option is a 7-Night Land & Sea vacation packages that
combines the best of Walt Disney World with the magic of a cruise
vacation. Additionally, we continue to offer Eastern and Western
Caribbean sailings January - May and September - December.

Thank you for your email.

I saw today that the summer 2008 dates & itineraries have been released
for the Magic and Wonder. I just wanted to voice my disappointment that
there will be no 7-night cruises out of Port Canaveral for the summer of
2007 or 2008. We took our first-ever cruise on the Magic in May 2006
(special with 2 Castaway Cay stop). We loved it so much that we wanted
to book a 7-night in '08. We won't be booking a Mexican Riviera cruise.
I think you'll have quite a few disappointed families out there.

Thank you for letting me share my disappointment.

Historically, how does your school system do it? Is graduation right after school lets out, or is there time in between (like a week gap) which may not make you cruise ready until the 3rd weekend in June. :confused3 Not saying that's how they are doing it in 2008, just wondering if you knew what they've done in the past.

btw, Angie, what email address did you use. Maybe I'll shoot one off too.

Reminder to myself to check Mark's pockets when he gets home. :lmao:

I thought the same thing when I read that!!

Jay used to leave money in his shirt pocket, that I would find when I did the laundry. He doesn't do that anymore........:rolleyes1
