A few pictures of Guatemala.......as you can see, it was cloudy, but warm. We went to a resort called Amatique Bay Resort. I'd seen pictures and it looked nice, but I was skeptical. I was really surprised at how nice it was. I never expected to find something like that in the middle of nowhere.

The first two pics are of the port area, and the others of the resort. We took boats over to the resort.

Guatemala is really lush, green and hilly......very pretty. Reminded me of Barbados. This first picture was taken from the pool area that we were at, looking over to the actual resort itself. Then I have the beach area, and then part of the pool. This pool was almost "Disney"....pirate ships, water slides and water falls......

And yes, Irene.....you probably would have LOVED the food choices, as would the Tinks and Scubas......lots and lots of fish, lamb, pork......unfortunately for us, we're beef and chicken people. The young adults liked the sushi bar. ::yes::

That was the one thing about the Celebrity cruise that we REALLY liked!! The sushi bar!! Very good!!:thumbsup2

Nice pics Stacey!! Good flavor of the area!

That is a gorgeous place, Stacey. Did you find out how much it costs to stay there?

When we cruised on Celebrity during Christmas '03, I thought they were woefully unprepared for the crowd of kids that were on a Christmas cruise. Their kid's program was almost non-existent. So we would see kids everywhere, including the main nightclub until almost midnight. They kind of took over the dance floor. Do you think that had something to do with it? Yes, there are a lot of kids on a Disney cruise, but they are so good at keeping them occupied!

Thanks for the cheerful posts....as I started 2007 workweek with a dead battery.....bahhumbug...oh well, small things.....

Resolution #1 - don't sweat the small stuff!!!

Hi all! Happy New Year!!!

Stacey, nice pictures!

We had a nice New Year's Eve ... went over to a friends' house. We all stayed the night so we could enjoy some adult beverages. My girls even lasted until midnight! Normally, I would have been in bed asleep at 10:00 PM. Yesterday was a very lazy day for us.

I'm a little late at getting the ball rolling ... I'm starting to plan a WDW trip for us in early June and can't find my WDW Passporter. Anyone have opinions on the best value resort? We'll be driving down so we'll have a vehicle. In 2002 we stayed at ASMu and liked it although this time I'd probably request a preferred location.

I could have sworn I heard someone say that it was a couple of thousand a NIGHT for that place, but I don't see that as being true. We saw a family with several small children that were staying there....in fact, a few families with children, and it just doesn't seem that they could pay that much with that many kids. I'll look into it.

Vicki and I talked about whether or not the difference with the kids was because of lack of activities....but it wasn't the younger crowd that was unruly.....more like the 12 to 14 or 15 age. Too old for the kid's club, and too young for the teen club. And there was a huge group of French kids who traveled en masse, clogging up the passageways.
They had signs in the elevators that kids under age 12 weren't allowed in the elevators w/o an adult, and we didn't see nearly the problem with kids in the elevators.
They have a really large kids' play area.....for the younger set, like Angie's kids. A small pool and hot tub, and even little tiny lounge chairs!

One of the problems was the weather. Forcing everyone inside without a contingency plan is a bad thing.

Angie,

we love the All Star Movies. We haven't tried the newest (Pop Century) so I couldn't comment on that, but between Movies, SPorts and Music, we definitely like the Movies best, then Music and Sports next.

Couple more pictures.....anybody know these guys??

Nice! I especially love the DCL Castaway Club bag. Must have loved you walking off the ship with that. :lmao:

Woo Hoo - a UTOP with Stacey and then men she was cruising with.

PDFG and all who need it.

The picture of the sleeping man was taken at Bannister Island, in Belize. That was the place that sort of reminded us of a smaller Castaway Cay. It's also for sale for a mere 1.2 million if anyone is interested. Here are a couple more pictures of it:

And the port/shopping area on the mainland (Belize City) in Belize...it was hard to get a good shot of the actual pier area......

We had all kinds of DCL stuff.......t-shirts, bags, sweatshirts, luggage tags...and my dad was even wearing a DCL Crew windbreaker!!

This one was fun...our catamaran captain in Cozumel.....steering with his foot. Later, he was even dancing up there!

Okay....I really did cruise with some other women!
Here's one of Frances and I in a Guatemalan jail.......;)

So where's the picture of the whole crew?

Of all the times that we had them take pictures at dinner and all, we never once thought to have them take one of all of us together. Duh! They did the couples.
And for some reason, we also didn't get any embarkation photos! We did get some when we got off at each port.
:confused3 :confused3 :confused3
