Irene, did I miss where you were staying? It sounds close by. This will be our first time going to the parks from a non-Disney resort, the Hilton. Also the first time in a long time we will be using park hopper tickets and not annual passes. That means our three days at the parks (Fri-Sun) will be pretty much commando. Except for Tuesday, when we will just use our MVMCP tickets to go to MK about 4.

I think I have convinced Kevin that it will be OK to pay the $10 to park for the convenience. Those off site shuttles sound a bit tedious. By sheer luck, it seems we are staying at the only off site hotel that lets us attend Extra Magic Hours. We had booked AKL for the first three nights, but decided that $70 a night through Priceline sounded better.

We got a car through Priceline too. We were going to use Magical Express, but we're going to need a car. That was a good price too, and we got a National car. I told Kevin to try and sign up for the Emerald Aisle, is it too late for that?

Where did my post go? Oh well, We stayed at Pop Century - it is one of the value hotels, and as we are never in the room except to sleep, it works well. And we drive. We find that thid provides more flexibility than Disney transport. I'd not take an off property shuttle as in my opinion, the parking fee is offset by the time you will gain by having your own transport....

I find most of the car clubs are good deals as you can by-pass the counter and have easier check-in. Not sure if there is a cost for Emerald Club...

Happy Planning - are you packed yet?

And the morning Top......Thanks for letting me snag it Jim....

Happy Tuesday!

Back to work for me today! Have to stop off on the way in as today is also the first of three secret santa days in my office and I need to get some things for my person. Ho Ho Ho!

Good Morning All!

Thanks for all the trip reports - I would love to see WDW at the holiday time - scrap that - I would love to see WDW any time!!!

If anyone has good wishes, pixie dust, or prayer to spare - I could really use a bunch from 2-4 today and starting at 9am (central time) tomorrow! Today's the day I head up to Dallas to take my Pilates exam. Practical today and written tomorrow.

As soon as I'm home, I'm heading right to the library - it's been waaayyy too long without reading for fun!!! :)

I'd much rather read than shovel out the house - after 6 weeks of ignoring the clutter while studying - I think it would be much easier to bulldoze and start over. I think I'll head over to the CB and see if I find Ty and his crew
:lmao:

Monica - sending good thoughts your way for the testing!

THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS in Legalese (Author unknown)

Whereas, on or about the night prior to Christmas, there did occur at a certain improved piece of real property (hereinafter "the House") a general lack of stirring by all creatures therein, including, but not limited to a mouse.

A variety of foot apparel, e.g., stocking, socks, etc., had been affixed by and around the chimney in said House in the hope and/or belief that St. Nick a/k/a/ St. Nicholas a/k/a/ Santa Claus (hereinafter "Claus") would arrive at sometime thereafter. The minor residents, i.e. the children, of the aforementioned House were located in their individual beds and were engaged in nocturnal hallucinations, i.e. dreams, wherein vision of confectionery treats, including, but not limited to, candies, nuts and/or sugar plums, did dance, cavort and otherwise appear in said dreams.

Whereupon the party of the first part (sometimes hereinafter referred to as ("I"), being the joint-owner in fee simple of the House with the party of the second part (hereinafter "Mamma"), and said Mamma had retired for a sustained period of sleep. (At such time, the parties were clad in various forms of headgear, e.g., kerchief and cap.

Suddenly, and without prior notice or warning, there did occur upon the unimproved real property adjacent and appurtenant to said House, i.e., the lawn, a certain disruption of unknown nature, cause and/or circumstance. The party of the first part did immediately rush to a window in the House to investigate the cause of such disturbance.

At that time, the party of the first part did observe, with some degree of wonder and/or disbelief, a miniature sleigh (hereinafter "the Vehicle") being pulled and/or drawn very rapidly through the air by approximately eight (8) reindeer. The driver of the Vehicle appeared to be and in fact was, the previously referenced Claus.

Said Claus was providing specific direction, instruction and guidance to the approximately eight (8) reindeer and specifically identified the animal co-conspirators by name: Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner and Blitzen (hereinafter "the Deer"). (Upon information and belief, it is further asserted that an additional co- conspirator named "Rudolph" may have been involved.)

The party of the first part witnessed Claus, the Vehicle and the Deer intentionally and willfully trespass upon the roofs of several residences located adjacent to and in the vicinity of the House, and noted that the Vehicle was heavily laden with packages, toys and other items of unknown origin or nature. Suddenly, without prior invitation or permission, either express or implied, the Vehicle arrived at the House, and Claus entered said House via the chimney.

Said Claus was clad in a red fur suit, which was partially covered with residue from the chimney, and he carried a large sack containing a portion of the aforementioned packages, toys, and other unknown items. He was smoking what appeared to be tobacco in a small pipe in blatant violation of local ordinances and health regulations.

Claus did not speak, but immediately began to fill the stocking of the minor children, which hung adjacent to the chimney, with toys and other small gifts. (Said items did not, however, constitute "gifts" to said minor pursuant to the applicable provisions of the U.S. Tax Code.)

Upon completion of such task, Claus touched the side of his nose and flew, rose and/or ascended up the chimney of the House to the roof where the Vehicle and Deer waited and/or served as "lookouts." Claus immediately departed for an unknown destination.

However, prior to the departure of the Vehicle, Deer and Claus from said House, the party of the first part did hear Claus state and/or exclaim: "Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!" Or words to that effect.

I hope it's okay for me to pop in here and say "hi" to some of my 10 day Christmas cruisers. I ran into Mark and Mary on the Boardwalk Friday night, and they said that there were lots of you on this thread.

I'm all settled in Tampa now, and really enjoying the Florida life. The kids are enjoying their schools. I'd love to see any of you if you're in town. Feel free to send me a pm!

Now back to your normally scheduled thread.

"ETA" TOP!!!!

Hi Lisa! How are you? Glad you stopped in, you should do it more often. And way to snag a TOP while you were here!!!

Monica -- Good luck on your test!!!!!

Irene -- sounds like you had a great time. I love Steven Curtis Chapman. We have seen Gary Sinise, John Tesh, Edward James Olmos and Jesus (James Caviezel from Passion of the Christ). They were all very good and I have a hard time picking out my favorite, but I think Gary Sinise was the most genuine of all of them. We saw him the first year that he did it and he was obviously moved. Sure wish I was seeing it again this year.

Diana/Kevin -- you will like having Emerald Aisle. Use them all the time and I usually get a bigger car than the intermediate size I reserve. Had a wonderful mini-van with the fold down seats when we were down there for the cruise. Had an Aztec the summer before that. Always good luck

Boy, this is really sad. I am home from work and it is going on 6 p.m. here and no one has posted since I did at 1 p.m. today. Everyone must be being good and getting all their stuff done for Christmas.

we were. i was making peppermint cookies (took chocolate cookies, dipped them in melted white chocolate, then topped with crushed candy canes) no idea how they taste b/c i don't like peppermint, but Mike and Nick say they are GREAT! (actually, Nick said they were horrible, but that was just to get Mike not to eat any!) :lmao:

then we put the ornaments on the tree. whew. we have a TON of those. by the end we were running out of empty branches to put them on.

now Mike and I will watch another Grey's Anatomy and we'll be caught up from vacation. :)

Well, let's see.....I left here at 8:30 to go have my blood drawn...the only spot they could get it was from the top of the bad hand! :sad2: Left there and went to the bank, then to mail a package (the last one!) at UPS, then to the apartment to finally finish it....then to therapy on the hand.....
I got home at 2:30 and turned right around and got the kids at 3:00.
Jordan needed to go get a Secret Santa gift, so we did that. Came home and gathered up Jay and Jared, drove to Scottsdale to drop Jordan at her dance squad's Christmas dinner.....then we went and got some Chinese for dinner, went to Kohl's where Jay bought me two of my presents and a few things for Jared and my dad (he's always the toughest one to buy for), then to DSW, and Office Max. Went back and got Jordan, came home and watched tv for a bit....and now, here I am!

Happy Wednesday!

Good Morning All....Christmas is coming and I'm getting excited.....

Back from (where did I go yesterday?) Vero - off to Clewiston today....

wrapped the lst packages that need to be mailed today....still have not completed the Christmas Cards....

It seems all the neighbors can make a Holiday Toast this friday - that never would have happened if I planned it....so let's hope it does not rain so that we can have a fire. We will have a very simple menu - items that are pre-made, like shrimp or vegetable trays.

Anyone have any suggestions for a put together party? Thanks.

Oh, the morning top - shared with neighbors, food and the Dis.....

extra PDFG, Lisa and all who need some today.

Sounds like everyone was busy yesterday....

Kiki - thanks for the laugh, the re-write of the Night before Christmas had me chuckling.

Monica - Thinking of you - bet you did fine!!!

Pam - not sure who my favourite narrator was. Unlike you, I don't recall those we hav heard without checking....ok, a quick check of programs I could find, S.C. Chapman (twice), Harry Hamlin, James Caviezel.....

Ohiofamily - sounds like you are really getting into the Christmas spirit...Can I have some cookies Karen?

Stacey - have a busy day there, eh?

Morning Jim, morning Mary......

ok, caught up and time to go to work for me!

Mary - thanks for the Morning Top set-up.

Wow... quiet around here lately... must be getting close to crunch time for Christmas!! (Yes, that's right... Christmas... not some 'unnamed generic holiday in which a coniferous tree is uprooted and brought in the house'... don't get me started.)

I'm off to St. Pete (FL, not Russia) for a meetings this afternoon and tomorrow. I'll never figure out why this meeting is always so close to Christmas... ugh!!! Too much to do, too little time!!!

Monica - hope everything went well... I'm sure it did!
