Kiki -- good luck with that root canal pain. I just went through that at the beginning of November and I am still having problems. They hit the nerve while doing it, and I still can't eat on that side of the mouth. They have told me I may have to wait 6 months before having the crown put on to give the nerve time to recover. It truly is a "pain"

You made my mouth hurt just thinking about that! I'm soooo sorry to hear that you have that trouble.
Pixie dust for you and for Ashley.

And congrats to Dale!! Way to go!!!!

hey, remember me?

i'm back. got in late tonight. whew. good to be home. 18 days between three sets of grandparents is enough to make one need a vacation! :lmao:

got together with mark and mary for dinner and MVMCP. bumped into maria and augie at DTD. bumped into a DISer from the member cruise.

will write more later when i'm not so dog tired.

hey, mark, mary, maria, augie....did you see the shuttle launch? we watched it from the WL boat dock and it was truly INCREDIBLE. i had NO idea it'd be that stunning! :)

Mary and Mark - thanks for the Trip reports....

Sleeping in - I remember that (I think????)

Sharon - so glad Lisa is ok - I guess she does not get time off? Maybe she needs to go on a 3 day cruise??? :rotfl:

Brr at WDW - it can happen....Glad you had fun Maria.....

Mark - thanks for the update on finding Nemo - it was not playing on our last AK run, although we like AK - for us, Epcot, AK, MK and then MGM... oh well....that is what makes us magical.

This set of double scoopers don't plan cruisers in Sept/Oct...sorry about that - Enjoy the wait for 2007!!! Wheee....

Pam, keep dry - sorry to hear about the leak - hope it is fixed. And Way to Go Dale...Congrats!

Poor Ashley - but it sounds like she is doing well right now.....

KikiKaren - hope the dreaded root canal pain has disappeared. Thought of you last night - very windy - all the inflatables were laying on their side....Now, where's the pin?

Ohiominnie - Welcome home......Can't wait to hear the trip report...Mary posted a few teasers.....

Take care all - Hope I did not miss anyone.

Hi- RAchealTori..

Good Morning Jim.

Chipmonks playing on he PBS station this morning. Must go change the station....later :wave2:

I hope it's okay for me to pop in here and say "hi" to some of my 10 day Christmas cruisers. I ran into Mark and Mary on the Boardwalk Friday night, and they said that there were lots of you on this thread.

I'm all settled in Tampa now, and really enjoying the Florida life. The kids are enjoying their schools. I'd love to see any of you if you're in town. Feel free to send me a pm!

Now back to your normally scheduled thread.

"ETA" TOP!!!!

Good morning all,

Back home in this chilly NY air. Not too bad yet, actually this week is going to be in the 50's so I'll take it. You could see your breath in the morning waiting for the bus, though. Now to get into the mindset of Christmas.

I was a little dissapointed at the lack of decorations in WDW. Except for Main Street, that was B-U-tiful.

It was very cool to bump into OhioMinnie, Mike, KT, and Nick at DTD. I've never bumped into anyone I knew before at WDW. I was looking for you guys - Mark & Mary but didn't see you. We ended up going to MK on Saturday. The kids wanted me to go on Space Mt. again with them. My 2nd time ever. We had a great day and then headed over to the Hyatt. We had a balcony that looked into the airport. Wow! I didn't realize that you would be able to hear all the noise from the bars in the hotel. They were having a reunion of sorts and they were having a good time. Even more WOW was that we went up to the pool deck and watched the launch!! That had to be the highlight of our trip. Too bad I didn't have my camcorder. The only complaint that I have is that they had double beds in the rooms. Going from a King to a Double sure is a BIG difference. Neither Augie or I got a good night's sleep. Up at 4:15am to catch a 6:05am flight. No problem. Great flight!!! Gotta love JetBlue. Got back home and jumped into the pickup and went to cut our Christmas tree down. Came home and collapsed.

Today is unpacking day and thanks to the Marriott Grande Vista, all my laundry is washed already. Yeah!!!

Another vacation here and gone. But the memories live on. Lots learned on this one. No more Carnival Cruises, make sure the hotel has larger than "double sized" beds, and don't surprise Anthony with a cruise anymore (he didn't like that). We got them good.

KikiKaren - I don't know HOW you kept that secret for sooooo long. My hats off to you. We were going to stop by for the party, but it was getting late and I didn't know how long it would take to get there. And with a 6:05am flight, not a good idea.

I guess I better get off this computer and start moving. Vacation is over, vacation is over - gotta keep telling myself that one.

Ciao for now......

Saw a picture of that launch, it really did look spectacular. The one we saw was very tiny, we barely saw it from Vero Beach. Blink and you missed it.

What's the matter, Irene, don't like the chipmunks? I guess Alvin and Co. are not Disney.

Alicia has finals before we get to go to WDW, so we are not packed or anything. We will be at the Hilton the 14th-17th, then BCV for three nights. Splurged and got a one bedroom, king bed here we come. Maria, I know what you mean.

Will see the Scubas soon! I guess no one else will be there...

:tinker:Good morning cruisers :tinker:

Happy Monday!

We are home! Up at 4 am for a 6:25 flight. Mark is going to head to work and I'll do laundry and grocery shopping. We had a great time at WDW and it was a blast meeting up with everyone we did.

Lisa - so glad you stopped by. It was great seeing you and I will get that box off to you this week.

Karen & Mike - as always wonderful to spend an evening with you and the kids.

CRS setting in - can't remember if I posted or not, but we watched the shuttle launch from the dock at the Poly. Awesome!

Hey Mary - I sympathize with you on the CRS stuff. I think you posted that before, but who cares. It was pretty awesome no matter how many times you say it.

Diane - that is one of the things that could ruin a vacation for me. Too small of a bed. Don't forget, I sleep with Paul Bunyon - Augie is 6'2" and hairy!!! :lmao: Doesn't leave too much room for me.

The only way I managed to keep it a secret for so long was because I could come here to the DIS and 'talk' about the cruise with you guys... if not, I would have blabbed for sure! It was almost 15 months between the time we booked and the time I told them. It felt like forever!!!!

Party lasted til almost 1. You would have been awfully tired!!!!!!

Wish we could, but the earliest we can get there is the 22nd (thanks to our school system's new schedule :sad2: )

We got the strangest reaction from Anthony (7), he started to cry and said he didn't want to go on a cruise. He was a little overwhelmed and upset that we weren't going to Aunt Jeanne's house like we told him. He got over it real quick though.

Sounds like the party was a good one. I should've planned better. Stupid 6:00am flight didn't help....next time.

This was our weekend for Candlelight at WDW - It has become a traditonal start to the Christmas season for us. A magical time before the rush of the season truly starts. However, with less than 48 hours it is hard to do everything.

We looked for you all but did not see anyone we knew. We saw a few with green DIS buttons, but heading, with a purpose, the other direction. By the time the mind registered - hey disser, they were gone. Thought I saw a MouseFest banner, but not sure. Thought I saw Mark, but alas no.

We did see the Osburn lights - a first for us since they were moved from the back lot. We were on the tram at 6:35 as they were saying the Park closed at 6:30, but were able to get in and went to NY street for the dancing lights. They ran the show until about 7:15 - so we had the time to see everything and the side streets. We also picked up the Litho, I was surprised we were able to do so as I thought the shop was closed. A nice touch.

Then to Ragland Road - I had made reservations but we ended up sitting at the bar and enjoying the live band and dancing.....Hedgie was willing to get up on the table, but not me.

Saturday was a slow start. The cable was showing old Max Fleischer series. How surprising. Then off to Epcot to catch a few story tellers, and presents. Back to the hotel to relax and change for dinner at Canada.

Our server was so nice and helpful, you wanted to visit right away. The food and wine were delicious as usual. Sam had the mushroom Fillet and I had the shrimp - yum. But too much food as we had appetizers first, I had crab and salmon and he had mussels.....No room for dessert for me, but I squeezed a small scoup of Huckleberry ice cream.

Then came the bill....oops...Service 10+, Food 10, Management response to question on DDE (ok, it is Christmas, I will be charitable)....

Suffice to say that management would not accept the DDE card for our extras (It does not apply to the Candlelight package, or tax or tip, not a problem there). Manager blamed Disney. So, despite the holiday spirit we decided to ask at the pavillion. Well, they could not have been nicer. Three words out of my mouth and they were on it. We chatted with the other cast members and learned about the shuttle launch time. And who worked where at the MK. And yes, we received a refund.

Then, it was time to stand in line for Candlelight - We were backed up quite a bit but had seats right in the front. What can I say? WOW! The conductor was Jung-Ho Pak - he was superb! What a joy to watch him conduct. And Steven C. Chapmen was spectacular. We have heard hime before.

Then, around the 9th or so song, clapping....and shouts (what is going on, Disney never plans other events in earshot of Candlelight - ahh, says the brain, the shuttle.....

Epcots Christmas fireworks were amazing.

The next morning Church, did not see Mark/Mary or Bear - and a quick lunch at Rose and Crown before heading home.

Now I need to drive across the state...Later... :wave2:

LOVE him! Listening to his Christmas CD right now... I would love to see him at the CP... it seems that his weekend is ALWAYS the weekend of our party... this makes 3 years in a row. Oh well.

Irene, did I miss where you were staying? It sounds close by. This will be our first time going to the parks from a non-Disney resort, the Hilton. Also the first time in a long time we will be using park hopper tickets and not annual passes. That means our three days at the parks (Fri-Sun) will be pretty much commando. Except for Tuesday, when we will just use our MVMCP tickets to go to MK about 4.

I think I have convinced Kevin that it will be OK to pay the $10 to park for the convenience. Those off site shuttles sound a bit tedious. By sheer luck, it seems we are staying at the only off site hotel that lets us attend Extra Magic Hours. We had booked AKL for the first three nights, but decided that $70 a night through Priceline sounded better.

We got a car through Priceline too. We were going to use Magical Express, but we're going to need a car. That was a good price too, and we got a National car. I told Kevin to try and sign up for the Emerald Aisle, is it too late for that?

Yesterday was the High School All-Region Band Tryouts. Dale did great and made 2nd Chair in the top band. He will now be in the All-Region Honor Band, the All-Region Orchestra and will advance to the Area tryouts in early January. I think they will either be in Midland or Odessa. All of his core group of friends made it so they are already planning on who is sharing rooms with who on the trip.
Way-To-Go Dale!!! That's quite the accomplishment!!
