To make a loooong story very short, we've decided to sell the condo that we owned with Jay's mom and not use it as a timeshare. We decided that we'd rather own something in the Caribbean.
The idea of cruising came about to give us a chance to see where we wanted to buy. We've seen lots of beautiful places and discovered exactly how expensive it is to buy in most of them.
We'd thought all along that we would most likely buy in Bonaire, Netherlands Antilles....next to Aruba. Although it isn't at all lush...it's desert.....it IS below the hurricane belt, is not at all commercialized, and has tons and tons of dive and snorkel sites. And it's still relatively affordable. And close enough to some of the more "lush" islands to hop a plane and be at one in a couple of hours.
So that was a long story. Anyway, we've contacted a real estate agent and have a couple of places to check out that are in our budget...and at the exact location we wanted!!!
WHOOPPPPPPPPEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!

justmestace said:The most fun to have is when the kids forget to turn off the IM thing and I'm online. One of their friends will pop up and interrupt me while I'm doing something....thinking it's either Jordan or Jared online....and I get to "mess" with them.![]()

Hmmm, I'm jealous!! Sounds delicious....chip&dale&fun said:Today was another beautiful day in paradise. Did I mention it was warm? Even the water temp was about 80. And did I mention you could dip your toes in the bay right outside our front door?
Another early rise to great the dive boat, with our new found friends and dive instructor. Captn changed the dive location based on the tide to the concrete, another wreck first dive. This was deeper - about 90 feet and still crystal clear water. It is basically a concrete shell with some swim throughs and lots of neat wheels and attachments to host corral. I tried my hand at the camera, well, let us say Kevin has nothing to be concerned about. Today we saw more turtles, our Dive instructor was nicknamed, the turtle lady. And amazing fish and the cutest sting rays sanding themselves on the bottom.....Here air was not a problem. Yes, we had air, Nitrox is harder to come by on the island. One of the divers on the boat from a cruise ship had requested it, but the remainder of us were on air.....Thus depth penetration limited our down time. Maybe we can post a few pictures this weekend.....Later...![]()
From Blue Island site....
Depth to seabed = 92ft, 28m
Depth to top of site = 50ft, 15m
Type = WRECK
Tidal = YES
The M/V WIT Concrete was built in 1943 by the National Ship Company in Oakland, California. She is a 350ft long bulk carrier that was used for towing in the pacific, primarily for gasoline. The vessel was initially sunk during hurricane Marilyn in 1995, and was again raised by the Army Corps. of Engineers and sunk two miles south of Porpoise Rocks, South St Thomas.
YIPPEE A TOP - HAPPY THANKSGIVING AND PD FOR THE TRAVELERS IN THE STORM DELAYS...
