Stacey,

So sorry to hear of your friend's family. Do they know what started the fire?

Ang

They think it was electrical, but there is an investigation going on. It started in the room where Barb's daughter usually spends her weekends with her grandparents. But she wasn't there this weekend, because she had just had surgery on her foot. That surgery turned out to be a blessing in disguise.

Hi all. Our busy, hectic weekend is finally coming to a close. We made it to the football game on Friday night and it was probably the most exciting High School football game I have ever seen. Even though we were going into the game undefeated, we were a 2 point underdog. We held on and won 40 - 38 and are now 8 - 0. Band had a great performance prior to the game. Anyway, this was a long football game and Ashley didn't want to leave because she was with some of her friends. We didn't get home until after 11.

We were up early Saturday morning to head to the swim meet. Ashley had best times in 3 out of 4 events that day and did pretty well. Finished the meet and ran home and took a nap for a couple of hours, then headed up to Las Cruces for the Marching Band Competition. Band played at 4:00 and did great in prelims. We won all the awards given in prelims and was the first place band heading into finals. Unfortunately, our band was going to be the last one to play Saturday night at 10:35 p.m. We stayed till about 8:30 and then headed home since we had another day at the pool.

Ashley didn't fair as well today, only having 1 best time. She was pretty worn out. We came home and rested a little while, before heading out the the Youth Orchestra concert. All I can say is WOW. Night on Bald Mountain from Fantasia was fantastic. The Youth Orchestra is comprised of high school and college student and they sounded as good as the symphony I heard about 1 month ago. Just got home a little bit ago and need to get ready for the upcoming week. Heading out to Austin/San Antonio on Thursday.

Stacey -- so sorry to hear about your friend. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and their family.

Karen -- great review on the play. Congratulate Nick for us.

Good Morning All - A very busy weekend for us....We cleaned and cleaned and sorted and tossed the screen porch. Luckily, this year it was a planned event. The past 2 years, it was accomplished after hurricanes when we were forced to move all the furniture off and map out 2 feet of water.

Then, a few errands for Halloween snacks, "the great pumpkin" and the like.
We finally received some well needed rain on Saturday, so the day cleaning was not wasted on a sunny day.

Sunday - after chuch, we had breakfast with friends and met their new dog he is so sweet...then off to rent a pressure cleaner for the pool deck, driveway, entrance way and stepping stones.

Both nights were capped off with a DVD - we watched the 2nd and 3rd Harry Potter.....

Today - back to work to relax (with an asprirn or 2 I think).

Here are some before (white stucco & blue shutters) & after (wheat stucco & black shutters) pics of the house. All comments are welcome ... good & bad ... still deciding whether or not to leave the stucco in the front green or have it painted wheat like the stucco accents. The green is a little washed out & gray looking in these pics.

Ang - the house is beautiful! I prefer the "after" shots....The blue tones did not work.....but as for the green stucco??? Sorry, can't help - actually, can't see the green stucco?????

Hi guys. I have some really sad and upsetting news. I don't know how many of you know my friend Barb. She is on the Boards as jilljill. I know that Mary and Mark know her, and gaRry, Virgil....maybe Ohminnie.....
Anyway, I have an e-mail from Barb. She and her family, parents and brother, all live in Delaware. There was a fire during the night at Barb's parent's house. Her father made it out of the house, but her mother didn't. Her dad was being treated for minor burns and smoke inhalation.
Please, please say a prayer for Barb and her family.

How terrible, of course she and her family will be in our prayers.....Her poor father will need to live through this.

:tinker:Good morning cruisers :tinker:

Happy Monday!

Back to work for me today as vacation formally comes to a close. Hope everyone has a great day!

Stacy
Sorry to hear about your friend, that is awful and everyones worse nightmare.
It amazes me that they still build from wood here as there are so many fires, we very seldon heard of this in South Africa where the houses are built of brick inside and out.
Our thoughts and prayers are with your friend and here family during this hard time!!!
