My trip up to Dallas was not quite so eventful in that persective - left bright and early at 5:30 to make the 4 hour trip up to dallas by 10:00am got a ticket in the middle of nowhere Texas - my fault, I really was speeding, just wasn't paying attention - Blame my lead foot - should have had the cruise control on ....1st ticket ever...stopped to get gas and discovered I didn't have my credit card - just the debit card - frantic call to John to make sure the hotel would be covered, all in all made it just fine - only 30 minutes late.

I had a great weekend of training. Nothing like 5 hours of exercising on Saturday and probably another 4 today made driving home interesting - thank heavens for cruise control...My legs were screaming by the time I got out of the car tonight.

Mike and Maggie auditioned for our theatre company's periodic Broadway (and movie) musical review. At the spur of the moment, John also auditioned. I'm not sure our director will let him out from behind the sound board. hmm, can he work the board by remote control? :lmao:

Even though there's another audition tomorrow night - this won't be a family affair - I figure someone has to be available to take tickets or work concessions :lmao:

Lovely morning in the Pug household... Coachpug, in an effort to clean out the dryer vent pipe that runs through the attic, put a gaping hole in our kitchen ceiling when he lost his footing walking on the beams. Makes my kitchen SOOOOOOOOO PRETTY. :confused3 Oh well. It never fails... one project always creates 3 more.

(Come to find out, it wasn't the vent that was the problem... something is wrong with the dryer- its running WAAAAAYY too hot... so now there's something wrong with the dryer AND something wrong with the kitchen!!!! C'mon- who needs a dryer when there are football and cheer clothes to wash 6 days a week. ICK.)

Off to hang some clothes on the line... :laundy:

Karen - sorry to hear about YOUR dryer. Mine has the opposite problem...not getting hot enough. And the ceiling...tell him I'VE done that, too. Whole leg went through my old Master Bedroom ceiling. Like you said, one project leads to another.

And by the way...Augie and I have been thinking of Coach Pug while watching the Yankees spank the Red Sox. Hmmmmm, do the words "Boston Massacre" ring a bell? Gotta love it.

And tell Lil Pug that AJ says hi. He's been thinking about him and wondering if he started football yet. I'll tell him he has.

Have a great day....

Enjoy your respite......

I did not even think they had speed limits in Texas.......sorry about that......

Ok, call caught up. Prayers and pixiedust to all those that need it. Good to see some of the ppl back and saying HI! :)

Camping was better this time.....not NEARLY as hot. We were in a different section (one without crazy para-gliders) and with a great loop for the kids to ride their bikes around.

Only one small problem....

Mike and I came home with Nick. KT went with my parents. They went to another campground that is about 30 minutes west of us. (Nick will join them tomorrow after his orthodontist appointment) But....on the way to the new campground, my parents were sideswiped by a pick up truck. From their account of it, it was very brief and my dad maintained full control of the suburban and trailer......but the vehicle damage is pretty bad. The suburban's right side is all scratched up and (because the camper caught the bumper of the truck) there is a big hole in the front of the trailer and "parts" of the trailer have been quite damaged. They were able to get to the next campground, but had to head out to Home Depot to get some sort of (?) luan to cover the hole in the trailer. THANKFULLY, there were no injuries....not to them, to the woman in the pick up, or to someone in another car that spun out and struck a guard rail! :earseek: No witnesses stopped so they are sure it will be a he said/she said case. But, in the long run, better trailer and suburban damage than people damage.

Just shook me up quite a bit to get the call "we've been in an accident!" :earseek:

Prayers and pixiedust: for them if you've got some.

Glad that they are ok and the damage is limited to the vehicle and trailer....Still, must be a scary experience....

How did KT hold up through all that? What a scary thing! Thank heavens they were all okay. Sending pixie dust!

She seemed to be doing well. I asked my dad if she screamed (it'd be like her to scream a high pitched scream) but he said she didn't. By her account she saw the truck hit them and she "closed her eyes." I'd like to think she was praying. :)

When I was talking to my parents on the phone I heard her laughing and joking in the background. My parents were pretty low key about it....they knew it'd be a hassle to have everything fixed, and that the woman would probably try to blame them, but they were very thankful everyone was ok and that was the MOST important thing. So I think their calm attitude helped keep her calm.

Cool! U TOP to start my day....that's got to account for something! :)

pixiedust: to all that need some!

Ugh. I hate tickets. I've only had two in my life....one when I was about 20 for going through a yellow light.....the cop said it was red.....I tried to negotiate it down to "orange."

The other was a speeding ticket about 7 yrs ago. Again, open roads, finally able to cruise and not be stuck behind slow ppl. On that one the cop didn't want to let me leave the scene b/c I was crying too hard. More mad at myself than anything else!!!

:tinker:Good morning cruisers :tinker:

Happy Monday!

Karen (OM) - sorry to hear about the accident, but glad to hear everyone is ok.

Karen (Kiki) - sorry to hear about the ceiling. Yikes!

Monica - sorry to hear about the speeding ticket.

Our only bad reminder of the weekend is a very very red face. Guess we were so glad to see the sun that we didn't think about sunscreen. Yikes!

picked up some info on Nova Scotia

Have you been there before? We went about 10 years ago and absolutely LOVED it... if we were closer, we'd love to go back. We stayed at a wonderful resort that had great little cottages right on the beach.

(Just don't plan on swimming in the ocean ... we were there in August and the water was 56 degrees.)

Football is back in full swing... opening day is Saturday, in Titusville. I can certainly think of BETTER reasons to head to the Space Coast on a Saturday... I think I hear the Magic calling my name...

Loved the "Recipe" ! Took me a lot of years to go by that recipe, rather than doing it by "scratch". ::yes::

OM, glad everyone is OK, that sounds scary.

I managed to have a busy weekend, Kevin was scuba diving. Took Alicia to an audition Saturday for a show called "Nutrcracker on the Rocks". This appealed to her more than the traditional Nutcrackers in town, which would require her to dance on pointe the entire time, this one is Modern dance set to rock music. Rolling Stones, etc. She wants to do it, and she did very well, but I'm a little concerned about the rehearsal hours, especially the tech rehearsal hours. And the studio is pretty far, near downtown, the performance space is even further. I wanted something to keep her busy on weekends, her studio is not having a company this year, but this might be more than I bargained for.

Eh, it will work out. It's not really a problem in the scheme of things, is it? Glad things seem to be going pretty well for everyone, bent up trucks and trailers and ceilings aside.

Yooooo hoooooo!!!!!!!! Anybody home??

Seven hours and no posts.....

Hi All!

Galle Family update - Mom and the two girls are home and together! Their injuries are healing and they are growing stronger. Please keep them in your prayers and thoughts this week. It will be an especially tough time emotionally as the prayer vigil and funeral are scheduled for Friday night and Saturday. Through the prayer chain Kathy, (mom) has requested prayers to be able to make all the necessary decisions and arrangements for the funeral and in the coming weeks for their future with wisdom and discernment for what is in the best interest of her and the girls.
