Sorry guys, been out of touch. Just been really busy around here lately. Dropped the kids off at camp this morning, so I should have a couple of days to just chill (either that or I'll be catching up on stuff that's been let go lately!) :)

BUT.....

Wanted to show you something really cool:

Mary, you'll notice a difference between this one and the one you read. Mike's best friend, Pete, ;) asked him to address this issue considering what just happened. :)

Also, Mike is recording articles for one of the upcoming DIS Unplugged podcasts. :)

Very nice article.... and well written....

Couldn't have said it much better myself..... ;)

Hey a U.T.O.P. with Mike!

Good article Mike!! Thought provoking insight!

I thought this was kind of funny!!

The Middle Wife
By an Anonymous 2nd grade teacher

I've been teaching now for about fifteen years. I have two kids myself, but the best birth story I know is the one I saw in my own second-grade classroom a few years back.
When I was a kid, I loved show-and-tell. So I always have a few sessions with my students. It helps them get over shyness and usually, show-and-tell is pretty tame. Kids bring in pet turtles, model airplanes, and pictures of fish they catch, stuff like that.
And I never, ever place any boundaries or limitations on them. If they want to lug it in to school and talk about it, they're welcome.
Well, one day this little girl, Erica, a very bright, very outgoing kid, takes her turn and waddles up to the front of the class with a pillow stuffed under her sweater. She holds up a snapshot of an infant.
"This is Luke, my baby brother, and I'm going to tell you about his birthday. First, Mom and Dad made him as a symbol of their love, and then Dad put a seed in my Mom's stomach, and Luke grew in there.
He ate for nine months through an umbrella cord."
[She's standing there with her hands on the pillow, and I'm trying not to laugh and wishing I had my camcorder with me. The kids are watching her in amazement.]

"Then, about two Saturdays ago, my Mom starts saying and going, 'Oh, oh, oh, oh!' " [Erica puts a hand behind her back and groans.]
"She walked around the house for, like an hour, 'Oh, oh, oh!'"

[Now this kid is doing a hysterical duck walk and groaning.]
"My Dad called the middle wife. She delivers babies, but she doesn't have a sign on the car like the Domino's man. They got my Mom to lie down in bed like this."

[Then Erica lies down with her back against the wall.]
"And then, pop! My Mom had this bag of water she kept in there in case he got thirsty, and it just blew up and spilled all over the bed, like psshhheew!"

[This kid has her legs spread and with her little hands are miming water flowing away. It was too much!]
"Then the middle wife starts saying 'push, push,' and 'breathe, breathe.' They started counting, but never even got past ten.
Then, all of a sudden, out comes my brother. He was covered in yucky stuff, they all said it was from Mom's play-center!, so there must be a lot of stuff inside there."
Then Erica stood up, took a big theatrical bow and returned to her seat. I'm sure I applauded the loudest. Ever since then, if it's show-and-tell day, I bring my camcorder, just in case another Erica
comes along.

Mark and Mary, Caleb was up in your neck of the woods last week with his church camp group. They took Amtrak to Chicago for a day and went to Chapel in the Sky (I had never heard of it before), Field Museum and Navy Pier. It was the highlight of his week at camp. I guess we'll have to plan a family trip to go see the King Tut exhibit at the Field before the end of the year. Too bad that Chicago traffic intimidates me too much to enjoy the anticipation of a trip up. Pehaps we'll have to hop on Amtrak, too.

Sandi - we've been talking about going to see it as well. Maybe we could coordinate a time and go together.

See, that's where you're confused. I might drop their names....but have I EVER eaten dinner with them??? SEVEN nights in a ROW???? No, Mary, you have THAT honor. :)

Hi everyone. Sure was hard going back to work today.

Karen -- great article by Mike.

Nothing exciting here yet, so I better go and get some work done.

See ya later.

I do believe you have platform. It's called LISA!!! :lmao:

Good morning everyone - remember me? Guess I've been super busy around here with travel baseball and being "the entertainment committee" for the kids. I don't know why I only signed them up for 1/2 day camp. What am I stupid or something? DON'T ANSWER THAT!

How is everyone doing? I'm sorry, but I am NOT going back and reading 100 pages or so. Anything I should be made aware of?

Not much going on around here to really write about. Just summer stuff and a lot of rain in these parts of the country. I'm sure y'all have read or heard about it. Hey Sue, are you OK over there?

Got my CC number and package though. I haven't really even checked out the CD that came with it. Maybe I don't want to cause it's got all stuff from CC and it would make me miss it too much.

Guess I better get going. Believe it or not, I have to iron some clothes now. Scary isn't it? Having to get up early to make hubby's lunch and then iron before the kiddies get up. What a life....calgon - take me away.

hey Stacey - guess what? I haven't been waking up very much at night. Sorry...I kinda miss our little chats, but a full night's sleep is very important at my age. :lmao: You know what I mean?

Chow everyone. Just wanted to check in with y'all and give a shout out to ya. Take care and I'll pop back in as soon as I can.

Look at that....gone all that time and snagged a TOP...I still got it.

Good Morning All - Hi Maria - love your new siggie...

I finally started on the cruise album last night - We are having a "Remember the Magic Party" for our local Disney friends.....When? On the 15th - I still have lots and lots more pictures to cull through....and then we have the dive photos....I'll need a second volume for all of your wonderful contributions.....

Wish me luck in completing this....still haven't completed the November album....I promised I would leave work at 5:30 each night this week...ok that has not happened....maybe today.

Forgot to do laundry - now must get some done......

Hope your day is more exciting...
