Great pictures, Jim! Tori got a kick out of them!!

We're heading over to Chateau Elan - the winery in Braselton, GA (remember the town that Kim Basinger 'bought'?!!) We're meeting my son, Eric, and his girlfriend, Katherine, for a picnic and fireworks. We did that last 4th too - lots of fun and Eric brings the food! (he's quite the cook!)

And that bottle of Banfi is coming with us! :woohoo: (thanks again, Jim!)

P.S. I know you'll be glad when Matt comes home! Your Alaska trip will be awesome!! Then on to Michigan? When will y'all be back home?

Don't forget the chocolate desert to go with the Banfi!!

We come back in mid July, just gone for 8 days. Matt comes back the end of July. Just in time to go diving in Pensacola. That will be out Boys Trip for the Summer. :lmao:

Great pictures Jim! I love em!
BTW I know you have probably mentioned it in the past 47858 posts or so, but what exactly is Matt doing in CR? Is it a student exchange program? Or summer school or hat? It sounds like it is a really great experience and I would love more information, it is something I would highly consider letting my kids do as they get a bit older. So any information you have that you would be willing to share would be appreciated. Thanks

Well just go back and read all the past posts. You will find all the info!! :lmao:

This is his second summer in CR. He is staying with a family (a friend of a friend of a friend....to long to describle) and going to a spanish language school during the week.

It has been a great experience for him. He has learned a lot of independence and self confidence. I guess part of it is for us to get use not having him around...just getting use to the idea that he is going way someday.

Happy July 4thWe have had a nice day. I took Ashley to early morning swim practice and then came back to watch the Special 4th Parade here on our side of town. Dale's H.S. band marched. It was so neat and I have to admit, I had a few tears in my eyes. We had a Fire truck out there with its ladder all the way extened and it was waving this huge flag off it. Reminded me so much of 9/11. A lot of war veterans were riding in the different cars. I just don't know how some people could not be proud with that.

After that was over, we went across town to pick up Charley's new car. We went ahead and traded in the Jimmy for a Hyundai Sonata. It has a great warranty, came with lifetime oil changes and a $500 costco gift card (yea!!)

My parents left late this afternoon and now my brother is going to be leaving in about 1 1/2 hours. Everyone will be gone and we will start trying to get everything back together.

I sure wish I could take off another day!

HOpe everyone has had a great day!!

Kev,
in the above picture where is that firework from Surely not from WISHES?
Sure it is, you can see Cinderellas castle and Space Mountain. It was taken from the observation deck at California Grill at the top of the Contemporary!!

I looks so far off from the castle....

It's a wonderful place to watch Wishes from, they even pipe in the music. Once they remember to turn it on. The food is good too! Kevin was unpopular though, he was trying to use one of the pay telescopes as a tripod. The kids around us were complaining, so I made him move. He still got some good pictures. What a great way to start our vacation that was!

Does it count that the complainers were from South America????

:tinker:Good morning cruisers :tinker:

Happy Wednesday!

Hope everyone had a great 4th of July. Back to work for me. Have a great day everyone!

Jim - the friend I ran into at JB's e-mailed me that we need to "drink and eat up at JB's" as the word is the property has been sold....

Say it ain't so!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good morning, everyone. Happy hump-day. It's a cool morning here, in the 60's with a high around 80 today. We had some rain for the 4th here, but didn't have any plans. Caleb watched about 8 different fireworks shows from our second floor bedroom window last night. The rain had stopped, and we could see fireworks as far as 50 miles away. It was quite a sight to see the western horizon dotted with red and white bursts of color for about 45 minutes. Back to work for us today.

Mark and Mary, Caleb was up in your neck of the woods last week with his church camp group. They took Amtrak to Chicago for a day and went to Chapel in the Sky (I had never heard of it before), Field Museum and Navy Pier. It was the highlight of his week at camp. I guess we'll have to plan a family trip to go see the King Tut exhibit at the Field before the end of the year. Too bad that Chicago traffic intimidates me too much to enjoy the anticipation of a trip up. Pehaps we'll have to hop on Amtrak, too.

People, people, people!! We were almost on Page Two!!

Sorry I've been sort of MIA. Mostly this darn baseball. All I do is run Jared back and forth to the baseball field. I guess it's no wonder my license plate says "2 N FROM"

As much as it was an honor for him to be nominated and chosen...I will be so glad when it's over. I'm sick of it. The first game is tomorrow...we may be seeing a light at the end of the tunnel.
But...all the plans I had for getting doctor appointments and things like that taken care of this summer, have flown out the window.

And I'm really not happy that school starts on August 10th. Way too hot still, and way too early. But...no one asked me my opinion.

I guess the good thing about school starting is that I'll have some peace and quiet again.

Having everyone home for a long weekend just about drove me nuts. I never turn the TV on when I'm home, and for the last four days (heck, all summer!) the thing has been running 24/7.

Anyway....another long day.......just wanted to say "HI"

I just checked the County's website and it shows JB is still the owner.

Maybe Kikipug will have an update. :confused3

Is it mere coincidence that this rumor coincides with Matt gone the entire summer??? ;) Can't stay in business without Matt's appetite?? :lmao:
