Sorry to interrupt. But am I the only one who's gonna up-chuck if I see one more thread on the main Boards, by the same person, about their 50th cruise?:crazy2:
Were you on the cruise? I don't remember seeing you....You must have been on your "best behaviour"....... :teeth:

It was more snorkel-related than cruise related. He said "Next time, I'm going to ask if we can wear a weight belt". He wants to go down like the guides do, and get a closer look.

I know, he could just dive. But he can't....ear troubles.

Sam brought a weight belt for just that reason......

Stacey - see if you have an ENT who dives. I found one and as you know I am the queen of ear problems.....He knows just the regime to help me out.....and not bad - cleaning twice a year, and certain meds when I had a problem at the EPCOT dive.......and certain tests to make sure I could complete the dives planned (drive Kevin crazy I am sure with questions on dive profiles) and then clearing every foot on the way down. Our dive master was sooooo helpful and protective of me that I had no trouble whatsoever, .....

until......

Jim got in my way --- :teeth:

Got through my pictures last night (whittled it down to just under 300!), and got them posted to Smugmug this morning. Here's the link. From this site, you can order prints or download the original-size pictures, if you want to print them at home. The instructions for that are here.

Whew! Now I can finish that laundry... (Had to keep those priorities straight!)

So what am I doing this weekend.......tackeling the garden or looking through photos....mine are still in film cannisters as I have not been in town to find my fav. photo developer.....

Irene, you don't need a stand-alone printer just for printing pics. Ours is a HP "photo" printer (it's pretty old now). We use it for printing everything. When we first got our digital we had to get rid of our old Epson. It just wasn't capable of printing photos.

I don't like the matte photo papers, personal preference. I really like the satin finish but it's hard to find sometimes.

Ang

Thanks...I guess we need to look into printers....Ours was purchased before this latest hobby....I guess, I need to losely mount photos in the scrapbook so I can replace them when we have a new printer??? I think I might try to print some from mine at work to see what it looks like.

Anyone use any of those internet printing services?

Thanks to everyone on the kind words on the sketch, but the real thanks goes to Ducky himself who took time out of his day to do it. Additional thanks to his friend and our fellow DISer Frank who hand delivered it to our cabin on Friday night. I just asked for a little Tinkerbell sketch and look what we got. Hopefully when GaRry looks at it he will know how much we all love and care for him and that he is surrounded by pixie dust.

GaRry - please remember:

Faith - in your God!

Trust - in your doctors!

Pixie dust - from all your DIS friends!

We have an Epson Picture Mate that prints only 4x6 prints. You can get either glossy or matte finish paper. It does a VERY nice job for "regular" size prints. There are some awesome photo printers on the market right now, but when I need something printed at a larger size I just take it to the camera/photo store and have them print it.

The blue of the water can be changed with a lower f/ stop and then using the flash. Darkens the background and the flash lights for foreground. Kind of cool, but you have to watch your distance to the subject and not get to far, or it will all be dark......

Thanks....We will look into this option....

f stop is a good suggestion, but sadly requires we return and retake the pictures.... :)

Good morning cruisers!!!
I think I've talked Augie into doing another cruise (wasn't too hard of a sell). Probably not until 2008, but I was telling him how a lot of you guys "missed" stuff on the cruise, like us, and want a "do-over". When do 2008 dates come out? How about the same time of year, 2008? Does that sound good to everyone? That gives us almost 2 years to save and pay that puppy off. C'mon---what-a-ya say???? I've got the bug.

We are with you for 2008 --- Cannot wait...we did get the DCL receipt for the one we booked yesterday....And what are the hints on transferring this to a travel agent for more goodies?

And here is another hint from the agent at DCL - posting for comments....

Travel Insurance - to buy it or not to buy it??? You can always transfer the cruise but cannot cancel.....so why would we.... taking care of older parent....apparently, if there is an illness at the time we book, it is a pre-existing condition, that will not be covered if we purchase travel insurance later??????

hum?????

Ok. I feel better that your room doesn't ALWAYS look pristine.

So, any suggestions on how to start on my first ever scrapbook? There is a scrapbooking store near work. Should I just go there? I think it may be a Creative Memories store but I'm not sure. There are also Michael's & Joann's. Would it be best to take a class somewhere? I'd really like to throw something together without spending a lot of money. Is that even possible?

Ang

I'd really like to throw something together without spending a lot of money. Is that even possible? -- SHORT ANSWER NO!!!!!

Actually - yes......I still use 8.5 x 11 format in binders because they sit better on our library shelves that the 12 x 12 - I do a lot of cropping on photos to get them to fit.....Navigators can stand on their own this way....and the 8x10 photos fit well. I choose primary colour acid free backgrounds and hand letter my captions....Not as professional but the folks that look through our pictures don't seem to care.......

Have fun, I bet you will be hooked soon.

Sam - I just came from AC Moore from my 1st scrapbooking class. Gadgets, gadgets - I love them. Sizzits(did I say that right?). I know what I want for my B-day. This woman does a lot of Disney pages. Can't wait. She said she does one that's 10 pages and takes all day to complete. I may have to catch that one.

Oh, Maria, you've hit on my softspot - scrapbooking gadgets! I didn't go the Sizlits way, I got a QuicKutz instead (more portable, not that I take it many places, though!), but the thought is the same. The classes are great. You can usually also find local company consultants (Creative Memories, Close to My Heart, etc) that have monthly scrap sessions and classes at their house. A friend of mine does that, and I'm hoping to start going to hers this month.

Of course, you're not that far from us in NJ... wanna come down for a scrap day? You can play with all my gadgets!

Now that everyone has seen Kevin's pictures you might understand why I don't spend a great deal of effort taking them or fixing them. It's just not my thing and I can always steal Kevins.

However, I did get one picture that I have not seen anyone post.

1918040ship.jpg

I had a great trip parasailing and was pulled right in front of the ship. Thankfully I had my camera with me and was able to get some great shots of the ship.

That's pretty cool! I think you may just win the prize for the LEAST taken picture of the ship!

Do you have any of the cool borders from Castaway Cay you could pass along to little ole me??????????????

Please????????

Unfortunately, no. The only picture we bought onboard was from Palo's. But if someone else has one and can scan it, I can remove the picture and leave just the "frame." Feel free to email it to me!

I bought a few from Castaway Cay - one of the girls has the Twice the Magic border on it. I'm going to try to scan this weekend, if I can find the time. I'll email it to you so you can remove the picture. Did you get the email that I sent the other day? Just wondering if I typed it in correctly.

Awesome pictures!!
Can I ask where you WERE when you took the "far off" pictures of the castle/etc.?
We were having dinner at California Grill and went out on their observation deck and snap a few before and during the fireworks.

Molly, the kind and gentle dog

Molly was very 'pleasant' to me the last time I saw her... maybe because the dog at the other end of MY leash was much bigger than her? :confused3

Maria -- unfortunately for us, we can't do it in May. Dale will be graduating from High School and that usually isn't until around May 31. We will be booking for probably 1st week of June, any cruise that is an Eastern

Pam, first week of June will probably work for many of us too!! And, unless DCL comes out with some *new* itinerary, we'd like to do the Eastern again!! :cloud9:

Jim - great shot...I pick up our parasailing pictures today and hopefully AJ took one like that. Pretty cool pic.
