I am armyfam's son, Adam, and I just wanted to let you know that my mom just had emergency sugery yesterday and will not be able to go on the criuse. My dad will stay home with her, and my brother and I may still go on the criuse with our grandparents. She is now in recovery and doing very well. PLease keep her in your thoughts and prayers.

Wow. I am so sorry to read this. Will definitely keep her in our thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery.

DH and I walked Cody up to Pimlico Race Tract to watch the Preakness. Got there just in time to see the horses round the corner to the home stretch. We were outside the fence among all the men and women who had too much drink and were passed out on the sidewalk . There were women riding in grocery carts , folks dragging huge coolers, and lots of folks walking through the neighborhood trying to find where they parked their cars.

We live about 10 blocks from the racetrack. We didn't know who won till we got home and watched the news. Very sad about Barbero.

That was my exciting day.

Would you believe I have been gone all day and have no more packing done. Ashley had a solo competition this morning (she got a 1+) had to go to the cleaners, the bank, the cell phone company (charger quit), Kohl's, then had a hair appointment, then appointments for nails and pedicures for me and Ashley then had to drop her off at school for a band party tonight. I am going to go in and try to do some more now. See ya'll later

We watched it at the party today...very sad. Megan's Dad is a race horse trainer, so we used to see that quite a bit. I've always thought it was just so horrid....and on the smaller tracks, it was often preventable, although I doubt that's the case with Barbaro. Just such a shame.

We're home...obviously. Stayed at the party longer than I had wanted to, but it was so nice to just sit and visit.

There was a lady at the party who was wearing the new red Minnie Mouse outfit...it was darling!!! And out of all the people there, I would have bet money (and lost again) that she'd be the least likely to be wearing Disney clothing.....she's usually dressed to the nines, even if it's a BBQ and swim party.
If I were a size 4, I would have stolen her outfit!!
