With a packed suitcase, where I have forgotten NOTHING!!!!!

That's one of my favorite parts of the recital! (other than my own kid dancing, that is)
We call them "the babies." And when the babies dance it is so darling. There are the ones who don't dance and just look around. There's always the one that spots their mom in the crowd and waves. It's just adorable.

And then there are the ones that absolutely take command of the stage and don't want to leave. Those are the ones I want to take home. We had a group of Shirley Temples tonight, complete with lollipops, I wanted to adopt one of those.

The show went very, very well, and was actually really entertaining. Alicia danced great, and she and Kevin managed to steal the show during a skit to "My Girl". People were telling Kevin he was "wonderful". Too funny.

I spent a lot of time at the flower booth, but managed to see all the dances. We were fund raising for the trip to DL this summer. I think we did OK, but we lost the key to the cash drawer, so we might not find out for a while.

Now I want a downtime day, but it doesn't look like I'm going to get it.

I am armyfam's son, Adam, and I just wanted to let you know that my mom just had emergency sugery yesterday and will not be able to go on the criuse. My dad will stay home with her, and my brother and I may still go on the criuse with our grandparents. She is now in recovery and doing very well. PLease keep her in your thoughts and prayers.

We got Jared's bag all packed. Then I realized I need to fit something very important on the top, and it won't fit. Now I have to get out a bigger suitcase and start all over again.

Plus....his dress pants don't fit. Not the tux pants (although those are kind of short) but his dress pants for semi-formal and one or two other nights.

I don't have time next week to go to the mall. I'll have to see if I can get lucky enough to find him something at Target. And I swear, if I go to Target one more time, they're going to put me on their payroll.

My feet hurt, my back aches and all I want to do right now is sit on a verandah somewhere and stare at the ocean.

Jay is "short" a couple of casual t-shirts. Now I have an excuse to hit the stores as soon as we set sail!!

Maybe it's a good thing we're using a bigger bag for Jared....will need room for purchases.

Okay, I sat for ten minutes. Going to go move his stuff to a bigger bag now. I absolutely NEED to be done with this.


The fun thing....we're going to the Diamondbacks game tomorrow...and get to sit in the swimming pool area. No...I'm not wearing a swimsuit. They're all packed. Besides.....they have TV cameras and PEOPLE there.

Well....the "package watch" is on again. I went online to JC Penney and ordered a pair of pants for Jared. Paid extra for rush delivery...should be here Tuesday. Now watch, they either won't come, or they won't fit.

I just couldn't go back to Target again. Besides, I don't need another job.

Our Godson's First Holy Communion was yesterday. I was nice. His parents, granparents, family friends all attended and then went over to the house for dinner. A nice time, but homw a bit later than we had planned.

It is another beautiful day.

A U.T.O.P. to start my morning!

Yesterday was a busy day for us. I should have stayed home! I up doing laundry right now. I'll have to get everyone else up in 30 minutes so we can get moving to go to Mass.

Yesterday the girls had swimming lessons. Ashley jumped in when the teacher wasn't looking & she had no float on! I didn't see it happen because I was watching Emily. Bruce saw it. Usually a life guard is standing on that side of the pool watching lessons, but there was no one there at that time. Luckily her teacher saw her & grabbed her. She was trying to get herself up for air but couldn't quite get it. She was a little gun shy after that but only for 5 min.!

After swimming lessons, we went down to a R.E.I. store to get Bruce some shorts. We wound up spending way too much money! I found a pair of nice sunglasses. We got sun hats for the girls - a bucket hat w/ chin strap for Ashley & a baseball-type hat with the long "flaps" on the neck for Emily. They won't color-coordinate with their swimsuits but oh well. The girls & I played outside when we got home while Bruce cut the front yard. He called it quits because he'll have to cut it again on Thurs. & said it's not long enough yet. Hopefully he'll have an easy time on Thurs.

Today, we have a birthday party to go to for one of Bruce's ex-coworkers. They have a little boy Ashley's age. It should be fun but I should be staying home to clean & pack! I've got NOTHING done & panic is setting in.

Well, off to fold laundry before everyone gets up. Maybe I can get some stuff done after Mass.

Last year for the dance recital, there was a little that just stood there on the stage & didn't budge. Emily's day care has 2 groups, she was in the "other" group. She was a twin - one danced the whole number & the other just stood there. It was cute because they danced to some sort of cat song. They were dressed as cats. At the end of their number they crawled off the stage. The one just stood there. They finally had to close the curtain with her standing on stage. Part of me is afraid that Ashley will do that this year.
