Hi all -- I think we are just about done with the packing. Need to run out to the winery and pick up a couple more things (rechargeable batteries) etc. The main suitcases are all packed. We ended up with 2 25 " suitcases and 3 rolling duffles. Then we each have a carry on. I know we have way overpacked, but, oh well!!!

I have all the laundry done and need to just finish up the final picking up around the house, but I am just exhausted right now. I had forgotten how much it takes to pack for a 2 1/2 week vacation combined with a cruise.

Gotta run -- have to change a car rental still.

Kevin/Diana -- hope you all are doing okay and getting your stuff done. We will call you Tuesday a.m. and try to meet up at AK

Well, Kevin is packed. Alicia and I have all our possibilities out on our beds and are doing laundry. Trying things on is involved, of course. That's the depressing part. So I would say maybe half done?

Pam, we'll see you soon! I like saying that.

Good Afternoon - We drove to the docks this morning - NO DOVE...the boat had trouble...and no place else was open...so we ran around doing errands, Taget, Sports Authority, Starbucks, Big Lots, Irish Pub, you know the important stuff.

It seems we may need a bigger suitcase as well. So it it Wal-Mart time...

Then a nap, and now catching up.

Good luck with all the last minute packing and laundry.

Work for us tomorrow...blah....

Thank you cards and tip envelopes are done! If anyone wants help figuring out tips for their family and breaking out cash (we always give cash instead of charging it to the room) this site is very helpful.

I never did switch Jared's suitcase over last night. I just ached too much. I'll do it eventually.
But I was laying in bed thinking that what I am going to do is get out a small, rolling carry-on and put our clothes in it that we will need first thing. At least then I won't have to worry about the first night, and our toiletries that we'll need then and at the Hyatt.
The bad part is that Jay and I are already pulling carry-ons, so I'll have to make one of the kids pull this one. They aren't as good about being pack mules as the Scuba Kids.

Sounds like our plan. We pack everything we need for our travel day/night and the first afternoon/evening on the ship in the small rolling bag (we don't carry it on) and our other carry-on stuff. That way we don't have to mess with our big bags until they arrive in our cabin.

I'm back from my pedicure and have a beautiful California Rasberry color on my toes. This is all so new to me as this is only my 2nd pedicure ever (the first was before the Member Cruise last year). So one more thing to check off the cruise list.

Mary, I got one today too! It was my first. SO relaxing having someone massage my feet and calves. And now my hands and feet look so nice... If only it would last until the trip. There's hope for my toes, but not my fingers. I'm way to hard on my hands.

Lisa and I had a pedicure yesterday too. It was so nice. I wish we could have done it closer to the cruise, but with her schedule at the gym, we this was the only time we could work it out.

JIM...do not answer this question. Inquiring minds DO NOT want to know!

But I bet the baggage xray guys were curious as to why you packed rose petals last Christmas.

He didn't pack rose petals. We had the REAS package on the 10 day cruise (so I could make the Palo and Spa reservations I wanted) and as a part of that package was rose petals on your bed the night you have Palo reservations. Karen and Mike had reservations the night after we did. Lisa, KT, and Nick had a kids only dinner that night and afterwards, KT & Nick (with our help) decorated their parents bed with the rose petals that we had gotten the night before (no reason to waste them).

Hi! I am on the 6/24 double dip! We are so looking forward to reports from ya'll so we will know what to expect! Have a great time!!!

Ya know, now that I've had 2 1/2 minutes to think about my response, I want to change it. I posted my knee jerk reply....

In hindsight, I think YOUR proposition of drinking wine while the kids swim is far LESS irresponsible than letting the kids drink wine while YOU swim!!.

I think we are all missing the real question.... Is it irresponsible for the children to choose to swim while we drink?? :thumbsup2 :lmao:

HELLO ALL!!!

Seems like I fell off the side of the world there for a while.... end of year stuff... parties, competitions and recitals. Now we are down to taking finals and my only real job there is to nag about studying... no problem! I work one more day and then we are off and running!

So it is now Sunday and we leave in 4 days.... The suitcases are still in the attic and there is still a load to go to the cleaners and here I sit typing and hoping that the packing faries will come tonight!!!

DH and I got out our packing lists from previous trips to go over and found the list from DD7's first cruise when she was 2.... I have no idea how we carried all that stuff... I do remember putting diapers and pullups around wine bottles so we wouldn't loose room to bubble wrap! :rotfl2:

Has there been any big news while I was gone?? I don't think I have been on the boards for a week or so... No hope of catching up!!!

Adam..... So sorry to hear about your mom.... hope she is feeling better and has a quick recovery!

Well.... back to catch-up reading...

Just saw the Wonder on the TwoPalms Cam(a little while ago) :yay: , the DD saw it too. Boy are we excited.

We are now fully packed! The only thing to go in at the last minute are things for the the carryon bag (make-up, testing supplies, pda, etc.)

Ok, back from the recital. The first part was good....they did Rodeo (basically it was Wilderness Lodge music) Thye were mostly the older girls so the ballet teacher made all the younger girls sit with their families to watch which left us helper moms free to sit and watch our kids. Then the second half I stayed in the back and organized and got girls on and off when they were supposed to. Then the whole costume collection and cleaning up the place. Finally, I'm home, have been fed Cappy's pizza and my parents decided to leave tonight instead of tomorrow morning......so we're all chillin'.

We're too beat to pack tonight......so our goal is to get everything (yes, EVERYTHING) packed tomorrow evening. We can do it! :)

Hi Everyone - Do we really sail soon? The last few days have been busy for me, college niece visiting for a few days, Nick and Em for an overnight, following Jeanne around reminding her to PACK!!!!!!!!!!!

OOOOHHHH.....OK. Guess I'm too much of a homeschooling mom. I thought "testing supplies" like some sort of standardized test. Wondered if Mary was going to take the MCAT or something. :)

Okay, maybe I am being a little naive and trusting (and that is definately not my normal self) but I am not concerned about leaving my camera bag alone on Castaway Cay while the entire family goes swimming. But Should I just buy and bring a couple disposables for when we go to the beach in Costa Maya? Dont feel quite as comfortable leaving my stuff unattended there whilw we swim. I guess no video on those days. Thoughts?
