Well our plan is that we'll wear our shirts for boarding and the DIS meet. We are then going to change either right before or right after the drill (depending on home much time we spend chatting at the meet) and wear our dinner clothes to sailaway so that we can go right from that to dinner.

I'm pretty sure those on late seating will most likely not change until after sailaway.

We've never done it this way before, but just may try this. I think it will be helpful especially with early-main seating (which I'm assuming we'll be on)

That is....if the luggage gets there in time. Sometimes it's all there by sailaway, sometimes we aren't getting our last bag until right before dinner.

That happened to us last time. I didn't get my bag until 5:15. I was starting to get a little nervous.

Well, I have been up since 4 a.m. again. Didn't go to bed until 11:30 last night because I was packing. Have to be out of the house early today, so I will probably want a nap later. Ashley has a band solo competition today at 8:30. I need to go to the cleaners, the bank, the winery, Office depot, target and Kohls, plus a hair appointment this afternoon. Ashley has her final band party tonight and Charley has his last shift tonight from 2-10. Cleaning lady didn't make it after all because her husband is sick. She was supposed to come yesterday, then it was going to be today, but then she wanted to come late this afternoon and I just told her to wait until I get back. So, once the packing is done, I need to concentrate on getting house put back together.

:rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 What is the one weird item you pack yet have no idea why :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

For me it is my box of gernola bars (as if the ship will run out of food) or the five bottles of sunblock (as if I can't buy more if we run out) :rotfl2:
I have about 5 bottles of sunblock, too. Cheaper to take it with you than to buy it on the ship...

We are late seating and we change after sail away before the s how --- that is IF the luggage has been delivered. Our odds with 2 cruises are 50/50....First cruise - luggage after show. Second cruise, luggage before life boat drill... :confused3 :confused3 Good News, it always shows up....The crew really hustles...

Hey Pam - pick up a few things for me while you are out - ok :teeth:

:lmao: Yes, I was!! Lots of GREAT memories of Nanuet, NY - The Red Rail was our "hang-out"!! :woohoo:

:lmao:

Wait a minute - I'm confused. You lived in CT and traveled all the way to Nanuet for drinks? That's not exactly the closest NY town to the CT border. There must've been another reason. Splane yourself.

Well, I have my suitcase almost totally done. I had to stop, because Jared had a game. Then they voted for the players they thought should go to the All Stars series. Jared got voted in for that....there go my plans to visit my parents in late June/early July. I think I'll make Jared call and tell them.
Then I took him to dinner, so we haven't been home for too long.

I need to go finish that bag, or I won't be able to go to bed.....it's ON my bed.

Congratulations, Jared! That's great!!!

We really enjoy sailaway and like to stay up on deck as long as possible. That's why we change before going to it. Remember that the first night is casual so if your bags aren't there don't stress. You'll be among friends.

Good morning all! I'm soooo excited that we'll be on the Magic next weekend!

Mary, or anyone else, remind me of the plan for embarkation day with regards to changing clothes for dinner? Before or after the lifeboat drill?

Ang

Because There's a chance that your bags may not be in your room before you go to dinner, you should pack your dinner clothes (and anything else you might need that day - bathing suits, toiletries, etc.) in a bag that you carry onto the ship, rather than in your (probably) big bags that the CMs bring to your cabin. As for when to change, I'd do it AFTER the lifeboat drill. That's usally a hot, sweaty experiences (lots of people all crammed together on a 90-plus degree deck - doesn't that sound like fun?), so you'll no doubt want to clean up before heading to the dinning room.

Good Morning Everyone!

Busy day today!

At this time next week - we'll be at Grill's eating breakfast!!! :cool1: :cool1:

Yeah Pam! Way to go. Who would have thought we'd all be so excited that Amanda got her shirts & bag?

Ang

A Big Thank You Pam
for all of your work!!!!

How exciting that we only have one week until we sail. But that also means that I can officially panic now. I've done remarkably litttle to get ready (our "ready-to-pack" pile is pathetically small), my to-do list is really long, I have way too much to do in the next 6 days. So not only am I know a proud, card-carrying member of the "crud, I didn't lose weight before before the cruise" club, I'm now asking to join the "time to panic and pack" club. :scared1::scared1::scared1:

See I'm spoiled. With our Cat 7 our lifeboat station is in Animator's Palette. We get to sit in cool comfort! :teeth:

Oh, I forgot that I wanted to ask a packing question. For those of you who fly down, do you pack beach towels. We did it last time, but not sure I want to this time since we don't have a verandah. What do you think??

Still catching up - doing the Virgil thing so, you've had answers by now- we don't bring beach towels. We use the boat's towels. Usually the kids will buy beach towels as souveniers.
