And Elizabeth has a Coach/DAD that LOOKS like he could eat people... it helps that he coaches all the boys that are HER age!!!

I've always said that if Jay isn't enough to scare the boys into behaving, then nothing would be!

After reading Irene's post I am pleased that my coping is done. I had to learn a couple of new programs to copy the DVD's over, but they worked.

We just watched it tonight. There are some special moments amoung all the junk, like when Virgil was trying to hang a spoon from his face.....and then there is Stacey....or Jay actually holding a conversation.:rotfl:

I remember that....I was looking at you like "why are you taping Jay?"....and almost died when you said "Look...he's talking!"....:rotfl: Geesh...that was only, what...the sixth night???

And you know..the people who weren't at Rockin' Bar D that night are probably going to be really disappointed when they see the video after all this hype...it's really NOT that funny!

I think Diana made me sick. I got up long enough today to go pick Jordan up from her dance team's sleep-over and then I went back to bed and slept ALL DAY. Felt like I had a fever, then chills, and my stomach was a mess.

I got up in time to take Jared to yet another scrimmage game. Luckily, it was a much cooler night tonight, so it felt good to sit out there.

Jared's former coach was there, it was his first time leaving the hospital since his daughter's car accident the other night. He and his wife had gone to visitation services for the little gal that died, and then came to their son's game, while grandparents stayed at the hospital with Stefanie.
She has a long road ahead, and it's still touch and go. She was thrown from the car, and then it rolled and landed on top of her, and it had to be lifted off of her. She broke every rib, every vertebrae (but luckily...miraculously..no spinal injuries) lacerated both her spleen and liver, and has one lung collapsed that hasn't inflated so far. But she has regained conciousness and was taken off the ventilator and is now talking. They keep her sedated most of the time, though. He said the pain is almost unbearable. And they welcome all prayers.

I think I must have missed some posts (or pages of posts LOL) right after we got back from the cruise.. i'm a little lost about the cd exchange. ??

In any case, I sure would like a copy of the CD people are talking about- can someone please let me know the details on that again? I thought I read something about how much it would cost to do the exchange but I was at a lost what it was about at the time. I thought it was only exchanging between people that took pictures of ONE ANOTHER- and since we were like outcasts the whole cruise (kidding!!! LOL) I didn't think that included us... since we didn't take any pictures of other Dis'ers. :confused3

I wish I could see the rockin bar D infamous stuff we missed though. *pout*

Stacey- sorry to hear you aren't feeling well. Sending you lotsa pixie dust to get well soon!
Also praying for your friend's daughter... gosh that sounds so painful!!! I'm so glad no spinal injury though. I know she's got a tough road ahead of her and hope she heals fast and well- but I'm so glad she doesn't have to go down "that" road. And I know that road well... my mother is quadraplegic from a car accident. (since 3mo after we got married- 16yrs ago)
Praise God that she (your son's coach's daughter) didn't have spinal injuries. Gosh from your description of the accident and what happened to her- she's so lucky her injuries weren't worse (like spinal injuries/etc.) I feel so bad for the other child's family... they are in my prayers also. I cannot imagine the heartache.....

Yeah, a little bit, I guess it shows.....any way the coping and copying are a bust.....I tried to e-mail the pictures to myself at the office cince I can easily burn a cd there - no luck.

I'll try again tonight and see if it works. Poo, maybe I should have tried to copy onto disk before I spend so much time scanning in photos...oh well...nothing ventured.......

Have a good day all....off to complete morning chores and work....

:tinker:Good morning cruisers :tinker:

Happy Monday!

Back to work today after a long, but fun weekend.

Stacey - sorry to hear you've been sick. Feel better soon!

Good morning everyone. Monday, Monday. Firt day for the kids with NO school. Oh boy!! Camp starts tomorrow but it's only from 9am-12pm. That gives us time to do something in the afternoon and me enough time to go food shopping (just about).

The rain has finally stopped here in NY and they don't forecast any for today. I'm starting to grow webs between my toes. And every once in a while, I quack!!! Go figure.

Guess I better get going and get the day started. I'll chat with y'all later.

Poor little thing, just breaks your heart to hear of one so young, dealing with troubles so large!

Our best wishes and prayers go out to her and her family!! :grouphug:

Hi all! Hope everyone had a good weekend. We had a not-so-good one. Here goes ...

It all started on Fri. afternoon. Bruce was doing some weed eating before cutting the grass. I could hear a tinkling noise of stuff hitting the back door. About 30 min. later Emily started screaming that the glass was breaking. I always thought it was individual panes but it's just one big pane! It kept cracking for probably an hour. It's double paned so just the outside cracked & it stayed together ... guess there's some sort of film in it. Then it started raining & lightening. Our house got hit! Thank God the house didn't catch on fire. We can see a spot at the peak of the roof where the wood is scorched!!! It blew our a/c, alarm system, stereo receiver, new cordless phones, cable box, router & dsl modem. I've been without cable & internet ALL weekend ... boy was that hard for me!!! I called the ins. co. Fri. night to file a claim. A claim's adjuster will call me today. I called the a/c people that we've used before & left a message on their emergency #. The a/c people came out at 10:00 on Sat. They had a replacement board that worked. So we were cooling off by 11:00 a.m. We had another storm come through Sat. night so I didn't sleep very well.

To top it all off ... Stacey, I feel your pain!!! Last night I went threw something on the shelf in my closet & the whole rack came off the wall ... ugh! So at 9:00 I was cleaning out my closet. I bagged 3 kitchen garbage bags of clothes & I'm not done. I had been planning on cleaning out. Guess I'll try to tackle some more tonight.

I did clean house all weekend ... guess that's the only up-side of not having tv or internet!

Not sure I'll be able to catch up on all of the posts that I've missed since Fri. Someone let me know if I missed anything.

Thanks Laura! Yesterday Emily said that we were very unlucky. I reminded her that we were very LUCKY that no one nor our house were damaged. The other stuff can be replaced.

We had some friends over Sat. evening. They have been wanting to do a Disney cruise but thought that it was way too expensive & they couldn't afford it. They seriously thought it would cost $10K!!! I told them exactly what we paid & they are very excited about the thought of going. They too will try to book something for summer '08. We even talked about going at the same time. Their girls are the same ages as ours. I gave her my Passporter book to get her started.

Good Morning Everyone!

I hope the week will turn out better for everyone. Sounds like it was a rough weekend. Prayers and Pixie dust for the coach's family. Angie, so glad y'all are alright! Amanda, that was a very touching story about the man in the park.

We had a somewhat busy weekend. The highlight was the Chicago and Huey Lewis concert last night. It was fun, especially Huey was my first concert waaayy back when. We had great seats. My only problem was trying figure out why there were so many old people dancing to Huey's music - and could I be one of them???? And gasp, I actually complained of ringing ears post-concert because the music was too loud :lmao:

Even though I love Huey and Chicago - Chicago with Earth Wind and Fire was a better concert...Their music complimented each other nicely and were able do more sets together.

Holy cow, Angie! I'd say that's at least six months' worth of bad luck....so you're done for a while! Thanks heavens it wasn't worse with the lightning...sounds bad enough as it was.

At least now I can walk into my closet and actually see what I own...so I guess in the long run, that part was worth it.

One of Jared's teammates Mom has been trying to convince her husband to take a Disney cruise. They travel all over, and have cruised, but not DCL. She had me telling him about Disney and even Jay chimed in. Funny to see "Mr. I'm Not Going To Cruise Again" get so animated when he talked about a Disney cruise. I hope we have them convinced!
