5/15/2011 - Disney Dream 4nt Bahamas - May 15, 2011

What time is everybody getting to the terminal? We are coming from Beach Club and originally planned to use DCL transfers, but when I read that a 1 1/2 hour ride could easily turn into 3 hours after having to stop at multiple resorts, we decided to use a car service. I seriously doubt my 2 year old is going to sit on a bus with no car seat for 3 hours. Last time just the trip on Magical Express was a nightmare because he didn't want to sit and kept trying to get up.

We have the car coming around 10am and planned on stopping at Publix to stock up on diapers and other things we don't want to carry on the plane to Florida. I'm thinking we'll be there sometime around 12 or 12:30, but I have no idea how long the check in process takes. My plan is to immediately go and request Brunch at Palo then check out the kids clubs and nursery. I'm not sure if we'll do the sail away party or not. What about you guys?

We plan on being there around 10:00 am. My DH's dad lives near Vero Beach, so we are going to visit them for a couple of days, and they are going to give us a ride to the Port. Same as you, we are going to going to immediately try to change our Remy reservation to around 8:00 on the Nassau Day (we have 6:00 right now, which I'm very grateful for!!) and try to get Palo brunch too.

Has anyone happened to try to get the movie schedule from DCL yet?

At a minimum....why don't we make a pact to keep Lime Green Mickey Heads on our person (lanyard, hanging from purse, etc), so we can each at least say "Hi!" :wave2:

DW and I are not sure when we'll get to port. I want to get there early, but I hate all the waiting in the terminal.

On ship will probably be best for a DIS meet. I'm all for meeting on deck 13. We don't have kids and don't really plan on attending the sail away party, but if we are on deck having a drink when it starts, that's fine too.

Like Scrappy Tink suggested - wear your lime Green Mickey Ears somewhere throughout the cruise and maybe we'll get to meet face-to-face.

Above all - RELAX, you'll be on vacation. If we don't get to meet all of our DIS friends, at least we have the forums to talk and stuff.

I have no idea when we are getting to the terminal. Doing the Hyatt the night before, then taking the bus transfer to the terminal. Anyone know what time that gets you in?

We're not rushing to the port. Did that on our first trip and I haaaaated getting up early, rushing to the port, then just sitting around a packed terminal (and constantly ducking a nerf football some family thought it was a clever idea to hurl around :rolleyes1). I know the Dream embark has been crazy, but I'll take my chances and enjoy a leisurely morning. We have a 10:30 am ressie at Boma, we'll eat then drive to the port, maybe a quick stop to pick up a few essentials. Probably get there sometime after 1 pm, and if it's still crowded we'll sit closer to the back with our high high number, out of the big crowd that clusters close to the queue. If we don't get on until after the buffet has closed, I figure we'll probably still be too stuffed from Boma to care ;)

The one regret I might have is that I would like to get on the list for Palo brunch, but we've done it before so no real harm if we don't. No kids to sign up, no wish for an upgrade, and we already have our Palo dinner and Remy dinner booked, so I think we're making the right choice. Like Scrappy, I almost thought about trying to get there early to change my Remy time, but then I realized even dining at 7, given the regular reports of 3-4 hour meals, we would still be eating at 10 or 11 . I am SO glad I realized that now, b/c no Prilosec in the universe would let me get away with that :rotfl:

Just got the Theater Showings for when we are on board:

Prom
African Cats
Mars Needs Mom
I am #4 (Never heard of this!)
Tron
Nomeo & Juliet

Most of them are in 3D.

Darn, I was hoping they'd play the new Thor movie!! :goodvibes

Just watched the Trailer for I am #4 and it looks real good! It has Quinn from Glee in it, and the cute U.S. Marshal (Timothy Oliphont) from "Justified" in it.

Mmmmmmmm, Boma sounds good too!! :goodvibes Yeah, I was kind of worried about a later Remy dinner time because of the length of the dinner. We do normally eat late though. I hate trade-offs!! Show or later Remy...decisions, decisions!! I want it all!!! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Hey Branv, I tried to send you a PM to ask you something....I don't know if I could reply, if you PM'd me? I'd like to be able to spread a little Pixie Dust, if possible.:goodvibes

My FE arrived today! She did a fabulous job!
I was starting to worry. I placed my order towards the end of March!
Got my Pirate night FE's all bagged up too! Time to move on to the Disney themed gifts. Ugh, I'm running out of time! Still need to make another ring bearer pillow, magnets for our door, and I haven't even STARTED packing yet! I could really use a magic wand.... :wizard:

I love it!!! Yay, only 1 1/2 weeks left. Now if I could only get my DD (Dear Dog) and DH well before the cruise...I'm about ready to run away from home and go by myself! :guilty:

I know I've seen it on the board somewhere but what is the process to take care of your tips prior to leaving? Is anyone taking advantage of this? Also if we get wonderful service is there a way to leave an additional tip after the fact. I said something to my husband about this and he thinks that if the CM's know they already have their tip they won't work as hard.:sad2:

I believe you have to call to do it, I also read that you still get the envelopes at the end of the cruise so could include more if you wanted to. As far as I know there is no way for a CM to know if you pre-pay tips.

Looks great!!!! Are those dollar tree pirate bags I see? I used some of them myself!! :dance3:

Haha, why YES they are! Good eye! pirate:
That's also good to hear b/c my boys were so sad that we are giving them ALL away and didn't save any back for them!

Oh gosh, I'm not sure they will actually get one - I think my kid gifts were in smaller clear bags - but I may have packed my extras!!! If I did, I will be sure to swap bags out for your boys!!! Either way, i'm hope they will be pleased with the contents!!

Oh gosh, it's not a big deal!! Please don't go to any extra trouble. They will LOVE getting gifts....period!
We are just so excited to be participating! I hope everyone enjoys our gift bags. The boys helped make them and had so much fun!
Only 11 more days til we leave home!
