Who would of thunk it:confused3 An earthquake of 5.0 in Cleveland Ohio. They say it was our largest ever. Glad I all three tremors. Can't imagine what they go through in California.

Stranger things have happened...I went to college in that general area in the late '90s, and there was a 3.5 or so in Sharon/Greenville, PA area.

I felt it! I was sitting at home and the whole house shook, I thought something hit it, like a tree fell or something. It was sooooooooooooo weird.
I went outside and walked all around but couldn't find anything. Then I came into work and everyone was talking about the earthquake. I couldn't believe it.

O.k., this is what happens when you listen to the media/news.

The 5.0 was in Canada over 350 miles away. It was felt by people from Wisconsin to Maine. The shake in Cleveland was way less than a 5.0.

I live on the east side of Cleveland and I heard it more than felt it. It sounded like thunder that was pretty close and since it was looking like rain, I figured that is what it was. Except that there was no more for over an hour until the storms actually moved into the are. When I found out what time it was, I realized that it was the earthquake.

In downtown, the height of the buildings would have magnified the effect. It was less than the 2.8 magnitude that was centered only a few miles from me, that occurred a couple of weeks ago.

That one sounded like someone had dropped something very large, very close by. In that case I even felt/heard the aftershock an hour or so later... and that is rare around here.
