4yo and 18m twins--itinerary for 4d

Hi there

Looking for any advice for our upcoming trip--we are doing a 5d/4n trip this fall. Our oldest DD will be four and our twins will be 18m. We know this will not be our last trip, so I don't feel the need to cram everything in for this short visit.

What do you recommend we do for our short visit with three small children? The first and last days are bascially lost to travel and we have a 90 minute time share obligation on day four.

I'd plan on a full day at MK and then pick one other park for another full day (pick the park that will appeal most to your kids - I'd personally pick AK because my DS (also 4) love animals and dinosaurs. Maybe do Epcot the day you arrive - you can spend the afternoon there, have dinner and enjoy the fireworks. Use the last day to return to what you liked most. I don't think there's as much for young kids at Hollywood Studios, but you could spend half a day there. There is a good Playhouse Disney character meal and some Cars stuff.

Make ADR's that match where you'll be to reduce travel time (and you need to make them NOW). Also, with 3 young kids I would recommend getting ADR's for times when you know your kids will want to eat - ie, don't take a 2pm ressie for lunch if that's all you can get. You'd be better off with counter service. Hungry, cranky kids are no fun!'

I definitely agree with MK and AK. Magic Kingdom is, by far, the best park for the little ones. There is so much for them to do.

Knowing that you don't feel the need to cram it all into this visit is a great attitude to have. We felt this way a couple of weeks ago for our "short" visit. Since we knew we would be back in Sept. for our bigger vacation, we took it very easy and actually spent more time at the Magic Kingdom than we had planned for. It worked out very nice for us.

We also know that when the kids are older, we'll have more time to do the "adult" things too.

That all being said, I would probably schedule my time like this (give or take):

Day 1: Epcot
Day 2: MK
Day 3: AK
Day 4: DHS (nap) MK
Day 5: MK or Downtown Disney

If you really need to eliminate Day 5 completely, I would probably do AK during the day and then DHS in the evening on Day 3 and just do MK on Day 4.

2: MK
3: AK / DHS
4: MK
5: Travel

Personally, I would budget two days for MK...we easily spend 3 days there because DD likes to ride some of the rides a couple of times. Plus there are very few rides there that they can't do. AK is a must do for my family. We are in the DISboard minority who don't make Epcot a priority on a short trip. We definately go there but I don't personally think there is a lot for a 18 month old (ie they aren't going to be interested in the World Showcase). DHS (old MGM) has Playhouse Disney and they can do the Backlot Tour, Muppets, Movie Ride, and the shows. Bottom line, once you do MK with little ones, the rest of the parks pale in comparison.
