Give me your opinions on going the week of 4th of July, please.

Park days would be midday Monday through end of day Friday.

Just how unbearable would it be? I am receiving conflicting information.

We were there last year from 6/30-7/7. The weekend prior to the 4th was actually pretty dead (by Disneyland standards), crowds picked up on Monday and then got pretty bad from the 4th on. I was actually expecting the opposite, I figured with the 4th being on a Tuesday that the 4 day weekend before would be crazy and then drop off a bit.

It is a Vizzini game of wits with the 4th being right in the middle of the week. I would think that it would be an okay week with no 4 day weekends, then everyone else would think so, Jedi Mouse observation is probably the standard. There have been reports that mornings are very manageable, but by 2 it is crowded bad, so best to have a morning/evening plan and this July will be a first for Max pass, so that could ease your touring.

Last year we went to DCA until around 2:00 on the actual 4th, and it wasn’t too bad at all!

That doesn’t really mean anything predictable for this year, but it’s encouraging? We spoke to a few people who were visiting and said it hadn’t been too bad prior to the 4th, either (which lines up with PP’s experience).

The “conflicting information” makes sense because there’s really NO way to know, though. Crowds could be miserable; crowds could be manageable or even nice... with Pixar Pier opening on June 23, it’s possible that people will plan their trips for after that, which may concentrate the crowds a bit more towards the 4th compared to last year (when people were waiting for Fantasmic! and the railroad to open later in July). But things like weather factor in, too... lots of variables.

I’d expect big crowds, but with planning and good attitudes, I’d say you could still have a great time. And those crowds certainly might not materialize, or they might not be consistent.

We visited July 4th 2016. We were in the parks Jun 30th through July 4th, but we left on the 4th in the early evening to fly back home to Oakland (flight was super cheap at that day and time). Overall, that Dland vacation was one of the best experiences we've ever had in terms of crowds. During that entire trip, including the day of the 4th, mornings were amazing - very light crowds. Afternoons were busier but really only moderate crowds. It was as if the entire vacationing public had decided to go elsewhere for their celebration of our nation's birth. So I've actually been angle to go back for a 4th of July visit, but this year won't work for us. We will go at the end of July instead.
