Hello,

I just got off of the phone from booking a specialty cruise for the July 4th holiday. I decided to book the Wishes cruise instead of the Illuminations cruise. The price is quite a bit higher for the holiday cruise. The cost is $450 for four people and $50 for each additional person. Our total is $550. The cruise will last 45-50 minutes and will include sandwiches, snacks, drinks, desserts, and wine. Do you think that the 4th of July cruise is worth the money? Should we take a specialty cruise on another night of our trip instead? Has anyone ever taken a specialty cruise on the 4th of July? Any information that anyone could provide would be very helpful. Thank you.

It sounds like you are taking the Grand I yacht specialty cruise . That usually runs about $350 plus food. THe pontoon Wishes cruises start at only $140.

The lady I talked with at 407-WDW-Play said that all boats were that price on the 4th of July. I asked that question and she said that we were booked for a plain old pontoon boat at that price. Do you think maybe she was wrong?

She started to tell me about pricing. I interrupted and told her I knew what the pricing was (140.84) because I was rushing the conversation to get the cruise booked. She corrected me saying that all the Cruises, including Illuminations (which were already booked), were $450 for July 4. After 4 people, it's an additional $50/per person. I booked it, but may cancel because that was more than I expected. Even if we find people to share the cruise with, it will still be pricey because of that additional $50/pp charge.

I also had one of these cruises booked this morning. I was very excited until they told me it was $450.00 plus tax and that's only for four people. Any additional people are $50.00 a pop. For our party of 11, we would have had to pay $800.00 plus tax (and tip). Unfortunately, we can't afford to pay that much money for an hour boat ride, I don't care how great the food and fireworks are.

The CM said you have to book the Level 3 cruise, Level 1 cruises aren't available because of the holiday.

I am sick with disappointment that we can't book the regular $150 cruise for the 4th. :sad2:

Wow, I got through at about 7:10am and was told all the cruises were booked for July 4th. I hate to say I'm glad since we would have not paid such a high price. We have Wishes booked for earlier in our stay, so I guess we'll stay with that. I just feel that price is way too high for what you will be getting.

Wow! I'm glad we're planning on taking our cruise around the 10th of July. DH would drop dead at $500-$600 for a one hour cruise. I think we'll stick with the plain old $150 one. I was wondering though - can you order food or desserts for the pontoon boat cruises?

:sad2: I canceled our Wishes Cruise for July 4th. I couldn't justify the cost. So there may be one available for that evening.
